1 star for the incredibly cheap price. Other stars withheld because - it's next to 2-3 mega nightclubs and it's got next to no soundproofing and because after leaving a less than 5 star review the management accused me of blatent lies, possibly in an attempt to get me to remove my review. On Friday nights very loud music is played until 6am and ear plugs are next to useless at this proximity. No AC in dorms and 1 pedestal fan. Very stuffy due to inadequate ventilation so during my stay another guest opened the window to allow more air. It was very loud with the windows closed and after shutting. Next to impossible to sleep on nights like that so although dirt cheap, it's actually not very goofy value in my opinion. If you'd like the cheapest bed in Thamel, you cannot find cheaper. If you'd like to sleep in that bed I'd encourage you to keep looking. I leave you to make your own decision. I noticed in the reply to this review the owner or management has attempted to discredit me by falsely claiming that I took free breakfast, requested other free services and am a liar and complaining person and other such nonsense. Perhaps this explains the discrepancy between the star ratings online for this business and the reality. After months, they continue to edit their response to push me to withdraw my review. I booked this place when I was incredily tired. By the time i realised how loud it really was it was late at night and i was too tired to start all over again. I checked out very early in the morning. Approx 2 hours after the music stopped at 6am and the cleaner came in shortly after. I certainly didn't request breakfast. I checked out as fast as I could. Maybe others have withdrawn their honest reviews after receiving similar retaliation. This was the first time I have left an unfavourable rating for a business, and made it after after much consideration following my 1 night stay 1 month ago. I have since adjusted my review from 2 stars to 1 star following this accusation. Please take the time to look back over other unfavourable reviews and see the pattern of the management bad-mouthing people who have left low reviews.

Not a very good place, there are plenty more places for similar prices. Bed bugs are living in this building, no doubt. I saw them pulling mattresses out from other rooms and even had the critters in my bed! This place is filthy, too. Even other hotels/hostels around the area know this one to have bed bugs! I hope they get this under control.

Detailed Review: 1. My NPR 1000/- was stolen from my bag. I took a personal room and it happened when the room was locked. 2. The property is at a very appropriate location in front of the LOD Kathmandu. 3. They mention various facilities on the hostelworld portal but they don't provide those. 4. We pay some advance while booking the room but they don't consider that amount while charging for the stay. 5. The owner didn't respond to the theft that happened so there is a big security concern on staying there. 6. The rooms and washrooms were really dirty. 7. Wifi was not working properly.

My wife and I who is of Indian heritage, booked online and arrived early in the morning after a night bus from pokhara. We were greeted by a staff member who took our details and said to come back around 8am as our room would be ready then. First impressions were pretty bad as luggage storage room smells like urine and there was papers thrown over the floor in reception. So we went to have some breakfast and came back at 830 and sat and waited as there was no body on reception. Around 10 mins later a guy came in off the street and started asking talking to another person who was also waiting to book some tickets. After the staff member was done he came directly over to my wife who was seated on the couch by herself and told her to get up and leave. We quickly said no we have a booking and are waiting. He continued to be rude, and didn't even offer an apology. We said we have been waiting for our room as we checked in earlier and why is he talking to us like that. Assuming because my wife is brown she was not welcome in this hostel. After that we left and and found a another place nearby called Holy Lodge, very friendly and welcoming staff, nice relaxed court yard with good food. Located in central Thamel this offers cheap dorm rooms and has a travel agent on ground floor. There is a small free breakfast. The facilities are a little worn as others have said it really suffers from not having common areas. A re-decoration would really help. It's not bad but there are nicer places nearby for a similar price.

The location is good. I have read some comments where people complained about the noise that comes from the nightclub that is on the opposite side of the hostel. I haven't experienced it, because the nightclub opposite the hostel remained closed throughout the time I was there(I stayed for 3 months at the hostel) so it might be different if the nightclub is open. The place is fairly clean. have a kitchen at the top floor and some table and chairs on the rooftop to enjoy your food.

Good location. You can go to tourist attractions, restaurants and shops around by walking The room is not too narrow. But if you want a bigger, more comfortable room, you have to look elsewhere and pay more. If you want to go hiking You don't have to worry The owner can manage everything for you. He is happy to help you with everything. Value for money place. I think this place is the cheapest. If you want a cheap and good value accommodation, I recommend it. Look everything beautiful Eating for value then your trip will be the happiest journey

On my shoe string trip to Kathmandu added with unavailable internet, i reached Kathmandu asking people about Thamel. When i reached Thamel it was already a different world together. Probably the most cosmopolitan/international of all the places in Nepal, and there i come across this beautiful hostel. The receptionist gentleman who was kind enough to avail me a clean/beautiful bed at amazing price. This place is now added into my memory.

Confutable room, private shower room with breakfast. and also give a locker , water for free to drink anytime. Staff is very nicest But Wifi most only working on lobby. And manager sometimes make me uncomfortable. He opened the door suddenly didn’t knocked. And have little bed bug.
