Seven people visited to eat pancakes. Of the four kinds of pancakes ordered, it was said after 30 minutes that two can not be made, ordered substitution, and it was one and a half hours to have all gathered! I also did it later. Moreover, one of them complained to the manager that the inside is raw, "This is not cookable", "I do not care how much anything", when I complained to the manager, I was told that "If you want to eat quickly you can go to McDonalds." Of course, the taste of all the pancakes is very bad, it takes too much time and it is completely cold, so it is not something you can eat. It is an unexpected store that is ordered to go to McDonald's, slow, bad, raw.

I was sitting in the rooftop alone enjoying a beer and a book. The waiter asked me to go inside so a group could use my place. I replied that I wouldn't mind to share the table but I really wanted to stay out in the terrace. The waiter stayed walking around me and staring at me for 15 min until he commanded me to leave the table. I then left the bar but he asked me to pay the beer. I've never been treated in such a way in a bar

Nice place to hangout with friends. It got good music, great food taste and variety of drinks. The ambiance of Fat Monk's is very lively which makes it even more intersting. Moreover the crowd is quiet in Fat Monk's good. If you are looking for a place to sit and dance with friends in budget, this is the right choice. :)

The place is cool and decorative, a really nice spot to chill out. However it is disappointing that the food is only mediocre. We had chicken fried rice and veg chowmein, it was bland and oily.

What a lovely, cosy bar! We stumbled across it on our first day in Kathmandu and it is still our favourite after being here for over a week. The staff are so friendly and the service is great. Good selection of drinks and we’ve even had dinner here which did not disappoint. Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely return 😊

Amazing cocktails as long you specify exactly what you want (eg. no syrup), small rooftop space, average food, good service. I go here often for predrinks when in thamel.

In my experience I would say the environment is good but that’s not enough when you are there to enjoy the food and that’s the problem. Seriously need to improve the standard of the food. If you want the authentic THAKALI sets make your way out of it, as I wouldn’t recommend it. Food hygiene need to improve as well. My experience was little disappointing from the beginning as they couldn’t make what we ordered. I hope they will improve the service as we had to shout again and again for service. Overall not recommended.

Loved this cosy roof top bar. The atmosphere was fun the beer was cold the service was good. The heater was appreciated. And the live music was really good. Was a good chilled Friday evening in Thamel (didn’t eat there but food looked good too)

What a super little find. A great roof terrace to get above the hustle and bustle of daily Thamel. The staff were super friendly and helpful but the food was banging too

Pizza didn't seem stone baked as described at all, wasn't bad but wasn't good, was definitely something that seemed frozen and warmed up then just covered it cheese. Tacos mediocre, chicken wings cooked to a crisp. Whiskey sour not sour at all. Great ambience, good music and quick service however food was severely lacking in taste and overpriced. Service charge is also already added to the price so you have no control on this if the service wasn't any good. Would definitely recommend for a beer or coffee to relax and watch live music. Also a guy standing outside the entrance dressed in a uniform what I can only presume was the security guard pestered us for a tip on the way out.

My husband ordered a whisky that cost 500 rp,and pointed it out on the menu for the staff. When the bill arrived - it cost 10000 rp. When we asked - they said double shot. Well, this is a RIP OFF !!!!!!!!!!! YOU CANNOT DO THIS WITHOUT ASKING THE CUSTOMER IF HE ORDERED A DOUBLE. My husband did not order a double. Dont support this kind of businesses !!!!!! There is many honest places in Thamel. Fat Monks is not. Shame on you !!!!! This is how you loose customers.

Good ambience good music and a good regular chill out place! Just don't order thakali set from here (only item good was daal - others items were below average). Other food items seem to fine.

I ordered just one masala tea and it took 20 minutes. The table next to me that arrived 10 minutes after me were served their masala tea before me. Ridiculous. They played the SAME EXACT SONG on repeat for the whole hour I was there. So unbelievably annoying to hear one song on repeat. Tea was ok.

Its really a chill place, the staff were friendly and always attending to our needs checking on us. No doubt their cocktails were good and also we order some bar snacks were good as well! I have been here for a few times now. Will be back again!

The place is nice and cosy, but I would not recommend ordering anything western there. I asked about house wine, about which grape, the waiter had no clue. Sp, I ended up with ice tea. Chicken sadeko was ok, but I ordered greek salad, and they first served me with their village salad and the waiter had no clue what kind of salad he was serving me. I asked them to check and when they came back, my greek salad turned to be their village salad with some cheddar cheese on. Definitely not impressed with the food and service.

Friendly waiter, a bit costly food with nearly views for being a roof top. Overall positive experience!

We showed up during happy hour, and the sign outside advertised 4 beers for 3. However when we paid they told us that the beer that we drank (Ghorka) was exempt from this and charged us the price for all 4. This was very misleading, since the sign didn't specify any kind of beer and we asked about happy hour when we arrived and they confirmed it was 4 for 3.

Came on a Monday evening and the guy singing was really good 👍🏻 great place if you like some live music.
