A dainty old-school cafe with rustic charms - love the vibe of this place! Great to chill after your dinner with a tea/coffee and some small treats for yourself. I got the Masala Milk Tea (NPR 80) and their Lemon Sugar Crepe 🍋 (NPR 190 for 2 rolls) - it was very soft and delicious! Go! 😉😉😉

Fantastic little coffee shop with great sandwiches. Try the Banana, Peanut Butter, Honey sandwich. Their tea is great and they even sell it by the teapot full too. There's also a room for smoking out back. It's one of the best breakfast spots in Kathmandu.

A tiny, friendly coffee shop with good service and food. I barely heard any English spoken in my hour spent here - always nice in a touristy city. The small pot of coffee was enough for 3 cups of coffee and do have wifi! The wafer was more like a crispy waffle and they have lots of breakfast food.

Nice coffee shop in Thamel. Their sandwich is so testy. You must go for breakfast and their black coffee is so good. I bought books and bought some organic Nepali teas and Himalayan salt just next to that coffee shop. They have two rooms. One inside another outside. Ground floor shop.

Most nice western breakfast I tried in Thamel, Kathmandu. Coffee is of good quality and their service is professional because they provide different sizes for beverages.

Unpretentious, small cafe in Thamel. Visited 5 mos ago. My friend and I would come here for their Masala milk tea. I think they make it really good.

Best coffee in town, with delicious Banana Pancake. Always look forward to come here for the coffee and food again! Here am I, back again after last visit in 2016. I’ll definitely visit again when I’m back in Thamel in the future.

It was a very low key vibe kind of place then items on the menu are comparatively very reasonable. The coffee seems to be a filter coffee or some sorts it was really good. You should check that place out in case you are near that area

Quaint little cafe in Thamel - cozy and servicing value for money breakfast meal all day long. Seating space is limited. For larger group (above 2 pax), recommend you get here before 8am as this place gets busy at breakfast and you may need to wait. Servers were friendly but spoke very little English (they didn’t understand well cooked/well done eggs, to put this into context). I ordered the Chikusa breakfast (without sausage) and my husband had the cheese sandwich. The bread is nice and the coffee is strong… if you like Starbucks, this coffee is not for you. The cheese sandwich is nice but a bit bland, we had to put salt and pepper ourselves. That said the atmosphere is cozy, like your neighbourhood cafe where everyone knows everyone. Would recommend visitors to try this place for a homey breakfast.

The Chikusa Cafe, Kathmandu, Nepal is well worth a stop or two. During my 8 day stay in Kathmandu I frequented the cafe a number of times. The service is excellent, being attentive and timely. The fare is humble but well prepared with prompt delivery. The teas and coffees are Nepali and I enjoyed having both. I also enjoyed the setting both inside and viewing the street scene through the shop front windows. The cafe entrance has 6 or so tables and counter sitting. The back room is more spacious.

A perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of Thamel. This charming and relaxing cafe serves great value hot drinks and food. I had their masala tea and a honey, peanut butter and banana sandwich. Friendly service and they even helped arranged a taxi for me.

I love this little cafe. It opens early in the morning and does a great range of tea, coffee and food at affordable local prices. I really enjoyed the banana chocolate crepes.

Hands down the best coffee we had in Kathmandu. Ordered the breakfast and it was simple but delicious, especially the toast. The service was polite and very efficient. Very reasonable price for the set breakfast which included coffee

This is a biased rating based on the food I ordered which was hot chocolate and peanut butter toast. I didn't like the hot chocolate at all, it was more like very sweet milk with some drinking chocolate added to it. The toast for the peanut butter was also okay, since th bread wasn't toasted well. These are basic things, and i believe if it is on the menu it should be done right. P.s. there were a couple of people around me who loved the coffee they ordered, next time maybe I'll try that!

It's always good here. The coffee is good the toasted sandwiches - especially the tuna and egg (though peanut butter and banana is also very nice). I love the atmosphere here too. There's a good mix of locals and tourists. I usually come for breakfast (open from 7.30am) but have eaten lunch and dinner here too.

Great hot coffee! Stopped in for an Americano (100 rupees) while I walked the streets of Thamel. I typically grabbed a juice across the street but early In the morning, they hadn't opened, so I went for coffee.

How affordable is it?: Super affordable! 💰✅✅✅ 👍 Pros: Drinks and breakfast meals are super affordable in a city where everyone is trying to rip foreigners off. 👎 Cons: It’s a tiny, little breakfast shop where you're always bumping elbows with other patrons. Some may call this cosy. ✨ Tips: • Do not forget to try out their handmade coffee! It’s an interesting concoction made using both a Moka pot and a French press, but it’s a banger! • If you’re looking for something without caffein, try out their ginger tea with humongous chunky pieces of freshly cut gingers.
