Your Nepali Home away from home ! Anything you can be looking for while travelling: clean and confortable place in a very nice building with rooftop, a beautiful garden to relax and enjoy the sun, and a cute and fun dog. It is a the peaceful and quiet place, and the staff is amazing! They are beautiful people, kind-hearted, and they will help you with anything: food, transportation, trekking, volunteering, local advices… Besides, they are involved in local charity projects. You will for sure meet great people there and have a wonderful time!

The best hostel in Kathmandu! Incredible value for the money. It is run by 5 friends and they are really great. They offer a great breakfast for only 200-300 rupees. They are extremely helpful and will drop anything in a heartbeat to help their guests. The hostel is VERY clean, they have western toilets and hot showers. The wifi works great and they have backup networks if needed. The building is very cool, with rooftop access for watching the sunsets. What I loved most was the location, and I found Thamel too busy and loud. It is only 10 minutes to Thamel by bus, which was very cheap (only 10 rupee) and easy to find. The neighbourhood is very quiet and safe, as it is next to the police station. You will experience the real Nepal by meeting the locals and eating in small family run restaurants. It is close to many supermarkets as well as temples. They offer an airport pickup, which I highly recommend as it will most likely be cheaper and more efficient than local taxi. They also have a trekking company (Budget Trekking) which I booked a trek with and it was amazing, highly recommend. I only planned to stay for 1 night but ended up staying for over a week. They treat you like family, and I will miss it greatly.

This is a fantastic place just outside the hustle and bustle of the tourist places of kathmandu. The incredibly welcoming staff make this place a home from home. These guys are affiliated with budget trekking company, and helped me out with an adventure of a lifetime! The 18 day trek to everest base camp will be one if the most memorable moments of my life! And they really care too. I owe a lot to these guys and I hope (whoever is reading this) I think it's the best!!! Make sure you get here..

We Checkin at 05th April 2019 and today at 11th April 2019 we are leaving to India.. We all loved the pleasent stay and humble- polite staff of dormitory Nepal. We visit Kathmandu for Rifle Shooting Seminar with our team. First our plan was to stay here only four days after that we want to shift at any 4star hotel but really i shocked that after four days each &every players wants to stay here. So today we are moving to India. I highly appreciate dormitory Nepal for nice and polite behaviour. Clean bed. .Clean room.. nice building and the most important thing that i realized.. It is safe. . Super cozy place, away from bussy Thamel center, the staff is super friendly, always caring and helping with whatever you need for your stay, they also have a trekking agency with really good non-turístic hikes, when we visita Nepal again we Will definetly come back to dormitory Nepal, thanks for everything!

Dormitory Nepal takes a great pleasure in thanking our guests for staying at our property and and making it the best hostel in Kathmandu. We would not have made it this far without the lovely souls who decided to call our property home away from home.

From booking to leaving I was looked after by Govinda and his lovely friendly team. He organised day trips for me everyday so I got the most out of my trip in Kathmandu. I only booked for two nights and stayed for five nights and I will go back there when I return to Kathmandu. For me, as a solo traveler it’s important for me to feel comfortable and safe and be around nice people. It was a quiet time at the hostel so I just spent time with the staff or I was out exploring with Govinda. I really didn’t have to think about anything as I was completely taken care of. As a poor traveller I don’t ususally leave tips but I couldn’t leave without giving one to Govinda. The bill at the end was far too cheap for the experience I had had there, it just didn’t seem fair. Do not hesitate in booking this place.

I'd searched for an apartment for three months and came across Dormitory Nepal. This dormitory has the charm of a Buddhist retreat place: It is located in a residential area, offers a pleasant calm contrasting the otherwise very hectic, noisy and smoggy city. The staff is very generous. They have mastered the preparation of the traditional Nepalese dish Dal Bhat. Since I had booked three months a really fair price was offered. I was helped out extremely generously, with exotic loans such as an electric guitar! All requests were met right away. A coffee or tea is prepared at any time upon request. The staff is very open and participates intelligently and with great interest in talks regarding the history or politics and, of course, trekking and other excursions in the country. During the time that I could be there warm friendships have developed with the staff that outlast my departure. I highly recommend this Dormitory!
