DO NOT GO HERE! We did not ride elephants. This was part of our city tour and it messed up our mood. The elephants are mistreated, they have wounds on their ankles from the chains they’re in, the baby elephant is kept in a pen all day where you’re charged 100 TBH for a small bag of bananas to feed it. The riders kick the elephants behind the ears to make them “go” and use a pick axe to hold the elephants still while tourists hop on and off and the poles have barbed wires that prevents the elephants from moving side to side. If the elephants “misbehave” then they get an axe to the head. It was horrible to witness. Boycott this place! Go to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary instead, they treat their elephants way better and with respect and no riding!

Great experience feeding and riding the elephants. These majestic animals are so sure footed. The guide has his own elephant for years and years so they take personal care with them. Good breeding program here.

We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the care given to these elephants and riding them. The handlers were very careful to clean the elephants prior to saddling them. They fed them and bathed them. The elephants seemed content to follow the handlers about and they all seemed in good flesh and healthy. The elephants also seemed to enjoy interacting with the guests, asking for bananas from their passengers (which the staff gave a bag of before we went up the structure to embark upon our ride). The elephants will kiss you and take your money to pay for trinkets as well. The kisses are a bit dirty so take a wet wipe.

I give this place only two stars because I don’t like how the elephants looked , meaning they looked tired and over worked. My wife and I did not want to ride the animals we just wanted to feed them. When we got there one staff came to us asking if we wanted to ride we said no we only wanted to feed and pet if that’s okay, see looked surprised like no one ever said that. Anyway we paid for 2 bags of bananas and was shown a small pen with a baby and a medium sized elephant. At first we were like ok great but when we got there we saw that these animals were kept in chains all day and they could only move about 2 feet and I’m being generous here with the measurements. Anyway we hurried up and fed then a the 2 animals and we told our driver that we wanted to leave he said that he know of another place but we said that okay we wanted to go see big Buddha.

We visited Phuket Kathu Elephant. The Elephant was so big it's unbelievable. My family and I did a ride tour to the mountain which was amazing. We took some amazing pictures. Everything about this experience was amazing. Highly recommended when you're in Phuket.

You are NOT supposed to ride elephants... set them free or let them go to a REAL elephant sanctuary. If you ride on an elephants back you are evil and have no welfare for the poor animal. Disgusting behaviour... you should be ashamed!

Another place to avoid, if they do Elephant rides then they are doing nothing to support animal conservation.

This is not okay. Ridings, feedings and bathing elephants is just cruel. If you actually care about these animals, go to an ethical place. Atrocious to be called a "sanctuary" and just shows how much of a scam local animal tourism. Just vecause it says sanctuary it doesn't mean it actually is.

Not ethical, mother elephant chained up in a pen, cannot move. Offering elephant rides to tourists, making money off these poor animals suffering.

Please don't go to places like this where the animals are only used for tourist purposes and not cared for only then chained and forced to do things they don't want to do and are being hurt. there are many sanctuaries of truths in thailand and they are very worthwhile. I feel very sorry for these poor elephants, I hope that they will soon be rescued and that people will report it because it is very sad to see elephants like this.

What a fantastic place. The staff really care for the elephants that have been treated badly by humans in the past. You get up close and get to feed, wash and have plenty of photos taken with them. Please go and support them.

The elephants are cute, but they are not treated nicely. We just fed them. There's an option to ride on them.

The ride is very expensive and not that much long, but the experience itself was pretty cool so that’s why I give it 3 stars and not just 2.

Shame on you marketing yourselves as an Elephant sanctuary when you offer rides. This is abuse. Not to mention the elephants are chained to trees and whatnot. Horrible.

The experience was good, we did ride the elephant but then regretted straight away after seeing how they treat the poor animals. They are chained and have sharp spear type equipment they carry (assuming using on this if elephant misbehave or anything) Elephants looked tired and sad. Baby Elephant and mumma elephant were also chained and kept to the side 😭☹️ Please don’t support this business. We made the biggest mistake. Try and visit Elephant Sanctuary in Samui if your there, a lot better. No riding but can definitely swim with them and prepare their food.

Nice place for a small elephant ride. If you feel adventurous.... sit on its head and hold on for a memorable pic!

You can pet and elephants here. Make sure you buy some bananas for them to give you a good ride and not go around. You don't really seat or ride directly the elephant. You seat on a bench on top of it and there is a rider

Please do NOT support this. It is CRUEL, they ride the elephants for hours a day, everyday. It is completely unnatural and unnecessary pain for the animal, for our 10 minutes of enjoyment (for their lifetime of pain). There is plenty of ethical sanctuary’s where you can meet the elephants.

An elephant 🐘 farm where people can enjoy an elephant ride. If someone doesn't wish to ride he can feed the elephants. The focus is on riding elephants. The prices are a bit high for short rides.

  • 3/5 Francis Gene B. 1 year ago on Google
The elephant ride was okay but the elephants themselves were great. Classic tourist trap though. Elephant handlers are good people but they'll sell you trinkets before the end of the elephant ride. If you're buying, make sure you have the exact amount or they'll take the change as a 'tip'. The lady helping people ride the elephants at the start will also unabashedly ask for tips.
