NTB as called is shorter version is a board that handles tourism related issues in Nepal. Since its establishment it has been working to generate documentaries, pamphlets, brochures, posters, stickers and many other materials that can be used to represent Nepal in outer world. It has also worked to promote tourism in/out of the country. It has friendly staff and gives you much information when required. If you are planning to visit some national parks it is better to visit this place for information and permission. It has a small hall for program and the museum is cozy

The premier institution for the tourist to get their much required information and documentation done. Its even the station for Tourist Police for complain and help. The entire complex is dedicated to the betterment of tourism sector as a whole with timely exhibition and events being organized in its premise and auditorium hall.

Disappointed at banning solo trekking in Nepal. No everybody is weak enough to need another person breathing down the neck. Are you saying that nobody ever met with an accident while with a guide? This review is not only for NBT but everyone in Nepal Govt who is responsible for this decision. Cancelling my plans.

I got my permit for annapurna here. The officer at the counter was super useful, he was able to process my application at 830 even though this office usually opens at 10am. He also let me apply without a passport photo, and hailed me a cab to get to the bus terminal. If you are purchasing a permit from overseas, it might be cheaper to pay in local currency instead of the USD they quote you.

Beware that the Everest area permit office is opened from 9AM to 2PM! Sunday - Friday. We came at 13:30 to the office. There was a lunch break at the Everest Base camp permit. The officers came at 13:45. Then they just needed our passport (you do not need to fill any form), and we paid 3.000 Rps for the one permit. Done within 5 minutes. No need of passport copies, nor the passport photos.

This is where you ca get your permit for the trekking in Nepal. Try to be there before 9 am, so you will be served first. Cost NRs 2,000 for TIMS & ACAP Card.

It's a very clean place vast and it has a great location you can get the bus or a taxi from Thamel and you should be there is no time. The stuff there are nice 👌 and I got my permit in less than 15 minutes: you need to fill in a form and get 2 photos then that's it! Some questions and answers and you should be good to go for trekking. They can provide with information about the trekking parks and the good options for you as well as the best season to go trekking. You can also get permit for other trekkers if you have all of their details.

I'm a Travel Consultant in Nepal. My company Adventure Glacier treks & expedition is affiliated with Nepal Tourism Board, which is a national tourism organization of Nepal. I’m glad that the system of the NTB is progressive and fast online system for permit application and other services for tourists.

Best place to get all your permits and TIMS. You don't need a guide/agency do it. Just go and fill up the form, this a very friendly and helpful office.

We came here looking for advice regarding transport, accommodation and the trekking permit. We got all the information we could have wished for and every question we had was answered. The employee whose name I probably didnt get quite right, I think it was Ossim or Assim, helped us tremendously and was very friendly, even though we forgot to bring some of the documents needed. All in all, we feel much better prepared for our trip now.

You don't actually have to come here for anything related to everest trekking. You can just show up to Lukla and buy everything there. The people working here at the permit desk are rude and told me to buy one of my permits when I got there. I did have to buy a permit for Langtang Valley and the people at the TIMS desk were very helpful and gave me tips on my itinerary. Only come here if you have to get a TIMS card as most permits can be bought at park entrances.

It’s over now Nepal. I am done. It’s not the tourist board, it’s the county. I was now here for 10 days and couldn’t hardly see the sky and no Himalaya at all, because of all the Smog. Neither in Nargakot nor in Pokhara or Sarankot. So why am I here? The streets are even worse then in Africa and I know you had a hard time, but it is not good to cheat me in every possible situation even when buying fruits next to the hotel Moonlight. Yes, you know how I mean! You did it once to often although your two powerful religions tell you not to do it!?! Well then good bye and good luck for the future— you will need it…

As for Nepal, this place is pretty well organised:) Helpful staff, separate rooms for different treks, places to sit, tables, pens, water and printed forms and useful maps with information. Even in peak season it’s not so crowded and things go fast.

Very helpful staff. We went here to get or TIMS as individual hikers and there wasn't any issue. They didn't provide Langtang NP permit (office was closed in December)but directed us to get it at the entry point in Dhunche on the way.

Got paperwork for trekking here. A few items we didn't see online before: - despite NTB being open 10-17, Annapurna desk was open 9-15. - unlike other reviews we were sent away (5 minutes walk) to get passport photos done (cheap, 350r). Needed only 3 (2 for Annapurna, 1 for TIMS because we filled it in online) - Annapurna permit was $30, but the TIMS was 2000 rupees. - You can prefil your tims at home online and save a few minutes here. - there was surprisingly few tourists at 10am. Would have taken 30 minutes if it wasn't for the photos. All easy and pleasant.

Fantastic service by Umesh! He really went above and beyond to help us book all our local flights and get ourselves organised for the Everest Three Passes Trek. That man deserves a promotion and a raise!

beautiful country but be aware of city guides, where they directly take you for shopping. all the city guides are gunning for commission in all the stuff you buying so if you want to get some souvenirs do it freely don't ever trust your guide and the shops where they directly takes you.

I went there to ask if a foreigner has to take a permit to go to Muktinath. We were told that the permit was not necessary by the receptionist and also by the guy in the TIMS counter. Later when we went to Muktinath temple we had to pay 6000 per person(foreigner). People working there do no have enough information even though they are the main place responsible for managing tourism industry.

The place is good and looks nice but still few things missing. Proper cleaning as lots of people visit there and also staffs needs to behave more professionally rather than being like a government staff. The property is well maintained though.
