My stay at Borbaboom Hostel had its ups and downs. The place could use a bit more cleaning, and there was a plastic smell from the air conditioning. The decor felt a bit dated. The laundry facilities were a bit finicky and expensive. On a positive note, the lounge was cozy, although it did attract a few mosquitoes. Filtered water was available, but only at room temperature. The rooms were surprisingly comfy, with some of the best beds I've had in Thailand. However, the toilets could use a bit of sprucing up. The pool was a nice touch, though it was a bit warm for a refreshing dip. Unfortunately, there were no sun loungers. One drawback was the lack of solo travelers in the lounge, making socializing a bit of a challenge. But that's not really the hostel's fault. Overall, Borbaboom Hostel offers a mixed bag. It's worth considering if you're after a quieter stay, but keep in mind there's room for improvement.

The hostel boasts a friendly counter staff, a refreshing pool, and clean rooms. A pleasant stay overall, with welcoming service and enjoyable amenities. It’s a little too noisy at night outside though, so make sure to get your earplugs with you.

We stayed in a private room with en suite over Christmas 2021. The room was comfy and clean with a spacious bathroom and huge shower. The pool is excellent! (And the wifi is strong enough to video call home from the pool area too!) The location is great and everything we needed was walkable. We also recommend The Vegan Table, a restaurant opposite. The staff were friendly and helpful and didn’t stop cleaning! There is a huge communal kitchen, free water and use of a fridge. The only con was that the room didn’t have a window, which I struggle with. It did have a “balcony”, although this was very small, faced a wall and was shared with the next room so we didn’t leave it open for safety and security. We did leave our main door open when we were in the room to let in some light from the corridor.

Our favorite hostel in Phuket! You must stay in this location! Very close to Old Town Street, Night Markets, Weekend Markets all just walking distance and amazing places to see. Here staff was kind and helpful special thanks to them. I wish we had more time to stay on this island and this place.

Right in the middle of old town. Perfectly located. We had a private room for the majority of our stay. Bed was comfortable and air con worked very well. Pool does not have any sitting area. It is attached to a laundrette which is very easy to use and at a low cost. Would recommend for anyone want to stay a few nigjt is phuket.

Beautiful property, with a pool and a cosy corner for the pantry area. The only suggestion is to improve a little with respect to providing Shower gel and Shampoo, hair dryer in the washrooms.

Beautiful and peaceful hostel. They have laundry facility and provide complementary breakfast. Also little cozy swimming pool situated at the rooftop.

Decent rooms and access to laundry and close to the old town but I went during off season so it was Lowkey boring though that’s not the fault of the hostel. The other guests were boring af but the pool was nice.

Really good location. Surrounded by bars, cafes etc. Moped hire directly next door. Stayed in double capsule dorm, quite warm because of the chipboard clad but that was expected, there is still aircon in the room. Very clean. Small free breakfast every day which was a nice, convenient surprise.

We have literally just stayed here and checked out today. We stayed in a capsule which was nice. The bathrooms were clean and everywhere was spotless. I will say we checked out and asked to leave out bags and the guy looked at us like we were stupid, he was pretty rude. He said no. We just saw 2 guys get let in and they let them leave their luggage. Cheers.

Really nice hostel with roof top pool, the pool is very small but is good for a quick dip to cool off. There is free toast and jam in the morning, also there is drinking water available.

"I stayed at this hostel three days ago and had a very unsatisfactory experience. The room was too dark, had too many mosquitoes, and had a musty smell. Additionally, I heard the sound of rats or geckos running through the walls, which shocked me. When I requested to change my room, the officers informed me that all of the rooms were fully booked. I asked for a refund and to leave, but they didn't care and refused to refund my money. When I packed my belongings into my backpack, I noticed that there was an excessive amount of dust underneath the bed. I realized that the hostel may not have cleaned the room properly, despite their claim of doing so before we checked in. To summarize, all of these issues occurred within just 30 minutes of checking in, and I ended up checking out immediately due to the unsatisfactory conditions. Despite reading many reviews about the hostel beforehand, none of them mentioned the issues that I experienced during my brief stay. Based on my experience, I would advise anyone considering staying at this hostel to think twice before making a reservation."

Stayed in the female hostel here. Very lovely staff who are very helpful, pool is good quality for a hostel and fairly clean but rooms pretty basic with dirty showers.

Aircon is good, mattress is comfortable however pillow is very flat! Noisy at 9am. There is a rooftop pool which is a bonus, limited seating. Free tea & coffee and drinking water. Mould in room. Good shower can adjust temp.

Stayed there for a while 2 years ago whilst i was looking for my own place. Great service from the staffs and owners. Clean and comfy at a very cheap price. Highly recommended for a group of friends or family.

What a cool hostel experience! My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the double pods and were pleasantly surprised. The hostel was quiet, clean, and modern, with comfy beds, really nice bathrooms, and a cute rooftop pool. There is also a great common area with fridge, coffee, bread and board games. The pod rooms have an air circulation system so your individual sleeping quarters don’t get too stuffy! Also within walking distance of several great restaurants, museums, and markets. Would happily stay here again!

Had heavy rains for a night on 15 October 2022. The area around the place flooded to knee deep height. Had to walk a kilometer to reach bus terminal in that water with my suitcase on my head and bags on my shoulder to catch the bus. Lucky i was alone.

the pool was closed (big reason for choosing this hostel) and there was mold in the showers. and also in the room itself

Liked this hostel a lot. Definitely recommend to folks - However it’s in old town so far away from patong beach and the usual party areas. The cab here is pretty expensive (500-609 baht for one ride from hostel to patong) so recommend buying bikes for daily commute Good spacious rooms and washrooms. We stayed in capsule type beds on third floor in a mixed dorm - the capsule itself was pretty spacious thought someone with claustrophobia may have some issues to get accustomed. It has curtains as entrance to capsules so should be fine eventually The cleanliness is top notch with towels available with each capsule, which are changed on a daily basis. The room and bed are also made on daily basis. Hostel also has swimming pool on top but it was closed when we were there - looked spacious in whatever shape it was!

We stayed in the private room. The room was clean and pretty big, with a big shower and bathroom. The staff was nice and helped with everything we needed. The pool area was great, the Wi-Fi reached every part of the hostel. The area around the hostel is nice, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from while still being pretty quiet. The only problem we encountered was that the room didn’t have any windows. Only a balcony which faced another building and was shared with another room.

One of the best poshtel and hostel in Phuket town. The staff are also very helpful if you have any questions. Various types of rooms with rooftop pool and very reasonable price! The facilities are cleaned daily, air conditioned, private bathroom in each shared bedrooms, coins washing machine, fridge, microwave & oven and another kitchen utensils in the shared area and it's made me so comfortable. They also have free wireless internet in the room and lounge with pool table. About the location, it's located in the phuket town and very easy to walk everywhere ie. local food restaurants, cafe, Sunday market, street arts and spa. Great place to stay and high recommended : )

This has got to be one of the nicest hostels I've stayed in! We'd booked into the mixed dorm and female dorm (as the mixed dorm was full), and when the guy at the front desk realised we'd prefer to stay in the same room, he upgraded us to the pod room for free! The room's really well designed - hidden underbed storage, an air circulation system to get air into the pods, nice light and curtains and a small lockable box at the head of the bed. Lots of room either side of the mattress for stuff. The bee was really comfortable. Bum gun has good power. There's free drinking water, a washing machine and dryer (20b wash, 10b per 10min dry), and bread and jam until midday. Decor is on point throughout, and the pool is small (in size and depth, only 1m) but a great temperature and nice to chill around. The hostel was a bit dead when we were here, but as a group of three travelling through that didn't really matter to much.

Very clean and beautiful poshtel... confortable bed, big showers and bathroom... the toilet and showers are connected to the rooms. They have small self service breakfast (toast, jam, butter, coffee, tea, sugar). Super quite, great customer service and have games at the lobby (board games, ping pong, guitar, Music and TV). I really enjoyed my stay with them for a couple of nights, they have a pool as well but I never got to go upstairs and see it! I will be back to it in my next trip.

Very new and clean place in Phuket old town. A rooftop pool provided for the price of hostel. Stayed in the single room once and there is everything that's needed. The bedding was very comfortable. Common area equipped with cute decorations, a pool table, laundry, cutlery and plates. Bread and coffee provided. Came back for the whole private capsule room with 3 other friends and was not disappointed; each capsule got its own ventilation, bedding was as comfortable as remembered. Overall, both stays were worth more than it costed and the pool is not to be missed! Will definitely come back again.
