It is the Nine storey palace built by King Prithvi Narayan Shah in traditional Newar style with many wooden inscriptions and carvings in the windows and 'tudaals'. Top floor is walled all around by 'aakhijhyal' through which one can have nice view of the valley. Damaged by 2015 earthquake and under reconstruction.

The nine-storied palace must have been a great sight but today it is still heavily in restoration after it toppled in the 2015 earthquake. The only thing you can see currently is the outside and yellow caskets of the workers :-)

Awesome, beuatiful, amazing and peaceful place. I think no words can describe the value for this place. The whole area is filled with joy, love and awesomeness. You can spend an entire day there just by watching the people passing by that area. At the center of such a crowded city, there lies a peaceful place. If you ever been in Kathmandu for some reason, I'll highly suggest you to be there once. You'll really like it, no doubt.

It's a beautiful historical monument which was destroyed by earthquake. It's under reconstruction and hope to see it as tall as it was.
