We searched extensively on the internet & while in Kathmandu for a guided trekking trip to the Annapurna Base Camp. We found Landmark Discovery Treks who offered the best price for the overall package & quality of transport, accommodation, food & drinks with a guide & a porter included. We were picked up from our hotel in Kathmandu, driven to the airport for our flight to Pokhara, picked up in Pokhara in a taxi to Phedi where we began our trek. After the trek, we were picked up near Birethanti, to a very nice hotel called Lakeside Retreat. We were then driven to Pokhara airport the next morning & picked up from Kathmandu airport to our hotel. Throughout the trek, I can't feel luckier & thank our guide Ganesh & porter Bhoj enough. We wouldn't have made it all the way to ABC without them. Ganesh is very knowledgeable & experienced, having done the ABC treks 50 times (!!). He always gave very accurate time estimates to our next stops whenever we asked, and knows exactly how the routes would go (up, steep up, down, steep down, flat etc). Bhoj has done the Annapurna Circuit so ABC trek is probably an easier trip for him. Anyway, they always smiled and responded to our conversations & jokes. Never complained or refused to any of our requests. Ganesh managed to always find us a private room for 2 at all the overnight stays at the villages. In the first 2 nights we even had our own shower & toilet! We had our own room at ABC which was a luxury. Overall we were probably too well taken care of, leaving us with the only concern - to finish the trek! And we did. It was a very memorable experience and we'd recommend Landmark Discovery Treks to anyone who wanted to experience this once in a lifetime journey.

Unlike many other trekkers, I didn’t do a lot of research into touring companies. I did a google search for 3-day Poonhill treks, and Landmark Discovery popped up. I sent in an inquiry, and got a quick response from Prem Panta. Our subsequent exchange of messages told me a lot about him and his company. He offered first of all flexibility and adaptability, a complete willingness to tailor a trek to our needs and desires, at a reasonable price. He answered my questions quickly and thoroughly. Then, the morning after we arrived in Nepal, he drove an hour and a half to our hotel in Nagarkot to pick us up and discuss the details of our trek. At that meeting, he again demonstrated flexibility as we made further revisions to our plans, extending the trek an extra day and including additional transportation. In communication with our excellent guide Dev, Prem made further revisions for us in the middle of day one, revisions which certainly cost him additional expenses (which he did not pass on to us) but which made the day much more enjoyable. From all of that I can safely conclude that Prem’s primary concern is that his clients have the best, safest and most memorable experience possible, and that he goes to great lengths to make that happen. Our guide Dev was terrific, as was our porter Ek. It was obvious that they wanted us to have a great, SAFE, experience. (I’m 73 years old and an inexperienced trekker; my wife is younger and a more experienced hiker.) The accommodations on the trail were fine; our hotel room in Ghorepani had perfect, spectacular views of Dhaugiliri and Annapurna South. The automobile transportation provided was comfortable and safe with experienced and skillful drivers. After our return to Kathmandu, we had a long discussion with Prem (who accompanied us to the airport) about other tour options his company provides and which we will certainly want to do in the future. I have perfect confidence in his ability to tailor a perfect tour for us.

Landmark organised a 6 day trek to Annapurna Base Camp for me and my wife - both healthy but novice hikers. They were extremely helpful, experienced, and reasonably priced. - Landmark tailored the itinerary fit our requirements. I have just returned home after completing the Langtang Trek with Landmark Discovery Treks. It is a trek which I highly recommend.The scenery is spectacular. The facilities are great. Very comfortable guest houses. Most days I was able to have a hot shower and sometimes even an attached toilet and shower. An extensive menu as well. Anyone of normal fitness can do it. I am 74 and had no trouble in doing it in 12 days. The organisation by the company director Prem Panta was perfect. My porter Badri was first class, always attentive to my needs. I can highly recommend Landmark Discovery Treks.

It’s hard to put into words how Landmark Discovery Treks transformed our first-time journey in Nepal. I’m an avid hiker and nature lover, and I worried a bit that a porter and guide might be a constraint. In fact, their experience and patience made it possible to see and understand far more than we could have imagined. Prem responded to our request for slight modifications of our trek, anticipating our needs and tweaking plans to adjust to the many variables of skill, pace, and climate. What a life changing experience doing the Everest BC and Ghokyo trekking for 14 days.. Our guide Badri were excellent, suggesting what food to eat and what to drink. We decided to do the EBC trek with my fiancee. So I went shopping around as there are loads of trekking companies in Nepal and we were on a tight budget. I have compared around 15-20 trekking companies for the best deals. Shortlisted around 3 and eventually chose Landmark Discovery to go with. Bought our holiday well before we departed around 3 months earlier. The decision that made me chose Landmark Discovery is that the owner, Prem was always in touch with all the information I needed, very polite, flexible and helpful. The package he offered was of good price/quality. Our guide was his brother Badri who was there holding up our name on a card when we arrived at Kathmandu airport and was there to say Goodbye when we departed. He looked after us very well and made us feel special during our trek. Due to personal issues we did not have much time to prepare for our trek, and were worried if we can succeed with it. Badri has given us all the information and was supporting us all the way especially when we were very tired and struggling(yeah we had that too:). We really liked our porter Mahesh also, his spoken English was very good, later we found out he is a guide trainee, he will become a great guide we are certain, actually it was like having two guides really. Our trek was an all inclusive, which included flights to Lukla, meals, accommodation, wages for guide and porter. When choosing our meals from the menu we could choose anything we want and Badri would provide this without a fuss. (I am mentioning this because prices vary on the menu, and meal money is given to the guides to pay with. Read about other guides trying to convince their trekkers to choose the cheaper meals from the menu as is ''much safer'' and later when paying would notice guides and porter's splitting overleft money which should have gone for the trekkers meals. I have also read many reviews online about companies that make trekkers sick and send them down with the Helicopter with AMS(this is how they bank a lot of money) and this was another worry. Given the fact that we have never been in Nepal trekking, I hope you can understand this. Just to say we feel blessed we have come across Landmark Discovery and met kind people who made our Holiday one of the best we had. If we are going back in the future? I have used this company 4 times now for treking in Nepal. The most recent was 10/23. I just have to show up at the airport and they take care of everything else. The price they quote includes everything they say with no hidden extras. Of course I always tip my porter and guide. On this last trip our guide, Badri, really came through for us. Luckla airport had been closed for 5 days due to weather and our flight was the next morning. When we woke up the airport was still closed. There were dozens of people seeking an alternate helicopter ride off the mountain but they were all booked for days. Badri called a freind of his and after we hiked down out of the clouds a helicopter was sitting there waiting just for us while all the other people with their guides were waiting for days and hours for a ride. We made our international flight as planned. I highly recommend this company.
