👍 This is a very nice spot to photograph local areas. There are plenty of local restaurants around here after the bridge. There are typical Thai restaurants along the river and I highly recommend you eat here. The average price per dinner is about 120 Bahts. People often mention beach, park, Kamala, tsunami, Beach, memorial, Memorial, area, Tsunami, nice,

Impressive monument, playground for children and fruit market for tourist. Monument as sculpture is huge and worth seeing. Sadly, there is no information in English. Moreover information stone is dirty. Playground for children is small, yet is free. Fruit market is well over priced. Coconut juice coated 50 bat, when outside the turistic zone, it costs 30. Memorial park is a small open space with green grass and walking alleys near sea side.

Beautiful! Free and excellent beach parking... Great food vendors for amazing prices. Peaceful! Away from the madness in the village of Kamala and Kamala Beach. The structures themselves are gorgeous and tell an amazing story while being so intricate. I love this place!

Park area before the seashore. The monument is beautiful, but not quite as expected. Joggers visit the area, the path goes around the park, and there are fitness equipment with different resistances. In addition, there is a nice playground for children, which is suitable for at least those under 13. There are many stalls next to the park where you can buy mostly food and drink. There is also a river with dirty water by the park, which smells bad.

Tsunami Memorial Park kamala: A Moving Tribute to the Victims of the 2004 Tsunami I have visited Tsunami Memorial Park kamala several times, and I always feel a deep sense of sadness and respect for the victims of the 2004 tsunami. Tsunami Memorial Park kamala is a small park that is located opposite Phuket Fantasea, at the north end of Kamala Beach1. It is only 10 minutes away from my home by motorbike. The park has a large statue of a mother holding her child, surrounded by a circle of water1. The statue symbolizes the love and protection of the mother, as well as the sorrow and loss of the child2. The statue is very realistic and touching. I often see people laying flowers and praying at the statue. The park also has a wall with the names and photos of the people who died or went missing in the tsunami1. The wall is very long and has hundreds of names and photos. Some of the photos are faded or damaged, but they still show the faces of the people who were once alive and happy. The wall reminds me of how many lives were affected by the disaster. The park is not only a place to mourn, but also a place to learn and remember. The park has some information boards that explain the causes and effects of the tsunami, as well as the recovery efforts and donations that followed1. The park also has some artworks and sculptures that express the feelings and messages of the survivors and the local community2. Tsunami Memorial Park kamala is one of my favorite places to visit in Kamala Beach. It is a moving tribute to the victims of the 2004 tsunami. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to pay their respects and learn more about the history and culture of Kamala Beach.

It's such a shame that this was the most disappointing memorial i have ever seen, considering this was one of the worst areas for fatalities. Carboard boat and a marble memorial that has umbrellas leaning against it. It's such a shame to the families that lost loved ones 😭😭

Great place to visit and get some knowledge about the Tsunami disaster which hit the region in 2004. Enjoy the nice beach and food from restaurants close by the sea 🙂👌🌷😍

It's not so much a park than a poorly maintained memorial that is part of the beach.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, it looks very different today than on the beautiful photos. The place is pretty neglected, there is rubbish everywhere. The monument itself is therefore hardly eye-catching. Too bad, because in itself it is well worth seeing.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately I have to share the experience with many others. Such a memorable place could be devoted to a little more care. Live right next door in the hotel and only discovered the place after we passed it a few times. Today they started working on the surroundings and freshening up with lawn. RESPEKT

Quite a somber spot to sit and remember the people who did not survive this terrible event. Nice art installation by a local Thai artist with a placard in Thai and English. There's also a wall with a detailed description of the events of the day.

Sad place but reflects hope and how a country can stand together and stand up against all odds. The land of Smiles rebuilt not only the buildings, businessesand tourist attractions, they rebuilt themselves as well. Never giving up and believing in a better tomorrow. An example for the whole world.

We stood there, calm and mourned. And read the memorial sign Which no one cares about, we think that history will help reinforce Keep current people interested And the disaster that has occurred To remind And protect yourself Is a memorial from the artist who acted like a giant wave Park the car in front. A decent little park with lots of potential. They seem to be getting it cleaned up, but typical to Thailand, there is still A LOT of garbage everywhere. The older playground equipment is covered is some disgusting substance, old grease maybe and the Kamala Canal is back to black, foul smelling sewage water. C'mon Kamala, get it together... Stop being so lazy

Wonderful at night. Great options for food and drink. We luckily went between 15-17 where a Thai band was playing for hours. Such a great vibe. Food is plentiful. Bring cash and hand wipes.

Memorial itself is spectacular. But numerous tent shops around, bike and car haptic parking does not make this place feel like a memorial 🤷

Lunch next to Kamala Beach, Phuket, adjacent Tsunami Memorial Park. Shop owner is a boat operator who recognised the wave action on the morning of 2006 massive tsunami. Saved his mother and wife by taking them immediately to higher ground before 6 metre waves hit the beach and tote inland.

With KIDS BEWARE If you go there with kids beware there is a hole inside the little playhouse (the first on on the right) just behind the stairs. Sharp and rusty edges, very dangerous! I wish someone told me. Memorial is ok, but this is a nono…

Plaque was missing english translation. The abstract staute is interesting. The grass area, garden was great. The canal is disappointing, forgive me for saying the sewage at times is horrible. But it was very nice and meaningful otherwise.
