Ordered these items; Poleko Mustang Aaloo (This was priced 195 taste not even like a normal boiled potato. Very bad in taste. Chiken momo (satisfying) Baby thali set (Very small set compared to other thakali restaurants) The waiters were not so friendly. And the service was very late.

The thali is good. Service I can’t say much. Place is quite busy during the lunch time. You will find the staff not rude but occupied. I order a coke which was flat asked her to change instead got told that it was fresh out of bottle. I didn’t argue but learned a lot about the place. There are lot of rules in this place so better not expect something that you find in other restaurant. I recommend going to this place have your thali and move out. I think that is something they want as well.

I wasn't expecting this place to be so good in terms of service and food they served. We had ordered dhido and rice for our various thali. Dhido was by far the best one we have tried in any Thakali restaurants. We also appreciate the option to ask for dhido (for second helping) even if we had ordered a rice thali. The staff here very helpful while we ordered our food. They also have various achaar (pickles) options that one can buy.

An Authentic Nepali Platter With Veggies And Meat. This unique Nepalese thali is a combination of dal, bhaat, tarkari, any meat and buckwheat finger chips and a generous dollop of ghee. Food was very delicious & nutritious. Taste was very unique. Black dal taste good & rice is different n tasty. Must try Thakali thali whenever you are visiting Nepal.

When The owner aunty is there best food and service. The last she wasn’t there. It felt like nobody wanted to work I literally had to call the receptionist to send a waitress upstairs. Plus I paid, they just told the price, no bill.

One of the worst service and bad quality food. Like what other review says the waitress are rude. I ordered thakali khana for 5 people but they didn't even bring ghee. I thought they forgot and even call a waitress and asked them to bring but to my surprise they didn't bring even after i reminded them. I was disappointed. I don't recommend this place to anyone.

Never get the kids thali, unless u are a kid. It is so good you will be craving for more. The ultimate Thakali restaurant for me. Service is great. Surprised to see some bad reviews here. I have only been here 5 or 6 times, never has it disappointed. Jhwai Khatte smooth is heart warming during winter.

Probably the most famous of them all Thakali food places in Nepal. They just aquired a parking space about a 100mts ahead solving the parking problem. I'd say there are better places for the thakali Thali set. The other items on the menu are unique and different. Try them all. Overall a nice place for unique and different taste.

This lack of professionalism left a sour taste in my mouth even before I had the chance to sample the food. Speaking of the food, it was far from the authentic Thakali experience that was promised. The menu boasted a wide variety of dishes, but the execution fell short in every aspect. The flavors were bland, lacking the robustness and depth that one would expect from Thakali cuisine. The presentation was haphazard, with dishes looking hastily put together and lacking any visual appeal. To make matters worse, the prices at Ghar Aagan Thakali Kitchen were exorbitant for the quality of food and service provided. Great spot for a quick thakali lunch. All though they do have lots of other items on the menu. Traditional thakali is the way to go here. Parking for cars can be a issue.

Worst!! Food : 0 less variety,fish curry was awful. Ambience: bhati type. Service: 1, I spilled my water, they didn't even clean properly.

For someone who is not from Nepal and would like to enjoy the tradition Nepali food, they can visit here. It has a nice set up, the ambience is perfect to enjoy Nepali food. It's one of the 1st Thakali eateries and I liked the taste of the food and and hospitality.

Do not ever go here EARLY morning, coz they will feed you stale meat from last day. Had to suffer from gastroenteritis after the food there. Atmosphere is only good. Service is also not good in comparison to other thakalis. Overall, over rated and the price in comparison to food quality is not justified.

Food and service is really good

This used to be best place around my home for proper dal bhat. But food quality seems to be degraded recently. We were served साधेको चिकन छोइला as one of item along with our khana set. It smelled like rotten but nevertheless thought we might be over reacting 3 of got diarrhoea, the only 1 who didn't was my brother who ate dhido and wasn't served that छोइला। Staffs were very nice and helpful. Just wish they pay attention to food quality.

Not the best thakali khana set in Kathmandu, considering the price. I did like the chicken liver Choila they served along with the thakali set.

It's a lovely restaurant for those wishing a traditional cuisine and environment, with the highlight menu being the famous 'Thakali Khanna' a dish with a variety of side dishes along with fresh steamed rice. The waitress are well trained. However they should improve their other menu items, such as the Japanese dishes offered which really feels tacky.

This place is amazing for thakali food .. and one of the best places for me i had visited here 4 year ago for the first time and i still get excited to visit here go with friends and family.. and have food like mustang ko aalu lokkal kuhura with gheu .. all food recommended

The vibe and the feel of the restaurant was very authentic and what a thakali cuisine restaurant should have but I did not feel the welcoming vibe and the staff weren't as polite as you'd hope them to be.
