I have stayed here in a dorm room years ago and it was great, so I decided to book here again. Terrible mistake. I booked a single room each for my friend and I. The rooms were tiny and no windows which was fine, but the rooms both smelled of mould and were so damp. Even after sitting on the bed for 5min my shorts were wet. We immediately decided we would check back out. As I booked a non refundable room, I was offered no refund. I understand this from the hostels point of view, but from our point of view, it’s not good enough. Paying roughly $300NZD for a damp mouldy room for 4 nights is not acceptable. Staff were very nice but I would absolutely never stay here again. Disappointing.

The worst room I have ever stayed in. The room smelled like mold and absolutely all my clothes got wet/ damp from just being in the room. My bedding was wet! Of course management refused to give a refund since my booking was non refundable. The room was also so small, no windows and had just a sliding closet door in which you could hear everything from in the halls. Stay at Lub D if you want a hostel experience. Or anywhere else is better if you want a decent room.

This place has great amenities and even better rooftop with view. The rooms have great AC and the bathrooms are very nice and kept clean. However the only bad thing that can be said about this place is that the atmosphere is kinda lacking. There I'd a common space on top floor but never really saw it busy and they had to cancel the pub crawl since not enough people signed up. Great for nice amenities on the cheap but not a party hostel by far.

Edit #2: Finally checked out. The wifi was terrible the entire time. The washer and dryer are absolutely awful. Had to get a front desk person to reset both for me, and then the washer auto-selected a wash cycle that was over 3 hours long - why does the washer have that setting as a default? It's not user error because they are the ones that started it. This building is cute, the beds are comfy, and the price and location are great. But there were so many simple yet irritating things wrong with this stay that make us know we will never be back. Edit: My bank is very much aware that I am traveling. And I just double checked the website that I booked on and it does not clearly state that they will claim to want card and then request cash. The property could simply admit that they have confusing signs, but here we are. The sign outside says that they prefer card payments. But after they swipe your card they will demand a cash deposit. The closest ATM is a few blocks away, and your bank will mark your attempt to get cash as fraud because you just slid your card for a hotel room in Thailand.

The location is top notch. It’s right by the main party strip, and also the beach. The staff is really friendly. Su is a cool bartender. The rooms were clean. There’s not much of a social atmosphere, even though there was a lot of people.

I have recently stayed in several hostels in Thailand and BearPacker was by far one of the cleanest. The pool on the top floor was lovely and my friends and I had a good couple of nights here. The Patong area was really busy and had a party nightlife atmosphere - so it's well located if that's what you're looking for. The Patong beach was super busy, so would recommend Karon or Kata if you are looking for something more relaxed. Unfortunately, they didn't have a water refill station and made you pay for water. Also, the 500 Baht (around £11) deposit on arrival was unexpected. Overall, I would stay here again.

I booked one night here at noon on the same day of check-in before my flight so I can get some sleep The room was not ready but the reception was supportive after they know im just want sleep and check out after 3 hours to catch my flight and they make my room ready in 20 minutes The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. After the check out they were very kind and gives me a gift.

Rooms are exactly as pictured, if you want the hostel experience of shared sleeping quarters but slightly higher end then it's a great option. Incredibly close to the beach and tons of places to go that are walking distance.

Great hostel! The staff was super friendly and you are super close to the beach and the main party region in Patong. I thought the rooms were a bit cold sometimes and the showers didn't have hot water all the time. But those are pretty much the only bad things I can think about.

It is a very good hostel. The entire hostel is bear themed and hence unique! The rooms are slightly small. The bathrooms are very clean. Locker is provided every room. The staff at checkin desk are very helpful. This hostel is located near Bangla Street. One thing to note, you have to leave your external shoes outside the main hostel.

It gets pretty crowded. So many shoes at the entrance. Rooms are unorganised, too many stuff and backpack on the floor. There is a bar and swimming pool on the top of it.Which is nice and chill,You can drink, smoke and make new friends. Great location. I paid 500baht per night for a dorm and l stayed only 2 nights. You can get a room in 3 star hotel for 600 baht per night.

Loved it. The rooms are really nice, clean and comfortable for a dorm. Pretty big beds as well. Nice big lockers too. The staff are really kind and helpful. The pool on the roof is an amazing addition to a hostel and the view from there is also pretty 👍🏻. I didn’t like that much the Patong area the hostel is located at, as I found out it was too crowded for me but if you want to visit Patong and stay at a hostel, I strongly recommend this place, especially since it’s really in the centre of Patong and a minute walk to the beach and the night market. (Also I will add that it was not noisy at all at the hostel!)

Super clean hostel and rooms.. Chill room, roof top bar and jacuzzi are well planned.. Very friendly staff specially Weir who checked me in.. She was super polite, friendly and helped with details ofy stay perfectly. P.S: Staff should be able to help more with information about things to do, places to go etc and also plan some social and adventurous activities for guests.

Amazing hostel. Very friendly staff and an amazing rooftop jacuzzi pool. Stayed here for 5 days in total and each day was better. Simply loved it !!!

Two of the people working at the hostel’s reception we’re extremely unlikeable : made no effort to accommodate us and kept speaking in Thai, clearly making fun of us when we would ask questions. Also there is a no shoes policy, which I understand is common in Thailand, but the floor was constantly dirty so it didn’t make sense to me. The one star for service is for a member of the night team, Pearl : a really nice person with a great sense of customer service unlike her colleagues.

friends, it is quite enough as a hostel. just arriving travelers left their belongings everywhere. you can throw them away. There is a roof with a very nice pool. Enrico, what's up dude. You are a very funny person. In short, it's a beautiful place. location, staff, everything. 🤟☺️

Not a single redeeming factor about this place! We were warned by reception of an incredibly intoxicated person in our room who then started to harass us. We opted to find a new place to stay following this as we were not offered any sort of reasonable solution to keep us and this person separate. We were also not offered any kind of refund despite the bear-packer staff alerting us to the issue which they clearly viewed as dangerous, but management told us there was nothing they could offer. Terrible stay, do not recommend!

What a shocking hostel and a terrible decision to book at the bear packers. We were warned by reception that there was an intoxicated person in our room who was causing trouble. Rather than asking them to leave they offered us a few solutions which were not very helpful or accommodating. The intoxicated person kept following us around and we decided to book a different accommodation. Despite the receptionists saying that we should have been offered money back, no refund was given. I was not upset to leave the hostel as it looked dirty and lacking atmosphere too. Good luck if you book this hostel I could not recommend it less.

I honestly loved my stay there, one of the best hostels ever, the staff were absolute amazing, very helpful 24 hours on duty, mini partying on the rooftop, the bartenders guys are just lovely, fabulous view from the top with a swimming pool. Defo If i come back to Thailand I'll stay there.

We were nervous to stay in a franchise hostel because we didn't know if it was going to be clean or ran smoothly. We were pleasantly surprised from our small stay. It was centrally located minutes away from Bangla road and Patong beach. The place was clean and very comfortable. The lockers were large so we could fit all of our stuff. The common area with the kitchen, TV, Pool, Bar, and Lounging area was super fun and definitely a bonus when we wanted some down time. I also embarrassingly locked myself out of my locker and the staff was on it right away. We would stay here again!

Perfect for a Patong beach party / drinking culture with a rooftop bar selling chang for 60 baht. Cool swimming pool too. The reception staff are so nice. V rowdy hostel though - so if you’re not looking for that maybe not for you

Great location. On the main road across Patong beach. Convenient store on the doorstep. A short walk across the road to the beach. Close walking distance from all the busy nightlife areas. Great small rooftop pool and social area.

Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms. Friendly staff. Slightly set back off the main road which helps with the noise. Close to all amenities. There is a small pool on the rooftop and a lounge area that has AC on all day so you can chill up there in the cool. Nice little hostel!

Gigi is amazingly helpful and made me feel very looked after. Thank you so much for looking after me while I was there! The hostel is clean and the rooms are comfortable. I would recommend staying here! Oh and location is great if you want centre of action (when things open back up). Covid-19 has left Phuket hotels at very low occupancy (low number of tourists), it's great for beaches and other venues. But if you are looking for a party, you may not find it right now. I will come back and experience the hostel again when it's back to normal running!

Have bin here for seven nights to participate the sandbox programm. The whole hostel is very clean, A/C is in all rooms available. On the roof is a nice pool and a common area. You will also have one of the best views you can get in patong! But the soul of the Hostel is GiGi, she helps you if you have a problem, or need travel tips, is always available via social media and is just a nice person. I enjoyed my time there a lot.

Great place with a great location. This was my first time in a hostel so I can’t compare it with any other properties; however, it was overall an alright experience. The property does not allow shoes so you often have dirty feet and then carry it into bed. Take some indoor slippers! The facility is alright, the guest I was bunking with had some-type of musk that did not smell pleasant at all. The room was very small. The smell stuck around for my entire trip. Some male guest that I shared the male facilities with were not very clean, often found urinate all over the toilet seat, yuck! It’s not the hostels fault but just some awareness. The staff were very friendly and they do their best to keep it fun. Great place to make friends and go out to see the party scene.

My most favourite hostel in the area. Super comfortable beds, clean washrooms, comes with a pool and jacuzzi. Total value for money, also very close to the patong Street. The staff is super friendly and always willing to help with anything you need.

BearPackers are amazing hosts with great facilities and comfy beds and were very helpful at the front desk. I even managed to stupidly leave my camera locked in one of their lockers and I was able to message them and arrange for a friend to collect it, all hassle free within a couple of hours. It’s the best hostel in Patong by far.

I had a short yet brilliant stay at this hostel on NYE this year. I had to come back and write a review as although I only spent 1 night here the staff were absolutely wonderfully, incredibly helpful. At the time you had to have a Day 7 PCR test and I had arrived in Thailand just as this came into effect. Although the test was free, nothing had been communicated to anyone about how to arrange it. Patong was mentally busy for New Year and everywhere was booked up for testing. The staff did all they could to check the various systems and call different hospitals and eventually they found me a slot in Phang Nga the next day. They really didn't have to go this extra mile and they were absolutely brilliant. Now to the hostel itself: at the time it was SHA+ and everyone had a dorm to themselves for a reasonable rate... I think I paid £20 for the night. The hostel is super clean, the 6 bed bunk was spacious, beds were comfy, there was a full size locker and v good AC 24/7. The rooftop pool terrace was a great place to meet people and I met a fab bunch with whom I spent NYE during my 18 hour stay. WiFi was great - one of the people I met was working on it. Finally I used the laundry service and it was good and rapid. Great location too - walking distance to anything you need in Patong. Even without the amazing customer service this hostel is awesome but again, big thanks to the amazing staff here, they helped to de-stress a very stressful situation!

Absolute delight staying at this hostel, best part : 2-3 mins walk to the busiest BANGLA street of Phuket + Cleanliness 5/5 + Staff 5/5 + room n bunk bed 5/5. In the end great Customer service from Beautiful Ms. Gigi, am certainly coming back soon to see you and stay at your hostel. Cheers

Located along Patong, Bearpacker hostel is the best hostel to be at if you want to enjoy Patong beach or the infamous Bangla Road. However, what stood out about this hostel was their staff and customer service. During my stay, I was being taken care by their very friendly staff (Pim and Ony). They made sure that their guest were taken care of and even helped me book some of my taxi rides using a cheaper app. They went beyond their line of duty to make sure that everyone had an enjoyable stay in Phuket and they should be commended for that.

The hostel is right next to Patong Beach. The private rooms are great, the dorms are clean and tidy. Everything around is expensive since it's a tourist attraction and party hub. The Bangla street just lits up at night and attracts a crazy amount of crowd.

I stayed in an 8 bed dorm, the beds have a good privacy curtain. There is a light with small shelf above (great to leave my glasses at night). There are 2 power point at each bed, and the locker is large enough for my large back pack. The swimming pool was large enough for a few laps each morning and the bar was good to meet some people. The staff were all friendly and really nice. They did my washing and dried it for 150baht. The air-conditioning really helps with sleeping in the humid weather.

I'm doubting between 3 and 4 stars but the fourth would be possible to give if the rooms would be a little bit more spacious. When the dorm is fully booked, it's getting a bit packed in the room. Especially when you, or somebody else, have to (un)pack the backpack in the room. Besides that, the hostel has a small rooftop swimming pool, bar with affordable beers, washing machines and dryers and super friendly and enthusiastic staff at the reception. They where very helpful and always kind to me. The location is very good, close to the main attractions within Patong Beach.

Dorms are spacious and clean, bathrooms are regularly cleaned too. The staff were friendly and helpful, and he beds were comfy. We could hear live music until almost midnight every night, but it is located in a party area so it's unavoidable really. The pool is nice, although the pictures make it look bigger. Close to the beach and party road. Would recommend this hostel.

  • 3/5 Ray Z. 2 years ago on Google
The hostel itself looked more like a psych ward on the inside. The upper roof area with the pool is pretty nice. Staff were friendly enough. Had the private room with King Bed, definitely overpriced and not worth the money. As the hostel itself doesn't have that many people, you're probably better off getting a room at a more upscale resort, as the rooms and facilities are better, and the rooms are actually cheaper!

  • 5/5 Lucas F. 1 year ago on Google
Very upbeat location close to the beach and other points of interest in Patong and the main street. Lots of food and drink options around. The hostel itself was also good, but we were a bit put back by the 27 USD deposit at check-in. They give it back later, but feels like an expensive deposit
