It's a beautiful and peaceful place on the mountain in the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. A favorite destination for hiking as well. We have to pass through a thick jungle and enjoy a very peaceful environment. The sounds of the birds makes the hiking more entertaining. A splendid view of the Kathmandu valley could be seen from the ways. It takes around 2 hours (normal walking) to reach the Gumba from the round way from the eastern side. There is stiff climbs and narrow passages. Need more endurance power to move a head. After almost an hour of climbing the route becomes some how wider and plain. We had a route guide with us. So I could not exactly tell the name of the villages we passed through. We moved towards the east side and later turned to west and entered the Shivapuri national park. At last we reached the Gumba where it was so peace and calm. Student monks (many kids) were there discussing about their exam which they had just appeared. The main gumba is very beautiful with various statues there. It worth visiting the place. People also continue their hiking to the top of the mountain. There is also a small canteen where tea, biscuits, noodles etc are available for light breakfast. we also took noodles and tea. after few minutes of rest and photo clicks, we returned back. As it was saturday, school students were also on the way with their teachers. we took the main route of the National Park. and arrived at the main entrance of the park. It was wonderful and very exciting hiking. You must hike there and don't forget to take water with you. If possible, you can take dry foods of your choice as well. I will definitely visit again this place.

Hiked from my home in Narayanthan to Nagi Gumba with my two sons. Could spot few birds on the way luckily no wild animals. The hike is uphill and has a good climb and we can see Kathmandu far below in the haze. Totally forested it is cool and Serene... The climb to the gumba is about 200 steps and finally you reach the Gumba where only nuns are kept. While returning took the jungle short cut which was even more fun.

Such a beautiful place on the lap of shivapuri forest, took about 1.5 hrs to reach from shivapuri main entrance gate. Four wheel vehicle can reach just below Nagi Gumba then have to ascend for about 15-20 min to reach at the top of Nagi Gumba. On a clear weather, one can enjoy beautiful view of landscape

A beautiful place, secluded and peaceful. We took a rather unusual path descending west through the forest after climbing the hill in Tarebhir, but the place can be reached by a decent road as well. The environment is serene, you can feel the cool breeze bringing mist every now and then revealing and covering the view below.

Located in Shivapuri National Park. Small hike from the entrance gate. Stunning views of the jungle and city. Buddhist temple is a gumba where many kids study as well.

It is inside the Shivpuri Nagarjun National Park. It takes around an hour to reach there from Panimuhan to the gumba. View of the valley was compromised due to on going construction and barriers. If you want to have a good view of the valley, opt for another gumba above budhanilkantha.

Quiet place in the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park that can be easily reached on foot. The place looks very new and you can sit and watch the life go by, especially inside the temple. There is also a little shop where you can buy small things (like bottled water).

Good for Short Hiking. Peacefull Area at the top with fresh air and view. People bringing all the Junk Food from the city to this natural space is the worst part I experienced. Please bring some fresh food and be with nature 🙏 Donot bring those nonsense music speaker, just be with the sound of trees, water, air,... Donot take all those City Stuffs to the place. Bring more Awareness and Love ❤️😍

Famous Buddhist Monastry located inside Shivapuri National Park. One of the destination over hike round Shivapuri. Can go here mainly from two routes, from Budhanilkantha and from Dadagaun. Shall take tickets from the Army Camps to enter here from two Check Posts. Overlooking the Budhanilkantha Temple, Nagi Gumba is located at an elevation of 1650 meters north of Kathmandu. This monastery is also known as "Ani (Nun) Gumba" because only nuns reside there. This monastery is home to 200 nuns who practice Buddhism, and it also functions as a training facility for new nuns. You can meditate like most tourists do here while also observing the Nuns' austere way of life. The incense scent, prayer sounds, prayer flags, and prayer wheels will all surround you and make you feel peaceful. Without a doubt, Nagi Gumba is the ideal place to re-energize your tired body, mind, and soul. There are benches placed around the large field to provide you with comfort. Here, you can watch the yellow monastery, the nearby flags sway, the clouds above float, the birds fly, and, most importantly, you can watch yourself loving the peace within and around you. There is a lot to like here. A small glimpse of the simple life lived here by the nuns in service of the monastery and its visitors, for example, will warm your heart.

On Shivapuri Hill, there is a Buddhist nuns-only monastery called Nagi Gumba. Both residents and visitors frequently practice meditation here. The monastery can be recognized by its flapping prayer flags and the nuns chatting and working nearby.

This is a very quiet monastery where you can stop for refreshments and snacks, but also visit the temple as it is often open and many monks officiate.

This is a lovely spot to hike to. The temple is beautiful and serene. You'll have a good view of the valley if the air is clear, which is unlikely before monsoon season. It is a great break from the polluted air in town. We stayed nearby at Meraki Wellness Centre, which is a few minutes' walk from the hotel, so it's a great base. We didn't manage to go much farther than the monastery because of lighting it's supposed to be really beautiful. You should stop at the monastery for a break and some snacks.

Beautiful, peaceful and small ghumba in shivapuri. One the best place for short hike. It took us one and half hour from shivapuri national gate to reach nagi ghumba. And we also spotted deer on the way.

Expected a lot more forest area, but it was so-so. Other than that, it is a very good place to hangout and for people who want to start hiking.

Its an amazing place to visit if you are in search of a peaceful place. Peace directly flows through your vein at this place. Beautifully designed Gumba, super chilled natural water, hill with dense forest beside the Gumba, running breezes, beautiful garden, silent environment and the inner peace which automatically generate inside us, I think these are enough reasons to visit this place.

Peaceful place with view of Kathmandu valley and mountain ranges. Will be a good hiking for a day. Resting after a hike with the feel of cool breeze passing through, it's awesome.
