This is a big mosque at the centre of Kathmandu City. I prayed here the Friday (Jumna) prayer at this mosque just before the Eid Uk Azha. I was quite surprised to find such a huge mosque at a City where people are predominantly Hindu. Thousands of people attended at that Jumna. There’s a pond in this mosque for ablution. There were some vendors selling items like caps, atar and specially semai ( spaghetti) as it was just before the Eid.

My experience in Nepali jame masjid is outstanding. I felt very relaxing inside the masjid❤️. I didn't want to come out from the masjid. It is very peaceful place for Muslims who are far from there home town.

The Nepali Jame Masjid / Pancha Kashmiri Takiya Masjid commonly known as the Kashmiri Masjid, build in 15th century AD, is one of the oldest mosques of Nepal. Pancha Kashmiri Takiya Mosque Religion Affiliation: Islam Location: Kathmandu, Bagmati, Nepal Geographic coordinates: 27.7087°N 85.315°E Muslims from Kashmir entered Nepal for trade during the time of king Ratna Malla and the mosque was built in the time of king Pratap Malla. The mosque has undergone multiple renovations. More Kashmiri people came to Kathmandu due to violence in Kashmir. The current mosque was built in the times of king Prithvi Narayan Shah after the Muslims helped him to spy on Malla rulers. The mosque has three complexes viz. a prayer hall, an annexe and a madrasah. The tombs of Haji Mishkin Shah and Khwaja Gyasuddin Shah are inside the premises.

I think, it is one of the most beautiful masjid i have ever seen, which is situated in the heart of jeetpur and beside of Mahindra Highway. 🛣️

The whole of the city is so beautiful and peaceful where a long walk around the Nepali Jame Masjid mosque with views of valleys and birds chirping around makes it a must visit place.

The mosque is beautiful and it is very much crowded on friday, since people go there to read jumma namaz at 1 pm. There are parking spaces, good taps for wuzu and very large place for worship. The only drawback this mosque posses is that it is situated at very busy place at bagbazaar, so there is not so much silent as it should be to perform namaz. The horns of vehicles disturb very much.

This is central and one of oldest Masjid in Nepal. Have nice environment, also model Islamic education.
