The main hospital in Phuket. It is typical government hospital. It will take hours waiting before seeing a doctor. Some staffs are really helpful but some are terrible. Tips: avoid an old nurse lady. They always are aggressive. They yell at everybody even an innocent old patient (I saw it happens very often) Because ton of people go there every day so doctor need to diagnose very fast. Sometimes, it seems that they see nothing and then give you medicine. Not even touch. Like a magic πŸ¦„πŸ§™ They now have a new building for foreigners. It is better to go there directly because most staffs cannot speak English very well.

The worst place I've been in my entire life! I broke my leg and unfortunately had to stay there for 2 nights until my wife managed to fly me back home. Hospital staff treated me and my wife horribly. They were only interested in money and wanted us to go private. I had insurance and agent was appointed to deal with the hospital and even the agent was extremely rude and came to ask me for money as they claimed the excess needs to be paid even tho my wife has already paid it. Pray not to ever end up there and if you do pray to god that you do not need to stay for long!

Absolutely terrible experience with the staff at this hospital. Unfriendly, unwilling and uncompasioate. My mother passed away and was transported here, I asked to see her body as soon as I arrived as I flew in to Phuket from Rayong. I was told I could not see her until the doctor arrived again next Tuesday.. Once the doctor arrived I learned that no preparation had been done and the body had just been sat in the refrigerator for the past 4 days...so what would the difference have been seeing her Saturday? It would have helped ease my pain seeing her but instead I suffered all weekend wanting to let her know I was there. When asking the unfriendly manager downstairs in the international department , all I recived were cold uncaring answers. Really could not have been any less compassionate and understanding than that woman. Once transporting my mother's body out of the hospital, the mortuary staff carrying her were laughing and joking around whilst I watched my mother's corpse loading into the back of a truck. I know it is not there mother and they are not grieving but they could at lease have the courtesy to show a small amount of respect... From what was already the most painful experience I have had in my life and still going through, I can say this hospital did nothing in any way to make thing easier and more comfortable for me. Absolute discrace. I hope you never have to go through what you put me through

Go to a different hospital. If you can just go to a different hospital. The experience I had was ridiculous. The lady in the International Customer Service(on the left side) did not treat me like a patient of the hospital until the funds cleared despite me having international travelers insurance. I took several taxis back and forth between the hospital because they told me to get a specific card. When I get there, the machine didn’t read it. Instead of them seeing it wasn’t my fault and checking my insurance which clearly cover it, she could care less about what I was saying. The doctor was nice and the final nurse I saw, but the process of actually seeing him lol? At one point I just wanted to pay and leave. I would never recommend this to anyone.

I had to have surgery here and stay the night. The staff doctors and nurses are very good and look after you, they try their best even though their English sometimes is very limited. I was the only foreigner in a ward of over 30 Thai people, however they all greeted me and made me feel very welcome. I love Thai people, genuinely nice and helpful and had some good conversations and made some friends. It may not be the most advanced hospital in the world, but the people are what made my experience a good one.

This hospital it’s for locale Thai people, it’s overcrowded. But the people get very good help here. The doctor’s are very professionals. So you farang people us the private hospitals and pay for it, and don’t make problems for the Thai people some need this hospital alone.

Utterly unserious hospital in terms of covid management. Our contact person completely messed up the covid testing and quarantine. In the end she refused to speak to us because it cost her private 2000baht. They sent high risk infected people 2 times to central Phuket exposed to public as well as hospital patients. They cannot speak English which in combination with poor understanding of rules and regulations is dangerous.

Was there for the second PCR-Test regarding to the Test & Go sheme. Waiting at room 1 for registration and everything was ok so far. room 1 told me to go to room 6 and wait there. After waiting, room 6 told me to go to room 4 before and wait there. Room 4 told me i have to go to room 2 first and wait there. Annoyed i was waiting at room 2 to answer a few question and go back waiting for room 6 again. Now it was ok for room 6 to send me to room 8 for the test and wait there. After the test in room 8 they told me to wait at room 5 for a doctor. Extremly annoyed that this whole procedure takes about 4 hours (!!!) a employee (thanks to him, i saved another 30min waiting time) told me that i can go back to the hotel and i have to write to a number in 1-2 days to get my result. Sounds like a comedy show but this is not a joke! In Bangkok the first PCR Test takes about 2 minutes. Dont know what is wrong there.

Not friendly to foreigners, expensive service fees, bad attitudes, speaking badly to patients. disrespect others Contacting various departments is difficult, patients have to walk to each building by themselves.

We waited three hours before getting treatment for a monkey scratch, no one speaks English well, they keep sending you between departments, etc ... Most importantly, no one even told us that the wound must be washed immediately for at least fifteen minutes..... we were waiting hours. Not recommended.

The doctor laughed at me for being sick & violated the ASEAN code of ethics by disclosing details of a patients treatment or condition to a third party without explicit consent. Thanks to the nurses who do their best at this institution. That doctor shouldn’t have a job. Shame on you!

For a government hospital pretty good. Nurses and doctors are professional and helpful. Surgeries are done well. Private rooms are nice with good food.

Just another heartbreaking and jaw dropping experience at another Phuket hospital. We were actually on our way to the hospital for a scheduled endoscopy for my girlfriend that we waited months for (an entirely different story). On the way my girlfriend had a serious panic attack of which she has extensive medical history on - we had to call an ambulance from the side of the road. Upon arrival, we saw no doctor, but were given sugar packets and informed that all her vitals were low. They told her to go to the cashier when she feels better. No doctor. The LEAST of diligent doctors would have given her enough attention to learn of her extensive medical history with anxiety and, primarily, her gastrointestinal history. Nothing. So, in the end, she missed her opportunity for a much needed and long awaited endoscopy, was given no exam, no reliable diagnosis, no medicine, no consultation - nothing. We have been together a long time - she cries from pain and suffering and worry. But no one will help her. It truly is remarkable, and heartbreaking. And eye opening.

Horrible place to come. My husband came for health check up for work permit, no one seems to know what it is. Process was confusing and every staffs just want to go home. Service charge fir international is double price for no reason as it’s the same process with Thai. Never come back again

Worst worker at the hospital. I want to ask if I can take the covid test. The worker was busy doing any other things except telling me the answer. I was in a hurry because the clinic next to the corner was closing. If the answer is no, I can go to that clinic. But the worker wasted me so much time! And she was arrogant!

Terrible experience. I spent two hours of waiting then they couldn't find my xray in the system, sent me back to chalong hospital to bring the cd, still charged me 300tbh and said I have to come back the next day (and still gonna pay again). Seems they just hate foreigners. In places like this u understand that death could be easier than their help!

If you are a foreigner, do yourself a favor and do not come here. This place is disorganized and no one here speaks English well. I needed to get 4 stitches removed. For the first 2.5 hours, they shifted me around to several different stations - general history check, orthopedic, general surgery, and had me wait around in each of the queues for a very long time before telling me I needed to be somewhere else. They eventually get me into a line called β€œdressing room” and say the wait is at least an hour. I ended up leaving and having my husband cut off the stitches at the pharmacy cross the street with hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, scissors, and tweezers he bought there.

8 dec 23. Come here because have SSO card and need sick leave. Cough, running nose, fever. At first, it is really hard to park vehicle and navigate. Find international service information, they send to counter 33, which was closed. When open, they look at my card, ask what I want and send to registration number 8. Register n.8 send to register number 1, which was busy and finally registered at number 2. She send to counter 24, and nurse there said that quew at 13.00 is full already (time was 13.10) and they will start accepted cases again at 17:00. Because they have only one doctor who work. But have five nurses who literally have nothing to do. Any large amount of sick people who come to see doctor and can not. Maybe if there be 5 doctors in 5 examination rooms there be good service, but right now hospital save money for doctors and spend it for nurse. If you have choice and pay by yourself, there is better option on Phuket who can care better. After waiting for nothing for two hours, screening nurse ask for chief complaints and send to Ari clinic, which is another department. Lovely)))

Terrible service Threatening to insult the patient Nursing jobs are not standardized. Personnel without mental symptoms should be provided to work. Otherwise, it may affect the image of the organization.

Really bad hospital and i recommend to look for another place if you have something! I come with heavy pain and left with more pain without any service on the patient - dirty, no good service, and have to stay nearly 5 hours in a wheelchair and left without a result

Very good approach, perfect treatment, everything is quick and effective, I've finished my visit from registration till exit in <30 min with treatment, dressing, received medication, vaccination, paid and wished good luck. Everything is clear, personnel knows English. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.

I am an expat working here in Phuket. I was diagnose of gallbladder stone. It was very painful on my abdomen. I was planning to go back home in Philippines to undergo surgery in my hometown hospital, but I don't have time already so I decided to undergo surgery in Wachira hospital since I have my insurance. The surgeon team were great ,they just used a inhaler anesthesia and everything went well. I would like towntion the nurses on the private building(I did book a private room) it cost 2500 per night it was not covered by my insurance. So I just paid for my room. All the rest are free! Job well done to all the staffs of Wachira Phuket Hospital. Thank you for saving my life!

Don’t recommend! Waited 4 hours in queue to find out that the price for surgery in Vachira hospital was 2 times more expensive than in Bangkok hospital, hahaha. They have Thai and Farang prices.

This is a government run hospital I was taken here after an accident amputated my left leg. No one would speak to me in English, I am British. I spent 12 days recovering and I beg you please do not use this hospital unless you are Thai. None of the nurses would help me it was a terrible experience and I don’t write many reviews. There was no Aircon I just had a fan in a ward which had criminals handcuffed to their beds and people dying next to me. This hospital is not suitable for foreigners of any kind. This is my genuine and personal experience. October 2023.

The doctors and nurses here do not respect life at all. Never go to this hospital. My husband pass away in this hospital. This is a bloody lesson for me. The child has no father, but they don't care and only know how to shirk responsible. They only delay and shirk responsibility. If I could, I wouldn't give it a single star. I took my brother to the outpatient clinic for the first time. He had a kidney stone and waited for a day. He only saw the doctor for 5 minutes and saw nothing. Finally, he went to the outpatient clinic and was prescribed medicine and he was cured immediately. The second time my husband was in a car accident and suffered fractures, and finally passed away in this hospital. A lifetime of pain. They do not directly communicate with the family about the seriousness of the patient's condition because they are foreigners and are not fluent in Thai. If they knew that my husband's condition was so serious, they would never send him to this hospital. This hospital, the doctors and nurses here have no medical ethics at all. They don't care about other people's lives. Sooner or later, they will be punished. Never send your Family or friends family to this hospital. ility.
