For anyone visiting, there are two viewpoints. One on the bottom and and on the top. If the view is miserable, you probably have to climb up on the hill a bit more. Of you see the viewpoint where the W and the P is missing, you made it to the top. I walked up the hill which is doable if you like some hiking. If you are the lazy type, go by bike or something like that. I came during the day, so I have no clue is the sunset is good from here. For anyone complaining about a bad view for the sunset; go during a different season when the view is better.

We walked there from our villa in the Kamala Hills area. The ascend was about 600m and descend about 500m. You'll need to be reasonably fit or just make plenty of pit stops. There are proper trails and paved roads on this trail. We met many locals in the area so it's not that secluded but seems to be a frequently travelled route. Proper walking shoes are recommended. We wanted to walk to Kathu Falls from there but decided we were done for the day. If you feel up to it, it's about 300m more ascend to the waterfalls through the zipline route. *Bring insect repellent as we had lots of bites on our hike. Look out for spider webs as I walked into a huge web which felt like dental floss on my face and I turned and saw a huge spider hanging next to me. (Can you spot the spider in one of the pictures attached?) Look out for snakes (on all hikes really) on the ground and don't step on them. We came across a green snake on our way up.

Nice view/ good spot for sunset! Make sure you have really good brakes/ working bike/ you know how to use both brakes because they will get extremely hot while driving down! No joke! Walk if you don't trust your bike or your skills. Stay safe.

You have 3 options to go up to this viewpoint: 1. By hiking - you need to be physically fit 2. By motorbike - you need to be an experienced driver because the road is steep and some parts are just gravel 3. By one of those red taxis - I just don't know how much they charge We used a motorbike and at some point towards the end, one person needed to go down and hike up. For me, watching the sunset from the Patong beach was as good.

Stunning views! I went up on the moped with my girlfriend... It is very steep! You need a 125cc minimum. My Honda Click was good... But you NEED sharp brakes...repeat... NEED sharp brakes! to come back down again. Enjoy yourself. πŸ™πŸŒŸ

Really amazing view but if you go by foot wear shoes (not Flipflops) although it's only 2 km the path is very steep. At the viewpoint you can buy cold water and drinks Which was a lifesaver for me.

You can see exactly: nothing. Don’t bother coming here for the view. It does make for a fun uphill scooter ride, though

The walk was SO strenuous/steep and I normally exercise regularly. The viewpoint is abandoned at the top and you can't see as much of the sunset as earlier review photos because the trees are all overgrown. It's a shame, hopefully it is restored soon.

The view is alright, but only if you are not afraid driving up the mountain. Otherwise, there are many better places with easier access.

Great experience driving up the steep hill in tuk tuk highly recommended. Wonderful view from the top. Can be walked if you wish but it was a particularly warm day we visited so be sure to carry some water.

Was pretty much abandoned when we went there but you can still get up to the platform for the view point. And also the stairs to nowhere are still there. The road up is super steep but 2 of us made on one 125cc honda

The path to the Viewpoint is to the left of the little drinks shop. And is not signposted. The views are spectacular. A very strenuous walk. The ascent and descent is very strenuous. It took me from my hotel in Patong 3h 40m

You can use your car and get there in 10min. This view point is 7/10.

Its a nice view.. but there are nicer places to see.. and nicer viewpoints. The way there is also very steep and the road is not well maintained.. I wouldn't recommend going there with a motorbike

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Absolutely beautiful beach. I walked from Patton beach all the way to Kalim beach which is only about a 15 to 20 minute walk then found a 7-Eleven bought a beer and sat by the rocks and watched the ocean and the boats the parasailers, and the people swimming it was a beautiful day fantastic weather...
