Visited
Holiday
Inn
Resort
in
early
August.
Family
of
5
with
older
children.
Stayed
7
nights;
3
rooms
in
the
standard
wing.
Hotel
spend
for
the
3
rooms
was
around
£1600
so
just
under
£80
a
night
fir
each
room.
We’ve
been
to
Phuket
almost
every
year
from
2010
before
Covid
hit
but
this
was
the
first
visit
to
the
Holiday
Inn
Resort.
The
hotel
we
always
visit
is
being
renovated
and
is
only
reopening
in
November
so
decided
to
try
the
Holiday
Inn
which
directly
opposite.
Location
for
us
is
perfect.
We
always
stay
in
the
vicinity
-
close
to,
what
I
consider,
the
best
part
of
Patong
beach;
close
to
all
the
restaurants
and
shopping
areas
and
OTOP
(shopping
and
bars
etc)
just
a
couple
of
mins
walk.
First
appearances
and
impressions
-
lovely
open
welcoming
reception
area.
Well
staffed
reception
-
but
the
check-in
process
just
seemed
so
long.
Maybe
that
was
because
we
had
the
three
rooms
but
our
check-in
at
other
locations
on
this
trip
was
definitely
easier.
Was
shown
to
the
rooms
and
wasn’t
impressed
at
all.
They
just
seemed
dated
and
in
need
of
renovation
-
the
Covid
period
would
have
been
an
opportune
time
to
get
done.
The
rooms
we
relatively
spacious
but
in
desperate
need
of
renovation.
The
standards
of
the
bathrooms
were
something
that
would
fit
in
with
the
2005
styles.
The
bathroom
furniture
definitely
needs
attention
-
and
the
worst
part
was
the
intermittent
smell
from
the
drains
(it
was
happening
in
all
three
rooms)…
it
felt
like
there
was
an
open
sewer
in
our
bathrooms.
Reported
on
a
couple
of
occasions
and
they’d
just
come
and
spray
the
room
with
air
freshener.
After
that
we
just
gave
up.
The
smells
were
absolutely
disgusting.
(I’m
not
sure
if
we
were
just
being
used
as
Guinea
pigs
to
test
the
rooms
after
the
Covid
shutdown)
Air
conditioning
in
two
rooms
had
dodgy
thermostats.
We’re
from
the
UK
and
at
home
we
set
the
thermostat
to
19C.
In
our
hotel
rooms
we’d
set
it
to
25
or
ever
the
max
of
30
but
the
room
just
felt
like
an
ice
box.
First
reported
to
reception
after
our
first
night
but
nothing
much
done
about
it.
What
I
ended
up
doing
was
manually
switching
on
and
off
the
air
conditioning
(painful)
and
definitely
not
what
we’d
expect
from
a
reputed
4
star.
It
was
finally
resolved
on
the
5th
/
6th
day
(after
we’d
raised
it
with
a
senior
manager).
Housecleaning
were
effective
and
the
cleanliness
was
good
considering
the
dated
conditions
of
the
rooms.
The
breakfast
area
was
mostly
clean
with
good
selection
for
all.
Swimming
pool
accessible
to
standard
room
guests
was
ok
and
not
overly
crowded…
but
not
sure
how
it
would
be
if
hotel
running
at
full
capacity
(if
you
want
to
visit
the
really
fancy
pool
you
need
to
be
a
resident
of
the
exclusive
wing).
Staff
around
the
hotel
mostly
friendly
and
helpful
-
just
as
it
is
in
all
Thai
hotels
we
visit.
We
visited
the
Pizza
restaurant
on
a
couple
of
occasions
and
the
menu
is
relatively
good.
The
staff
there
are
really
good
-
definitely
worth
a
visit.
I’ve
rarely
rated
my
hotel
stays
at
below
4
-
but
I
was
truly
disappointed
by
the
standard
of
the
room
and
bathrooms.
I
was
told
that
during
Covid
they’d
renovated
the
Busicorn
wing
(that’s
the
exclusive
wing
I
mentioned
earlier…
and
I
may
have
the
spelling
wrong)
so
maybe
that’s
a
consideration.
But
for
the
standard
wing
-
that’s
a
definite
avoid
from
me.
There
are
loads
of
other
hotels
that
offer
better
rooms
and
facilities
at
a
much
lower
price.
Unfortunately
we
will
not
be
revisiting
this
hotel
in
the
near
future.
