Unfortunately this place did not meet my expectations. Based on the pictures and other reviews, I expected a large safari-like area with elephants moving around freely but this place keeps the animals in very small pens where they are constantly surrounded and force-fed by dozens of tourists. I cannot fathom how this is not animal abuse. The only nice part of the program was a short walk with the elephants in the jungle. The facilities and food were also disappointing. For lunch I was expecting an open buffet but instead we got prison-style metal trays with very simple and a small amount of food. In the very beginning there was a wait of about 30 min for our tour to start. Overall it was a disappointment and I do not recommend this place.

This was the highlight of our trip honestly! We booked a 2 hour package through our hotel and enjoyed this activity a lot. It was a very short drive from the Laguna area and we were told to help ourselves to water or coffee while waiting for the rest of the group. We came prepared in our swimsuits and had extra clothes and towels for later. We were introduced to different elephants and their individual stories of how they ended up in the sanctuary and where they had been before. We then fed them and walked down to another area where we met smaller elephants. That was my favorite part of the day, it was so adorable! We then made a mud mask for the elephants and took them in the pool to wash off. My youngest didn’t want to participate in this , so he sat in a shaded area nearby and waited for us to finish. We then took a shower in the stalls, soap was available and hooks were inside the stalls so you could also change in there. We were also given a photo of us as a family in a special frame for us to take home. We knew that the lunch would be included in the package but we were never relying on it as it’s impossible to expect much in these activities. But I appreciate their effort in accommodating our dietary needs. I highly recommend this sanctuary.

we did the half day care which included pick up from your hostel, preparing sugar canes to feed them, making a mix of herbs and mud to give the elephants a spa day and then showering them, they even gave us a big lunch. our host was very experienced and you can tell how much they care about their elephants just from how they talk about them, and the elephants feel safe around them too. they’re out of the cages and roaming around stealing everyone’s food and drinks 😂. they have 10 elephants in total and most of them are rescued from horrible experiences i can sleep at night knowing that they’re living their best lives right now. i really recommend this place, please support them

Outstanding experience for reasonable prices. You can feel how happy and well taken care of those animals. Great place. Recommending for visitors. I saw that some people below somehow expected safari there. Two things: please read about place before visiting and for safari travel to Africa.

Was not expecting this place as the photos. First the price is too high for feeding a small basket to an elephant. 1000 baht per person for 30 min( it took us only 15😒) Once you arrive and pay you have to wait for 30 min for the tour guy to help you out. You have to break the bananas yourself in a small basket..then walk to where the elephants are.feed it take a picture with your phone and thats it😐 On the way out they hand out a bottle of water to cool off . The other package include bathing with the elephants and a simple meal. More expensive of course. No I do not recommend this place it’s not worth it.

First i want to say that we chose the Elephant Wildlife Sanctuary over other experiences because we saw elephants at other places chained and being ridden. It looked so disrespectful and felt cruel. The day and everything about the Elephant Wildlife Sanctuary exceeded our expectations. Staff was great ... all of them ... our guide, support staff and the elephant handlers clearly have close and special relationships with the 🐘 s. We did the two hour experience and got to feed, bathe with them, share a mud bath with them and really felt like we got to connect with the gentle giants. I fancy myself a nature show lover, but there is nothing like the personal experience of interacting with them, touching them and feeling their energy. The babies were delightful and amusing, and I swear it felt like they played and teased us by spraying water and throwing mud ... a way of sharing the mud bath experience with us. I highly recommend it.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! For two weeks in Phuket, this experience was the BEST HIGHLIGHT of our trip!! Such an amazing experience, with such majestic, gentle and peaceful animals. Nancy was an amazing tour guide and the mahouts were very friendly and kind. It's so great to see more and more elephant sanctuaries banning the very horrible elephant riding, trekking, circus and entertainment. This is the best way to see these majestic beings, spending the day, cutting food, feeding, cleaning, bathing, skin care, walking through jungles and more.

Amazing experince to be up close and personal with elephants. We like the whole experince of taking pictures with them, preparing food to feed them, making their mud bath for mud bathing. Happy to see that they are not being chained. Highly recommended!

My son and I had an incredible day at the sanctuary. This elephant sanctuary cares for retired and rescued elephants from across Thailand. There is no riding or tricks. No beating or cruelty. It’s basically a spa for elephants where humans come to feed them, apply scrub and bathe them. Utterly wonderful and humbling to spend time with them. The guide was warm, friendly and funny and the whole experience was a joy from start to finish. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Loved every moment of this experience. The elephants are well cared for and loved. They are not chained up and exploited. A very memorable visit and special bonds formed with the animals.

We had a great time at the Elephant Wildlife Sanctuary. We opted for the 2-hour package which included feeding the elephants bananas and soy milk (baby elephants), preparing the mud scrub paste and applying it on the elephants, and getting into a mud pool to give the elephants a scrub and wash down. The lunch was delicious - they catered very well for our dietary requirements (vegetarian). Note that while soft copies are included in the package, they offer a program video for 600 Baht which is done quiet nicely considering the turnaround time.

We had a great experience, taking the half-day package. Our guide, Big, was really nice, sharing jokes while teaching us about elephant lives and habits, the specific lives of the members they rescued and welcomed, as well as useful tips when walking in the forest, like how to recognize some herbs or use some for different purposes. Given that the package price includes a pick-up, a meal, and a souvenir tank top, it is more than affordable. The elephants seem to be taken care of properly, and one of them was particularly playful when we bathed with them after applying homemade moisturizer on their skins. An experience I’d definitely recommend!

We had such a great time here! We did the 1 hour feed and bath and had such a great experience! Our guide was friendly and funny. The staff took plenty of photos of us on our phones, and we spent a lot of time with each elephant. We won’t forget this experience!☺️

It was really beautiful spending time with the elephants, if you love animals I recommend. ATTENTION: bring your own phone to get photos if that's something you wish to look back on in years to come. Sadly the photographer definitely shows preferential treatment towards some people more than others. They mentioned in the booking that there is no need to think about taking photos because the photographer would. I have no photos putting the mud on the elephants or bathing them, and other people in group had loads (they send the photos of the whole group in bulk at the end of the day via google drive) Disappointed that I have no photo memories of the day doing the main activities. The elephants had cute personalities though, and they seem happy in the sanctuary.

Had the most amazing day today at the sanctuary. We fed, scrubbed, showered and bathed with the gental Elephants. One was so happy he was trying to roll over in the bath/pond so we could scrub his tummy. Staff were so lovely. Would highly recommend. Most importantly it's NO RIDING!!!

I can honestly say we looked into all the sanctuaries in Phuket and this one didn’t have any working elephants. We did not want to go to any that you can ride or be chained up. This sanctuary was just amazing!! We got to make food for them and prepare there skin routine and do the treatments. We bathed them and walked with them. It was incredible and ticked all our boxes. They are extremely cared for and loved and the staff live with them on the site and know them all very well. Highly recommended ❤️❤️❤️

We have booked a Save and Care Program 2hours in this Sanctuary. The price include transportation from and to the hotel. But I do not expect the transportation is a private mini van us for our family, the driver arrives on time, the condition of the car is nice. There are refreshment station when we arrive the sanctuary. We start the tour by group of 20, our guide Mr Big is friendly and professional. The guide also try to take a lot of group photos for each group individually. You do not need to worry about the hygiene or changing places here, there are a lot of hand washing station, 1-2 shower stations and toilets throughout the sanctuary, design is simple but neat. Even you forget to bring changing clothes, they have station to sell simple sports wear. But please bring your own hat, they don’t sell hat and the sunshine is bright. The most memorable thing is, due to the “City Kid” nature, our kid is reluctant to scrub the mud and bath with the elephant, so we plan to leave the tour earlier than expected. It’s so nice that the sanctuary concierge organise another car to sent us back to our hotel, in which we just waited for 5 mins, just 5 mins! On our way back, the new driver keep telling us, not to worry about the old car schedule, it has been taken care of. And he intentionally switch the music player to play Blackpink when he knew our kid likes BP. They demonstrate the hospitality of a 5-star hotel even in an wildlife sanctuary.

We paid 1000 baht per person for the 30 minute feeding experience with the elephants, and you get a basket of bananas to feed any of the elephants of your choosing. Our guide “Big (Biggy)” was super friendly and showed a clear love for the elephants and was so kind to us. The elephants look very happy and are so gentle when you feed them. They have a range of different elephants of different ages and you’re allowed to stay in the sanctuary for as long as you’d like (not just 30 minutes).

Had a great experience! None of the elephants were chained, none of them were ridden, they were well fed, watered, and had the opportunity to cover themselves with mud. Not sure what "Maggie" was complaining about. The elephants rotate between stations. One of the stations allowed them to roam free through the jungle. Not sure what else a sanctuary can do. Some people have nothing better to do than complain and exaggerate.

A beautiful experience meeting elephants of this wildlife sanctuary. Allows a tour around the sanctuary feeding the elephants bananas. Additional cost to feed the baby elephant a bottle of milk! A very relaxed experience and the guides were lovely.

A nice sanctuary: the elephants are showering with herb muddy spa, eating freeflow banana, and living with freedom! Good to see baby elephants happily grow up with the mother. Our tour guide Mr. Big is professional and compassionate.

What an absolutely incredible experience! So happy we decided to celebrate my wife’s birthday here. We fed, bathed, swam with, walked, played and so much more with the elephants - especially Rosie and Adelle. Every minute of the day was special and truly once-in-a-lifetime! All the staff was great, but especially our guide, Big, he was great - knowledgeable and so friendly. Highly recommend! (family of 5, kids being 11, 8 and 6)

What an incredible experience we had visiting the elephant wildlife sanctuary! We had the opportunity to be up close and personal with the elephants before we began the activities to create a bond and trust with them, which made the experience seem very natural. The elephants were extremely playful and the experience was once in a lifetime. Shout out to big and the team for their knowledge and helping take the best photos! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to visit elephants.

Great experience with lots of fun! First we prepared food ( chopped sugar canes) for the elephants, and proceeded to feed them, which was very nice to spend time with them, and gain friendship with them. Then, we made them a "mud spa" of dirt, turmeric, salt and some herbs, which we rubbed onto to the elephants later. Also a very fun experience. Then finally we had a swim with the elephants in the sanctuary's pond, which was a very fun experience. Lastly, we had a good buffet lunch with fried chicken, egg fried rice and pad thai. Highly recommend as this sanctuary is one of the "good guys", treating the elephants with love and care, not torturing them as a tourist attraction, like certain other businesses do.. Some of the elephants at the sanctuary are even rescued from bad places, and have visible injuries. The elephants in general are very friendly and easy to connect with! Very used to humans, and seem to trust us well.
