This 2 tiered beautiful pagoda style temple of Vatsaleshwari situated on the bank of Bagmati river between Aryaghat and Bhasmeshwar shivalaya. There is no idol but only a ‘peeth’ or “Mandapa'' (Seat or pavilion). Under this mandap of this temple there is a Bairava famously known as Patal Bhairav. It is believed that goddess Parvati as a Vatsaleshwari resides here in the vicinity of Bhagwan Shiva (Pashupatinath). The Vatsaleshwari ‘Jatra’ is the most important Jatra celebrated in the Pashupati area from ‘Chaitra Krishna Chaturdashi’. After concluding Bajreshwari Jatra of”pingalasthan’, Vatsaleshwari Jatra starts for 4 days. This goddess is considered the elder sister of Naxal Bhagawati and mother of Chandra Vinayak (chahabil Vinayak). During this Jatra, Naxal Bhagawati visits Pashupati and Vatsaleshwari visits Chandra Vinayak. The maintanace of inner and outer areas of temple is not satisfactory.

6 CE temple. It is said that when Shiva found out that Parvati eats human flesh then he expel her out of Kailash. Then she came near Pashupati and start to live here. That's why human sacrifices were practiced at this temple.

The Vatsaleshwari temple is considered to be the embodiment of Goddess Mata Parvati. It is believed that Mother Parvati did not want to leave Shivaji after Lord Shiva refused to return to Kailash in the form of an animal. On the west side of this temple, stone statues of various kinds of animals have been erected. The temple area is also listed in the World Heritage List, so foreign tourists have to pay an entrance fee. This area is open 24 hours a day.

Pashupati Temple stands in the center of the town of Deopatan, in the middle of an open courtyard. It is a square, two-tiered pagoda temple built on a single-tier plinth, and it stands 23.6 meters above the ground. Richly ornamented gilt and silver-plated doors are on all sides. On both sides of each door are niches of various sizes containing gold-painted images of guardian deities. Inside the temple itself is a narrow ambulatory around the sanctum.
