Kamal Pokhari had restored by Kathmandu Metropolitan City. The restoration project has receive protests for using concrete which deteriorates the originality of the traditional pond in the capital city. Beautiful and peaceful environment. Kamalpokhari is a beautiful place, I noticed that there are some management problems here. They kept rubbish but I saw garbage in the pond too. The Kamalpokhari Management Committee saw what appropriate and systematic steps should be taken for the management and cleaning of the Kamal pokhari.

It used to be marsh waste land with all sewerage connected to it. It has been transformed and construction is going on which seems good. Hopefully they just dont make it all concrete and give a traditional llok. It is great to have pond and park in the center of crowded city like Kathmandu.

Have been here in the evening. Good place to hangout by small lake in kathmandu, even exercise if you are near there. Though pond smells fishy due to untimely cleanliness, you get used to the smell and enjoy the beauty.
