We
had
high
hopes
for
our
stay
at
the
Arushi
Boutique
Hotel
in
Kathmandu,
thanks
to
the
beautiful
photos
and
descriptions
online.
However,
our
experience
was
a
bit
of
a
mixed
bag
-
and
I
am
not
a
hard
customer
to
make
happy
or
one
who
has
unrealistic
expectations.
When
we
arrived,
we
were
greeted
by
a
friendly
desk
clerk
who
efficiently
checked
us
in
and
offered
welcome
drinks.
We
were
excited
to
spend
our
last
night
in
Nepal
in
a
touch
of
luxury,
so
we
booked
a
suite
and
a
deluxe
room.
We
had
to
change
rooms
due
to
the
overwhelming
smell
of
cigarette
smoke
in
the
deluxe
room.
For
anyone
who
has
smoke-free
lungs
or
breathing
problems,
make
sure
you
confirm
you
have
a
smoke
free
room.
It
was
uninhabitable,
from
my
opinion.
The
suite
was
impressive
with
a
comfortable
sitting
area,
a
luxurious
king-size
bed
with
soft
pillows,
a
rain
shower,
and
even
a
jacuzzi
tub.
The
bed
and
seating
area
were
incredibly
comfortable.
But,
the
rain
shower
didn't
quite
live
up
to
expectations,
spraying
water
in
every
direction
but
down,
and
even
in
our
eyes.
We
didn't
expect
any
issues
with
the
jacuzzi,
but
unfortunately,
the
water
had
a
yellowish
tint
that
made
us
think
twice
about
using
it.
One
of
the
hotel's
selling
points
was
the
rooftop
hot
tub,
but
it
was
out
of
order
during
our
stay,
filled
with
stagnant
water.
Although
we
were
told
it
would
be
fixed
by
the
next
evening,
we
were
only
staying
one
night.
We
did
enjoy
the
bar's
delicious
food,
and
the
bartender
was
kind
enough
to
lower
the
music
volume
so
we
could
have
a
conversation.
However,
we
found
the
cocktails
were
a
bit
watered
down
for
our
liking.
Everyone
slept
well
in
the
air-conditioned
rooms
until
around
5
am
when
a
continuous
noise,
like
washing
machines,
woke
up
those
in
the
suite.
Breakfast
was
good,
but
due
to
power
outages,
the
coffee
was
served
cold.
All
in
all,
considering
the
price
we
paid
and
the
hotel's
glamorous
images,
we
left
feeling
underwhelmed.
It's
hard
for
me
to
strongly
recommend
this
hotel.
