One of the Most beautiful and the most noteworthy temple complexes in Kathmandy. The Deity here is "Aaryablokiteshwara" and hosts two big ceremonies a year. One is the Bathing ritual and the other being the famous Chariot procession where a tall chariot is built at Teen Dhara Pathshala near Durbar Marg and then the procession held through the Old city. Visiting here is a must for any one coming to kathmandu. Parking is a big problem with the streets always crowded because of its location at the center of the city. Walking is the easiest means of reaching here.

Along Siddhidas Marg, the distance between the Durbar Square's center and the Ason Bazaar chouk's beginning is around 0.4 miles. The Jana Bahal shrine is located near the junction Kel Tole, halfway between Durbar Square and Ason market (or roughly 0.2 miles away) (also known as Seto Machindranath Temple or the Golden Temple). This temple was a favorite of ours. During construction, the entrance might be changed, therefore take the alternate route. When there is no other option, Seto Machandranath, a white statue that denotes purity, is the god of health care. There are 108 pictures surrounding the pagoda-style temple, which is a great draw. This temple is situated in the heart of Kathmandu's medieval durbar plaza, a 10-minute walk away. Every morning there is a large audience at the temple, and during festivals there is an even larger crowd. It is believed that those who are really ill and helpless visit this temple to light a lamp on a traditional gold pot to ensure a smooth transition between life and death. The Kathmandu Valley's residents have a great deal of faith in this God.

The charm of Kathmandu never lies in Durbar Square. It is here and it is everywhere. Hahaha. Enjoy your stay. I will be back. This is a great temple anyway. By the way, I tell you a secret that there is a toilet inside and it is not free. 10RP is OK. Thank me if you are desperate in finding a toilet and you are welcome :)

One of the very important historical sites of Kathmandu valley that still preserves our rich ancient and medieval art, culture, history and diverse Buddhist cultural practices. This site has its significance not only in the Buddhist traditions and mythology but also in the evolution of the valley's traditions that dates back to many centuries.

Very few people know about this place. The area is crowded and a business hub in central Kathmandu. During Seto Machhindranath Jatra, the statue is carried on a Rath and the rath jatra is moved around the city area. Inside is a well managed area. Tourists visit this place with their guides. It's building and the temple which were damaged by the earthquake are under renovation. So it is suggested to visit with caution.

This temple needs preserving and conserving. Since it is surrounded by houses and almost its space is encroached, people should take serious steps to protect this beautiful heritage.

A beautiful temple inside a courtyard. Gold glided roofs and engraved images of lokeshwara the Deity of the world. Housed inside the temple is the idol of Seto Machindranath. The courtyard is beautifully decorated with wood carvings, artistic windows, brass statues of deities and kings who offered homage to the god. The main temple is magnificent with its two roofed pagoda with artistic decorations. This place is truly a gem in the bustling and busy street of Kathmandu where you will find peace and tranquility.

Seto Machindranath Temple is a hidden gem in the heart of Kathmandu. It is a peaceful oasis amid the bustling streets and markets. The temple is beautiful and serene, with a stunning white statue of the deity and a golden roof that shines in the sun. The temple is also rich in history and tradition, as it hosts one of the most important festivals in the city. The chariot festival is a spectacle to behold, as the crowds gather to pay their respects and receive blessings from the god of compassion. The temple is a must-see for anyone who wants to experience the authentic culture and spirituality

Seto Machindranath, also known as Janabaha Dyo, Karunamaya, is a deity worshiped by both Hindus and Buddhists in kathmandu. The temple of Seto Machindranath is located in Jana bahal (also known as Machhindra Bahal). Located at Keltole between Ason and indrachowk in central Kathmandu, the temple is believed to have been established around the 10th century.

Seto Machindranath is a deity worshipped in Nepal, particularly in the Kathmandu Valley. He is believed to be the god of rain and harvest, and is also associated with good health and prosperity. Seto Machindranath is depicted as a white (seto) deity riding a chariot pulled by four white horses, and is often accompanied by his consort Janabaha Dyah, who is also a deity of the harvest. The worship of Seto Machindranath is an important part of the culture and traditions of the Newar people of Nepal, and the annual festival of Seto Machindranath, also known as Jana Baha Dyah Jatra, is a major event in the Kathmandu Valley. The festival is celebrated in the months of April and May, and involves the procession of the chariot carrying the deity through the streets of Kathmandu and other cities, accompanied by music, dance, and other festivities.
