Wonderful Host and Hotel would a 100% Recommend coming here! The owner is very friendly and treats you like family. The location is nice it's away from all the noise of the bars and clubs so you can have a good nights rest. But still very close to the centre of Thamel.

We were 3 people traveling and stayed in Kathmandu for our work-related trip. We stayed at Newa Home for about 10 nights. The hotel is just on the outer part of Thamel so it was quieter at night compared to the center. It was very easy to get to Thamel center by walking just a little. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was an air conditioner in the room but we barely used it because the weather was nice in April. The owner (Mr. Prem) and his family was very friendly, humble, genuine and kind. Mr. Prem always invited us for a cup of tea which was really nice (probably the best one we had in Nepal). He also gave us suggestions of places to visit and helped us find a taxi, and also helped us when we first arrived at around 9pm and did not have any money in Rupees to pay for dinner at the restaurant nearby. We really appreciated all the warm welcome and their hospitality. We had a very great time staying here. Would absolutely come back to stay here and recommend to friends!

Loved the aesthetics of the place. The room was clean and had nice rustic decor. The staff/owner were helpful with every requests. However there were a few hiccups which is why I have deducted 2 stars. First, we were given a different room than what we were shown (we did a direct booking). The room seemed smaller but it was okay, so we settled for it. The bathroom, however, was extremely small. There is heavy power outages, sometimes for 3-4 hours at a stretch. There was power backup for a single light but none for the AC and it was an extremely hot day in Kathmandu. Another issue that we had was with the sockets in the room. There were around 6 sockets around the room but only 2 worked, one of which had a loose connection. Overall, it's a decent place if the above mentioned points could be taken care of.

Such a pleasure staying a Newa Home! The staff are amazing and make you feel like you are at home. The rooms are comfortable with AC and private bathrooms available. The location is excellent as everything is easily accessible yet off from the hustle and bustle so you can relax. There is a beautiful rooftop garden that is an excellent place to sit and enjoy. We have stayed here multiple times and will definitely be back

Lovely guest house on a quiet side street just off the main road. Owners made us feel at home right away. Beautiful building with nice traditional carved woodwork and brass accents. Lovely rooftop garden area with a view across the valley.

Newa Home is such a nice boutique hotel with beautiful interior designs. The hotel is located along a quiet street, but within walking distance to Thamel district. The room is very clean and beds were very comfortable. The hotel owner was really nice and friendly. On our arrival, he offered as tea and recommended places around Kathmandu to visit. Would definitely recommend this place!

Such a hidden jam in the middle of the busy Thamel. This homestay has an authentic charm, history and amazing hospitality. I returned here for the second time and was greeted like a part of the family. Very convenient location, walking distance to all facilities, restaurants and attractions. Highly recommend this home-like beautiful stay!

Very beautiful cultural reflectance ambience, quiet and nice view from the terrace. The room were reasonable, we can make our own food inside the room like in home and the owner along with the stuff were super welcoming and humble. Great experience 👍 Highly ecommended.

This is a home from home stay. Prem is the kindest man who made us feel so welcome and even brought us hot water bottles! The rooms are lovely and clean, and the beds are super comfy. There’s a lovely roof terrace where we were treated to tea and snacks. The staff are all lovely and the Homestay is in a great location. Would 100% recommend! We are returning on our way home. Thank you for a lovely stay.

I stayed in newa home for 2 days i was with my wife for the holidays the ambiance was awesome the host uncle and the brother who received us was very polite and help full the served us with a black tea with mint at the time of check in which was very refreshing. It is just a walking distance from the thamel market. Highly recommended hotel.

Whenever you*re looking for a quiet and central place in Kathmandu - this is your spot. The owner of the hotel helps with evreything whatever you need. You can have a breakfast or a good Yoga practice on the beautiful terrace with the view on the Himalayas. Or have a nice chat and food with the family of the hotel. They also have a backup for the power cuts in Kathmandu. So you sit never in the darkness :) Get the best Momos in front of the hotel in the Restaurant Secret Garden. I would ALWAYS come back here. Newa home is much more than a hotel...it is warmth and welcoming people, attention and helpfulness to make your stay really very pleasant...I was travelling with my bicycle and they kept my box safe with my belongings until I returned from my adventure...it is located in a really good spot, far from the chaos but at the same time close to every shop or restaurant within walking distance. I had a really good time and I highly recommend it!

Newa Home is a lovely place to stay! The owner is super lovely and helpful. Go and have tea on the rooftop terrace and you can meet the other guests and ask for recommendations on where to go Rooms are comfy and if you get a room with a kitchen then you get a gas cooker and lots of utilities - though no fridge! Two big supermarkets are nearby 😁

This is a beautiful treasure little hotel where you feel home right away: the owner is warmly welcoming you, it is beautifully decorated with Newari elements and well located in a quit street, yet still in Thamel where you can join the excitement and business right away if you want. And as a female solo traveller, I highly recommend :)

We were received on our day 1 with the best Nepali hospitality one can ask for- lunch with tasty authentic Nepali food. The owner is very kind and the staff were very helpful.

Pirem and his family are amazing ! I have been there at 2018 when the place is new and i loved it ! Then this year i came back with my wife and saw nothing changed, rooms are still clean, staff with happy face ! Also amazing wiev of Katmandu from roof top. Very special place - a quiet spot away from the bustle of Thamel, but close to everything. I loved my neat atmosphere room and extended my stay by two nights. The owner is extremely kind and supplied copious cups of mint tea from the garden upstairs :D

Everything was very fine until I lost my silver chain pendant there. When I mistakenly left there my chain and next day i went to ask, they couldn't find it. I am sure I left it there. Please do check it again.

I have been to this hotel three times. I had it as a place to rest and relax between travel and travel in Nepal. I have to emphasize that the staff was always very attentive, polite and friendly. The building is beautiful, with many Newar architecture and design decorations. The rooms are comfortable although sometimes there was no very hot water, only warm and the wifi although it was fast, sometimes it fails and there was no connection so I can not give 5 stars rating. But still I value it as very cozy and recommendable. Thanks for everything.

Nice clean place with very nice and helpful staff. They arranged a taxi pick up for us from the airport. The location of the building is really good, close to all the good stuff but away from all the intense traffic noise.We booked a "quiet" room but not sure if we got it. It was quiet only when there was nothing happening on the street just below our window. The shop owners start opening their shops very early in a loud manner, dogs barking etc etc. Nevertheless, a good and comfy place to stay.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights and we're treated like family. I can't say enough about the owners ... They even made us dinner at 10:30 pm because everything was closed. The rooms were really beautiful with exposed brick walls and very nice furniture. Our room came with a kitchen and a bathroom that has hot water 24/7 ... It's a especially nice on cold nights. We met a family that has staying here for moths ... I can understand why. I would highly recommend this place.

After a long, exhausting day of exploring the bustling alleys and streets of Kathmandu, coming home to a nice and friendly place is the cherry on top to a wonderful traveling experience. Newa Home provides a safe haven from the clamor and fast paced life that is Kathmandu. The clean and comfortable accommodations are not even the best feature of the hotel as the hosts/owners do everything in their ability to ensure you are having a great time, whether it is serving you complimentary hot tea, providing tasty snacks, helping you plan your days, or simply giving you a warm smile. The open floor architecture style is beautifully paired with Newari decor and exposed brick. Best of all, the price is very affordable and has been a highlight of my visit to Kathmandu.

This place in Thamel is so beautiful, and the owner is the best ! Very kind, he will give you a lot of advises and recommendation about places and what to see in Nepal. His tea is incredible and will be served in the rooftop garden which is quiet. We spent 6 nights in a double room with very nice beds. Thank you for all and see you next time 😉

Cozy place, not so noisy to compare with Tamel streets, but it is also near. Nice rooftop with a lot of flowers. Good stuff and reasonable prices. In a wet seasons better to get upper floors, for less humidity.

Amazing place - we booked via Agoda, however were told that they do not have an Agoda account and our booking did not exist. They kindly set us up with another room at a good rate and we ended up staying here longer than expected. The space is beautiful with a lovely rooftop area where they serve tea and coffee. The room is sparkling clean and beds are super comfortable. It’s relatively quiet and tucked away from the bustle of the main area of Thamel. Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a bit more of a luxury getaway!

Newa Home is a very affordable and centralized hotel. It is about 10 minute walk from Lord of the drinks and Thamel. The hotel is clean and offers hot water. The owner is very serviceable and nice. He prepares teas for his tenants and serves it on a relaxing rooftop. The owner also offers great tourist advice and helps with getting taxis and other logistics if needed.

The owner of the place was very welcoming and made us a nice stay. He is happy to arrange a lot besides the accommodation. Walking distance to nice shops, restaurants etc. in Thamel. Nice roof terrace. Value for money is great!

Every time I’m back to Kathmandu I’m back to this guesthouse! Such a nice owner! Every morning we sat on a cup of tea at his beautiful rooftop. The rooms are great and the bathroom are clean and just the perfect size. The only issue I had was that you can hear a-lot from outside of the room but that was like that on every hostel I’ve been in. I recommend to all to visit this nice family’s home.
