I signed up to learn diving here because everyone else in the reviews seems to be raving about how kind and patient the instructors here are. Imagine my shock to have had the misfortune to be taught diving by Julie, who is both rude and impatient. I was nervous about learning diving, and she was not only not understanding about it, but treated me as a nuisance. When I couldn’t do a skill well, or was nervous about doing what to me was a difficult skill underwater or in open water, she raised her voice at me and yelled at me like a teacher scolding a child. She was unclear in her instructions, and if I tried to ask a question to clarify what she meant, she shut me off. As a result, I fumbled around unsure of how to go about preparing my equipment, and it was the Thai boat crew or other diving instructors that noticed that my equipment was worn the wrong way, and they were the ones who helped me get it right before I stepped off the boat. I felt so unsafe and disrespected. The whole experience learning from Julie was horrible.

Great experience with 3Willys Diving. Booking process was seamless. We had a beautiful day out in the sea and saw many interesting fish including leopard sharks! Wow, we can't thank Will, Mae and Mickey enough for making our first diving experience so successful, relaxed and, above all, fun! We arrived in Phuket late afternoon and spontaneously decided to see if we could start an open water dive course while we were there. As complete novices we'd never dived before but were really keen to learn. We got in touch with 3Willys at about 6pm and, to our amazement, they were able to accommodate us on a three day open water training course the following morning! Will and Mae kindly drove over to our hotel that night with the paperwork and course books so we could get started that evening with some of the theory prior to our first day in the swimming pool. The next morning Will picked us up direct from our hotel and took us to the training pool to meet with Mickey, our instructor for the course. Mickey - an Essex boy from back home in the UK! - immediately put us at ease. With 27 years experience and over 8000 dives, he was incredibly knowledgeable and managed to get both of us over our initial nervousness and neutrally buoyant by the end of the first day! He has great skill as an instructor - he focused on practical training of all the key diving skills we would need and he did all of them while getting us to remain neutrally buoyant. This was a clear contrast to the other people being trained in the pool, who were all doing skills while kneeling on the pool floor. This is really unhelpful once you hit the ocean as there's rarely opportunities to kneel and it's bad for the sea environment and potentially dangerous for the divers, too. Hats off to Mickey for training us the right way! It really paid dividends when we got into the ocean afterwards. Our next two days (6 ocean dives) were separated with rest days between which was perfect. 6 dives is also very generous as the norm for open water courses is 4 (and not nearly enough in our opinion!). On our first dives, I was especially nervous but Mickey really took the time to get me settled and breathing slowly and calmly underwater. Everything about his demeanor helped us relax. Nothing was too much trouble and he pushed us to deal with any issue we encountered in a calm manner, without any resurfacing. By the end of our last day of diving in Koh Racha we were doing really well, staying neutrally buoyant just a couple of feet off the bottom and able to control our depth mostly with our breathing. We felt so comfortable at the end and we now can't wait to get diving again! All credit to Micky and 3Willys for their excellent tuition and service. Even the dive boats we were on were brilliant with great food and a relaxed vibe. We couldn't have asked for more. If you are considering learning to dive, do it with these guys! Safe, efficient, helpful and friendly - their excellent reviews are all completely justified. Thank you so much guys for helping us to fall in love with diving! Also Mickey is an ace underwater with a camera and very kindly took all our pics! What a star, and what a fantastic dive school 👌👌👌

Amazing diving school with great teachers! Very clear and thorough, they will always make you feel safe and never make you go past your limits. They will send you all the videos before the course starts, so you can get the theory stuff over with asap and get into the water, which is great! The dive sites they take you to are so beautiful. One of the best experiences I've had traveling around! Thanks so much guys!

Absolutely amazing dive. Miller, our instructor was incredibly thorough and clear with instruction making it easy to understand and enjoyable. This was super important given it was our first time. At one point we lost our GoPro and only realised after we'd come back up - Miller went back into the water and was able to find it somewhere in the ocean which was really impressive and honestly saved us as we thought it was a lost cause. He even kindly offered to take videos and photos of us when we went in for our second dive to make sure we could concentrate on just diving. The videos turned out amazing. All in all, a really great experience. If you're in Phuket and looking for a dive shop whether you're a first timer or seasoned new comer to Phuket, look no further.

I took my PADI Open Water & PADI Advanced courses through this shop and it was SO worth it! I had a great time, met some awesome new people, and definitely got my money's worth learning all about scuba diving. Special shout out to William and Sam, you guys are awesome! 😎 I definitely recommend this place, and if ever I'm in Phuket again in the future, I'm definitely booking my fun dives and other PADI courses with y'all again.

Will's a great dive instructor, attentive and very flexible. He helped me learn quite a few tricks to improve myself as a diver, and was always reminding me of the most important rules under water. Will's wife is very kind and helpful, I could organize my whole dive on Whatsapp, they helped me to find transfer to Krabi the next day and get discounted scuba diving equipment. Overall great and very friendly service and had a great time. Thanks!

What a fantastic dive shop! These guys are friendly, funny and down to earth. Will and the guys know their stuff about the local diving and are great role models when it comes to saving the ocean. Trust that your dives will be the most fun you'll have whilst in Thailand! If you're learning, Will and the guys will take their time and make sure you're confident with each skill and it all goes at your pace. It makes the transition to open water so much easier. Any courses you want to do, these guys have your back. If its a fun day diving, they will pick the sites to suit whatever kind of diving you want to do. And after your days diving, you always feel welcome back at the shop for a beer with Will and his wife May (who is the sweetest and fiestiest little woman you've ever met!) and I'm sure you'll soon find out who the "boss" is! If you’re looking for an exceptional dive experience with an easygoing and professional crew then look no further than 3 Willy’s. My experience was beyond expectations and the team there went above and beyond to make it enjoyable, memorable and most of all fun. They have a great boat crew who makes your time on the water seamless and fun, the food is fantastic and the scenery/dives are what you come to a place like Thailand for. Initially my intent was to complete my open water certification which consisted of a pool day for initial training and two fantastic days on the water learning the intricacies of diving. I had some previous experience diving in Belize so I wasn’t completely foreign to the experience of scuba diving, but that being said if this is your first time diving you will have no problems feeling comfortable and confident with these guys. The real difference maker for me was my instructor Frank, he truly went above and beyond to make our groups experience the best it could possible be. Frank has a genuine passion for what he does and it shows in the care and detail he puts into teaching his students. He made sure you knew what was necessary to dive safely and confidently, but at the same time made it fun and relaxed. By the end of the open water course I felt I had the necessary knowledge and skills to safely and confidently dive anywhere else in the world, which is what I was hoping for when I signed up. Initially I intended to fly out to my next destination, but after wrapping up the open water course on a beautiful Friday night, coming into Phuket on a beautiful sunset I couldn’t help but think I may not be so fortunate next time to get such a quality instructor. So I cancelled my plans and booked the Advanced diving course with Frank. When it comes to diving you want to make sure you know you’re stuff and I knew with Frank I’d get the type of training to give me the skill set to dive around the world confidently and competently. A couple of days later we wrapped up the Advanced diving course (another team member also booked the advanced with Frank as well from the open water course, so I wasn’t the only one who felt this way). Needless to say I can’t say enough good things about Mae, the boat crew and my instructor Frank as well. As I’m sure you can tell by now I would strongly suggest if you have an interest in diving, or are travelling to Phuket and looking for a great crew to dive with then these are the guys you want to call! Ps If you get a chance ask for Frank, your all but guaranteed to have an amazing experience!!!

I think the PADI course offered by 3willys is the most reasonably priced among dive centers in Phuket. The dive sites for the two days were Phi Phi Island and Racha Island. My first day of pool training was guided by instructor Shu. Shu is a good instructor and it is hard to find a Chinese speaking instructor in Phuket, so I booked the course more than 1 month in advance. However, I was sick the next day, the dive center changed my instructor without notifying me. To be honest, I'm not satisfied because the new instructors don't know what the students' progress are. Me and my friend were shocked that why 3willys would change my instructor without notice but luckily we still met a good instructor after that. My open water instructor is Sam, Parham Habibi. Since Sam didn't know how we performed in the water, before the first dive, Sam provided us with basic knowledge and made a lot of preparations. He always concerned about our safety and he checked our equipment before every dive. Plus, he also reminds us from time to time what to do next. Although Sam is young, but Sam is a experienced, professional, responsible and careful instructor with strong leadership skills. His teaching way made me and my friends dive with confidence and finally we passed the OW course. I would definitely recommend instructor Sam, me and my friend really enjoyed the fun dive with Sam! He is also a great underwater photographer, the following pictures are taken by Sam.😉 By the way, the dive ship provided excellent foods and service (compare with Malaysia). I felt relaxed, enjoyable after diving, this experience made my time in Phuket unforgettable.🤗

My son while travel thru Asia wanted to do his JR Open Water Cert. I was back in the US and contacted 3 Willy’s. Charlie got back to me right away. Made the process easy. My son completed his course and love the whole experience. Even though I’m AI Padi Pro. I felt better if he went on his own to get his cert. Now I can dive with my son. Thanks Tons !!!!!!
