I feel like I have been deceived by the store where I bought a jar of 400 grams Biscoff for Rs. 2,500/- and biscuits for Rs. 1,500/-. Recently, I discovered that the same sized jar is available at Nina Grocers for only Rs. 800/- and biscuits for Rs. 470/-. It's frustrating to see Nepali entrepreneurs charging exorbitant prices, taking advantage of customers who have limited options due to market scarcity. I was charged more than triple the standard selling rate, and this kind of behavior is unacceptable.

Most tasteless meal I have had in Nepal. So disappointed. Prices are high and I was hoping for a nice meal but it was loveless. The egg Florence was as bland as water and the pizza was just bread with stuff on top. Who cooks without even tasting the food? The food looks good; can't deny that. Not sure why they're so many good reviews here.

This bakery is a decent place to have some coffee and breakfast in the morning. The owner is very welcoming and gentle, and their food and service are very fine. It would help if they get the AC running all the time since the cafe is facing the east, and in the morning, it is all exposed to the sun. Installing some blinds at the windows will also help to make the place more pleasant for the customers.

The place itself is very comfortable and cozy. But don't go there for nepalese food, they have some asian food options though that you can get somewhere else a lot cheaper, but the majority of the food is western. The prices at the French Bakery are quite high for nepalese standart but still very cheap compared to restaurants in the west. They offer really fair prices. Please go there, it's worth it.

Turns out this place had a separate entirely vegan menu! Not only that but they also have vegan sweets that look amazing! We came twice - * For breakfast we tried the tofu scrambled on toast - the 2 toasts were nice, though toasted a bit too lightly. The scrambled tofu was ok, a bit bitter due to unbalanced seasoning. After that we had both the delicious and super chocolate-y vegan chocolate brownie and the also very tasty vegan almond brownie bar. * For dinner we had the Linguine Carbonara - which is basically pasta with mushroom and vegan cream sauce. The pasta came in a pretty satisfying quantity. The sauce was good, though I would've preferred it was stronger and thicker. There were also two really good garlic toasts that came with it. The second dish was the Tofu Burger - grilled tofu, lettuce, grilled tomato, carmelized onion and sweet chilli. The burger buns were big and pretty good. The grilled tofu was large and thick but had no taste and was way too soft inside. The roasted potatoes that came on the side were great and the ketchup and vegan mayonnaise really completed them. For dessert we had the chocolate truffle which was so good and so big that it was almost too much for us, but since we are two big chocolate lovers so of course we didn't leave anything on the plate. Also the two waitresses didn't really worry about clearing the table after we've finished our food, once even after we ordered dessert and they know only a little English so it was a bit challenging to communicate sometimes but the manager came to help when he was available and they were all kind. Sincerely recommend vegetarians and vegans to come and enjoy all the plant based dishes that t his place has to offer!

A lovely cosy cafe with really good food. Ambience is nice and place is very clean. The staff are very friendly and sweet and they give you a bottle of water and glasses as soon as you sit. The brownie isnt really a brownie, it's a chocolate cake but it's one of the best chocolate cakes you can find in Kathmandu. Peach ice tea is just the regular powder mix, but they serve it cold. The sandwiches are really good. I just wish they had a little more space and some softer sofas. Definitely coming back here.

This place was by far our favourite vegan place in Kathmandu! The staff are so kind & the food was very good. It was busy but we were happy to see that everyone else was enjoying it also. They have a vegan menu with so many options and vegan desserts to pick from 😍

Wow, vegan tofu scramble and vegan banana/coconut milk smoothie were excellent! Little higher prices than the rest of Thamel but the food and menus have extra attention to detail too. They have a normal menu and an extensive vegan menu :) They also have milk alternatives for coffee which is rare here. Only thing was some of the staff don't speak great English, but it's not my country.

I recently visited a fantastic restaurant that exceeded my expectations. What I loved most was their commitment to providing vegan and gluten-free options, which is a refreshing change. I highly recommend trying the club sandwich; it was delicious! Additionally, their cookies and bread were fresh and tasty, making it the perfect place to grab a quick bite on the go. Overall, I would highly recommend this bakery and restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and inclusive dining experience.

One of the best breakfasts I had was here in a French bakery. The person taking the order suggested to us what they are famous for. You should try the coffee and Egg Benedict here. Must visit for a hearty breakfast.

Stopped in here for an impromptu coffee and breakfast. Another great Vegan option in Thamel. The vegan scramble wrap was HUGE and delicious. The coffee was great too. We also took away the vegan chock truffle which delicious. There are soooooo many vegan options here with non dairy coffee choices too. And with all things in Kathmandu, ridiculously good value for money. What a great find!

Well worth the visit if u r looking for a vegan restaurant. In addition the young chef complex to my request for full breakfast with no Onion and garlic which was quite delicious. Their good quality whole meal bread was scrumptious and their coffee was satisfying. The bahini who took my order was so sweet and polite. I suggested to at they keep an orange juicer to complement their breakfast. Sadly their toilet was in much need of bleach and a good scrub. Overall it was a good experience.

I love their menu which has some outstanding classic French and American breakfast items, which are rare to find due to its complex recipes. I tried their delicious and gooey French toast, delightful Egg Florentine and cappuccino. I was in food heaven after I polished off everything. Everything was just right, the presentation, taste and of course value for money. The assorted baked stuff was very tempting. They had both vegan and non vegan options. The staff is warm and welcoming and I just loved being there. I definitely plan to be there again.

That is true that is a bit overpriced but the food we had was amazing. We really recommend the croquemade (croque madame real name though) and the brownies.

Way too happy to found this glutenfree gem in Kathmandu. Gluten free brownie was the best I ever had. And they made gluten-free Vega hamburgers for me. Visited every time we could. Very friendly owner! Good pasta as well.

Most overrated cafe that I visited in Nepal. Tasteless brownie (300rps!), Ice cream (75rps, finally not charged because it was uneatable) which was not properly frozen and therefore risky for the stomach. The staff seemed quite nice, but I'm rating food and price

One of the best, nicest and friendliest places we have discovered in Kathmandu: Good coffee, lots of good vegan options on the menue and great eggs Benedict/ Florentine plus heavenly French Toast. All that provided by a very friendly and generous owner.

  • 5/5 Jez S. 6 months ago on Google
Amazing food and service here, the owner and staff are really friendly and helpful. Coffee is the best in town and on par with the best in London. The sandwiches are excellent and come with little roast potatoes which are delicious. The cakes are amazing too but very filling!! Went here everyday for coffee and/or food. The owner trained in France and understands food safety, so I ate anything and everything with complete confidence. Thoroughly recommend this place.

A bit busy but worth the wait. The staff is very friendly. They have a number of items ranging from breakfast to snack to main dish. Out of all the dishes, the staggering sandwich caught my eyes. It is a number of chicken served in bucket of bread with salad and potato as side dish. The pizza was also good with not too crispy and not too puffy. A bit pricey but good experience over all. Will definitely try other dishes sometimes in future too.

Really expensive the food wasn't worth it for me. I had vegan brownie which was good I had wrap with bacon and omelette which was really oily and without real taste of bacon I asked without cheese and got with. I'm had no time but sure the stuff will fix it because they were really nice . Great atmosphere and lovely stuff!

International standard restaurant with different varieties of foods. Try their special masala chai. Nice vegan menu looks like ( Me no Vegan). However limited space but great peaceful place to be. Busy hours always have crowd everywhere. It’s international standard so expect international prices (for locals). It’s not that expensive compared to other international standard quality restaurants.

Amazing place. Freshly baked in-house bread. Emphasis on vegan but everything is super tasty: sandwiches, burgers , pizza. Had the best vegan chocolate truffle and blueberry ice cream. Chef is widely acclaimed and very friendly.,Must stop in Kathmandu at least once .
