interesting art, mediocre lighting, discriminatory ticket pricing. there are discounts for elderly and students but flat rate for 'foreigners' at price higher than all other prices. no adjustment for people on student visa in Nepal even in the face of logic. don't go unless there is some discounted event. "white face" tax pervades Nepal

Located inside the Kathmandu Guest House, it's a small scale museum but there're impressive exhibits with QR code for detailed interpretation and images on website. Nice staff. Nice visit.

This museum is amazing. It is sophisticated and measures up to international standard. Kudos to the management team. You need to get a ticket and if you have Fonepay, you can get 25% off. There are artworks and artifacts created by Nepalese artists and artisans. You will be truly amazed by the talent of Nepalese artists. Every artwork is unique and has a story to tell. There is a QR code beside every artwork that you can scan and get detailed information on the artwork. You can take pictures but flash photography is not allowed. There is a small gift shop where you can buy posters and books. Highly recommended.

A well curated museum in Kathmandu. It may lack in size but makes up for in its quality. A must visit for a serene time in the bustle of Kathmandu.

The only private museum in Nepal dedicated to Nepali art. The only place in Nepal where you get to see close to a hundred masterpieces of traditional, neo-traditional and contemporary art. Located in the heart of Kathmandu's touristic hub. Your time here is guaranteed to make you want to come back for a second helping of soul-enriching brainfeed.

Very beautiful museum in the center of Kathmandu. Actual exhibition features the work of a dedicated artist, showing sketches, final work and spiritual/cultural context. So much expertise and details. You can sit to contemplate artworks as well, write notes, take pictures. I thank the outpowering rain for making me choose this indoor visit 🌧 ticket is 500 rupies : money well spent.

Very cheap way to spend an hour or two, we visited here on our last day. It was great to see some Nepali artwork, learn about beliefs, gods and history. Relatively quiet, no large crowds The electricity did keep cutting out when we were there.

Compared to developed countries, I would only score it 3 stars due to the small size and narrow range of art. After visiting various Nepalese "national" museums it merits 5 stars. It was a nice break from dirty exhibits, dust, and general lack of pride in Nepalese history. It was a nice presentation of modern interpretations.

A wonderful collection of arts by Nepali artists - both traditional and contemporary - very well curated and presented. The lighting was spectacular and enhanced the beauty of the arts. Nepal has a plethora of wonderful artists in the country but not many people are aware of them or know very little about them. This is a great initiative for the Nepalese arts sector.

A very amicable setuo hosting amazing art works from Nepalese artists. Located next to the Kathmandu Guest House in the very center of Thamel, the Museum of Nepali Art is indeed a place for familiarizing yourself with and understanding the rich art and heritage of Nepal.

Art to compete with the best works out there from any part of the world. Many art pieces rooted in a tradition that is rich in its history and complexity of ideas along with works that signal the changing currents of society at large. Overall a beautiful place to spend your afternoon if you're around Thamel really.

500 rupees for the museum and a coffee/tea at their cafe was a great deal. I went on a quiet day and was the only person at the museum. Beautiful paintings and displays! A must visit place if you’re in Kathmandu
