Don’t go there ! It’s badly located and at night it's scary to walk there alone... And it's very dirty (the pictures is from under my bed). The breakfast was good, even if we can’t chose, but served on sticky plates and my knife was very dirty too… There was no hot water for the shower. I think there is better in KTM for the same price.

I love this place.The staff is outstanding and it really did feel a bit like home when I walked through the door multiple times a day after touring around Thamel. I was always greeted with a huge smile. The room was ,clean, quiet and well appointed with anything I could need. The breakfast was delicious . The service was welcoming and a great start to my day. When I return to Kathmandu I will definitely stay here again at thamel backpackers!!!

Me and my best friend stayed here for 5 nights(though we planned for 2 days only). We had a nice room (double bed) with a good bathroom and hot shower. The room was clean when we came in.And the food and coffee was very delicious and staffs were greeting and extremely friendly. To my surprise, The hotel had a taxi service for the airport and car rental as well. Also we liked the location of the hotel: it's in a quiet street, and the surrounding is very peaceful and beautiful.they also have tourist shops nearby.

Extremely judgmental staff, price is cheap but service is cheap as well. No talking manners whatsoever. It’s not even in Thamel. If you’re considering staying here, please find other accommodation, there are lots in thamel which are way nearer to thamel and way good.

Thamel Backpackers home is not located in Thamel, they just making confusion to costumer. I booked room as they mention thamel Backpackers but it was not located in Thamel. I hardly find much far form thamel. It is not good location . It is hard to walk in the evening alone . As solo traveler i feel uncomfortable. Next day i went thamel and found very good locations name Bag packers Lodge. Which is more comfortable location and very clean and safe.

We stayed here several days, the hotel was well decorated and clean, the room was spacious, nice and clean, hot water in the shower, although the toilet and sink could have been cleaner, breakfast was fine, staff very nice and polite. We loved their many terraces that were full of flowers with comfortable seating. This district is much more interesting than the boring and noisy Thamel (just 5 min walk away). Ah, and the wifi worked well. So the value for money is very good and I would stay again. If it was possible, I would give them a rating of 4,5/5. Just one warning - we did our laundry via the hotel and it did not go well. The clothes and sleeping bag did not come back clean (We ended up washing the clothes by hand and couldn't believe how brown the water coming out of it was! And the smell...). The hotel staff did try to resolve it, we got our money back for the sleeping bag (we didn't ask for money back for the clothes, we just gave up). So it's not as if they did the laundry themselves at the hotel but it was a service arranged by them, they surely got part of the money for it, and it was purely a bad service, so it left a bit sour impression.

They dint give any service. No bed tea and no breakfast as mentioned. Room rates are also different as mentioned. Difficult to find the hotel. Disappointing

Went there with friends. Rooms were very dirty. Bathroom door was broken.Staff was rude. Isn’t even located in thamel. Won’t suggest anyone to visit there.

My experience at this thamel backpackers was very enjoyable. All the staff were extremely friendly, the food was excellent, and we were even treated to a local home cooked dinner by our host, who was very nice! I would recommend staying here, the views and gardens are beautiful as well !!!

Affordable, clean, quiet, friendly! Landing on my first night in Nepal - navigating the intensity of Kathmandu for the first time - I arrived at Thamel Backpackers Home after 35 hrs of travel. I was met with such kindness, and immediately. Felt at home in this gem of a place that is just far enough removed from (and close enough to) the Thamel tourist district and main streets - surprisingly quiet, affordable, clean, simple, and kind. When I left on a 16 Day Himalaya Mountain Trek, I was able to leave my larger luggage at the hotel, for free. Bonus! 16 days later, I returned to the chaos of Kathmandu. I was met once again with kindness and care - a juice brought to me on arrival. At no extra cost they upgraded me to a deluxe spacious suite to spread out and rest post-trek. Wifi is steady. Free breakfast available (a few basic vegan options: toast & jam, fried potatoes, coffee, tea, fruit). They also provided fast 24-hr laundry service for a reasonable price I will return! Home away from home. :)

Hostel correct, not fancy, fair price and the staff is pretty helpful and they can keep your luggage for free while you're trekking. The room are clean but the bathroom we had in the room had a leak and it wasn't clean. The public bathroom is clean though. The breakfast is simple but ok.

The travel designer from this tour company did an absolutely outstanding job in planning and arranging our three-week trip to all over Nepal. Our Guide really listened to what we wanted and then crafted a perfect trip. We felt we really got to see so much and it was the right mix of activities and pacing.

Was a excellent and outstanding hotel the service’s where absolutely fantastic also the hospitality was outstanding. Front officer bharat was helpful and very supportive with GSOH😁👍 staff where friendly and feel like home my room is 301 very cleen.....highly recommend (Tara nath puri)

best cozy hotel for couple

We stayed there for about 6 nights (non consecutive) in between trekking. We left our stuff that we didn’t need in our trek. The place is clean, staff are helpful & friendly. They offer laundry service and hot showers in room. They don’t have a dorm. Close location to Thamel & Indian embassy. It could be noisy at night.
