A gem on Phuket. Unfortunately little attention is paid to it. So we were the only visitors in the morning. It is diverse and there is a lot to discover. You can also take great selfies. For just 50 Bath entry. The toilets are OK. Parking spaces are directly on site.

We were here on Sunday and were the only visitors (which is actually a shame). Almost everything has a Thai description as well as an English translation. We found it very worth seeing and informative because of the culture and development. You should actually have visited it. There are some interactive stations that I, even at the age of 30, still found cool.

It is one of the worth seeing place in Phuket, Thailand. It is surrounded by hills. It seems that is a less known place there. It is nice. It has models of old ways of mining done. It has a collection of valuable stones too. It is in vast area. It is well maintained and kept clean. One must visit it. I visited it on 17.10.18. I liked it.

If you are interested in the history of Phuket, especially tin mining, the Mining Museum is highly recommended. It is on the way between Kathu and Koh Kaew. To deepen your historical knowledge, we recommend reading Colin Robert Mackay History of Phuket.

There is a building showing the history of tin mining. Inside the exhibition building is an air-conditioned space. Admission for Thai people is 50 baht. Foreigners 100 baht I would like to have additional audio narration as well. In each room

Really worth a visit! A pretty little museum that has certainly seen large numbers of visitors. We felt like we were the only ones in the complex for over 1 1/2 hours today. The tour is creatively designed, the most important things are explained in English and the displays are well worth seeing. You can tell that there were once more people here (expected). There are abandoned stalls to be seen and the complex is generally very comprehensive. Price / Adult 100 Bhat - Child of 4 without entry fee

(Translated by Google) This is a mining museum that enriches Phuket Island and shows the history of tin mining. It is said that the tin of Phuket is an open pit, and the site of the mine is used as a reservoir. At that time, the culture of people from Europe was mixed up, and a unique culture of Phuket was born. (Translated by Google) This museum, with many halls, we visited here for the third time with pleasure. Input 100 b. Perhaps because of the distance from tourist places there are always crowded. Not all information is duplicated in English, but even just to stare is interesting. I would like to listen to a guide / if there is one, I suspect that you can learn a lot about tin mining. Beautiful park nearby. Do not forget the mosquito spray and enjoy!

Netty. Was. Here. Excellent Museum to visit; especially if you need to pass time on a rainy day. The information was detailed in English on almost every display. But the art work; time and effort that went into these displays is incredible and well thought out. I much enjoyed just looking at the displays and walking around the grounds. There is an interactive section to keep kids and big the kids entertained as well as a section to take great selfies. 100Baht to enter. Wonderful!

It is a good place for the local school children for the history of phuket. A lot of information is in Thai , so a tourist found it difficult to understand. But overall, it was a nice quiet visit to this place. Additional scripts in English would have been helpful.

Pretty cheap museum if you have a car to get to it. We visited on a rainy day and was the 1of 2 visitors to the museum that day - clearly not a popular attraction. The exhibition notes and explanations are easily for children to understand. Limited information available in English compared to Thai. The mannequins are a bit unnerving - showing up around corners. It's probably completely fine in big groups but when you're the only people there finding surprise human forms around corners is a rather creepy.

Very good museum. Beyond expectation and worth the price. We were only one family in the museum, staff taking good care and explain phuket history to us. My kid enjoy role-playing in the museum with us. Small public library inside the museum.

  • 4/5 Javier G. 1 year ago on Google
I doubt very much beach tourists go there that much. What foreigners go? I think mostly foreigners residing here, and few. Therefore, I doubt dual pricing is going to affect finances much at all and does leave an uncomfortable feeling for those of us interested in learning. Having said that, I do recomend visiting the museum because I like Geology and History. A "pity" the museum rejects any proof of residence; besides, can you not recognice the different type of foreign visitor anyway?

In a sense interesting if you know about mining. All a little bit worn out, you can tell that there has been no improvement in the last years which is a shame because with modern technology you can do a lot with a very small budget e.g. put a few QR codes around the museum which can connect you to a website with a recorded explanation of a specific item, this can easily be done in several languages and cost close to nothing while giving the museum a bit of modern feeling. You could sell earphones for your phones at the entrance if you did not bring your own, these too are so cheap nowadays. If there is a will ...

It is unfortunate that a place was started with plenty of good intentions, good backup money, but lack of experiences in planning, esp long term planning, marketing, how to attract visitors, maintenance esp outdoor exhibit, hold back this place to live up to it's full potentials.. . complete the mission as the founders intended. Location was an old mine, nicely constructed building,

A good museum to take the kids for an hour or two if you'll walk slow and look at everything in details. It's not too big and not too small. The display is mostly of relevant material and few not so relevant. All in all, it is a nice stop during your day in Phuket.
