This temple is located in Mrigasthali between Pashupatinath temple and Guhyeshwari temple. Gorakhnath temple is red and white in color. It is built in the style of peaks. It is dedicated to the 11th century yogis who established the Shaivite monastic tradition and invented Hatha Yoga. Gorakh Nath temple is attractive. There are various monasteries around this temple. Gorakhnath is also called the national god. It is mentioned in the history that King Prithvinarayan Shah started uniting Nepal by his grace. If you are visiting this area, you should also visit this temple.

Beautiful Temple with its own historical and cultural background. I feel wonderful and amazing after visiting this Temple. Temple is made for representing Gorakhnath Baba. The architectural design of Temple also looks more amazing and beautiful. Also lots of monkeys seen near the Temple. Spiritual place to visit. #GorakhnathTemple #Pashupatinath #Nepal

A Historical site of Spiritual and Holy Importance. The 1400 year old holy fireplace ( Dhuna ) of the Gorakhnath Baba still remains ignited by the Nath Yogi Community serving the daily rituals and Traditions of this Temple. The Rana Prome Ministers built an Ashram for the Nath Yogis to ease their problems of proper Accomodations in a dense Jungle over populated with crowds of Monkeys. This Place has the Samadhis of great Yogis from the recent past and is named as the "Siddhachala Parbat, Mrigasthali" which Generally means the Mountain of the Siddhas and located in the Beautiful Plateu of the Mrigasthali where Lord Shiva once enjoyed as a Single Horned Deers in the Satya Yuga. A major Attraction for the Visitors and Pilgrims in the Pashupatinath Area. But the activities of the recent two decades suggests this place needs proper conservation and a healthy Management regarding the Cleanliness and Garbage Issues. Despite being in the Ticketed Entry Area of the Pashupatinath Area which is enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage site the PADT(Pashupati Area Development Trust) does nothing much responsibly in the Area which is visible upon the garbage littered on this Holy Area, No words need to be spoken. But above all its a holy place where we could even meet with Siddhas if we're fortunate and get there on a Holy time :)

A great site to visit and a special architecture that sets it apart from the rest of what you see at the Pashupatinath site. Be sure to visit this as it is really special.

Large parts of it are just dirty and smelly. Lots of people dump their garbage on the ground, not worth the visit.
