The best thing about this hotel is the staff they are amazing, so attentive 24 hour services , the buggy service is fast , they are so helpful in every way, room cleaning is always high standard, my partner was sick and they made him ginger tea and offered all the help they could give. We booked an early morning tour and they made us an early breakfast box to take. They also changed our tour dates due to sickness. Best staff we encountered in Thailand a great credit to the hotel. The hotel itself is 5 stars so clean and immaculate in every way. Beautiful gardens, amazing breakfast great buggy service to rooms because of the steep slope of the hotel but was never a problem we never waited more than a couple of minutes for them to arrive and that’s 24 hours. Fantastic location close to everything but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. We had a pool access room which included a sea view and every pool has a swim up bar and lounge area. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Gym was top standard. Can’t recommend this enough to anyone wanting a 5 star experience at Karon beach. 😃

Love this resort. It is located on a hillside and surrounded by lots of green. Although slightly away from Karon beach and the city, still walkable. Really nice restaurant (Sabaijai Cafe) nearby. Room was large , clean and well maintained. Pool was simply the best. Our family had lots of fun. Breakfast was tasty and the view from the restaurant was awesome!

We’ve just checked out of this wonderful hotel and our experience was exceptional. The hotel, food, staff we’re all 10/10 and the resort (with its six pools!!) is beautiful and very relaxing. We needed to stay an extra night last minute as I was unwell, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. They sent tea and even flowers and a card to our room. The location is perfect and short 10/15 min walk to Karon beach, but the hotel offers a shuttle service which is ideal in the heat. Cannot recommend this resort enough, thank you for everything.

Wonderful resorts just some meters away from Karon beach. Facilities and rooms are top level, with an outstanding value for money. The resort is located on a lush green hill with amazing view to the sea. You can feel surrounded by the nature. All staff members are friendly and ready to help!

This resort was lovely! Our room was beautiful and we had our own private pool. The reviews about it being very hilly are 100% accurate, but they have a quick shuttle service that makes life so much easier and less exhausting. The service is excellent and they are very accommodating. For example, we asked if there was a place we could reheat some food and they not only reheated it for us, they came to our room, took it, plated it, and brought it back to us all within 10 minutes of us asking. They're awesome! I would recommend if possible to book your own taxis/travel because going through the resort is expensive.

Beautiful resort, loved the jungle feel of it. Extremely clean and spacious rooms, with comfortable beds, pillows, and awesome bathrooms. All of the staff are friendly and helpful, always smiling and happy to see you. It really feels like they genuinely enjoy working there. The Caesar salad was one of the best I’ve ever had in my life, with homemade dressing that was delicious. The resort is a quick walk to the beach, and they also have shuttles that will take you at 11 am & 4 pm, or you can rent a scooter. I miss this place already, and will definitely return if I ever visit Phuket again. 10/10 recommend staying here

Lovely hotel with amazing staff. Friendly helpful. Great breakfasts, including a noodle soup kiosk. Restaurant is nice, the rooms are a good size, with King size beds, refrigerator and coffee.( Not enough creamer and sugar for the coffee though. ) 5 swimming pools with bar at each pool. Motorbike rentals and an abundance of restaurants in walking distance. Rooms are cleaned, and bedding changed daily. An awesome experience.

Had a great 2 week stay here, the resort has a really nice vibe, its not super private but it never feels crowded, the way it is set out in the gardens and jingle feel makes you feel like your further away than you are, it's a great location 10 Min walk to Karon beach with plenty of restaurants, bars and things to do, the staff are great, welcoming and accommodating. The pools we visited were really nice, and all pools have a bar there which is always good, definitely try the charm thai restaurant. The resort isn't top line luxury but it's great value and we'd definitely recommend it and think about staying here another time.

This is one of the nicest resorts we have ever stayed in. From the moment you are welcomed on arrival, the staff are all so friendly and helpful, and do everything they can to make your stay fun and comfortable. The 5 pools are beautiful and there is a pool bar at each one. The pools are never crowded, even though the resort was fully booked during our stay. The whole resort is built on a hill and amongst the trees and gardens so you almost feel like you have the place to yourself. It is quiet and relaxing. Shuttles are available to and from your room to reception 24/7, and also at certain times in the morning to and from Karon beach. The breakfast buffet is sensational! So much variety and great coffee too! The staff will organise all your day trips and even provided a free breakfast pack to us as we had an early start one morning to Phi Phi Island. Thank you Peary, Ninja and all the team. We will remember this stay and Phuket for a lifetime. The room is modern, nicely sized, with a balcony. Bed is very comfortable.

The resort has lost a bit of its shine and some maintenance is needed, but it still has a lot going for it. Disappointingly, we weren't recognised as returning guests and we experienced some other service issues (nobody at the spa reception to confirm an appointment and poor follow-up; incorrect info on website and given by staff regarding bar operating hours). On the plus side, the rooms are immaculate and cleaned to perfection every day. There's a great selection of swimming pools and the food was amazing (great buffet breakfast and authentic Thai cuisine at the Charm Thai Restaurant).

Great Resort ! Everyone is super nice here and helpful. The hotel is so big , has like 5 pools. It has a little forest feel to it yet , it doesn’t have an insects problem which was impressive. The rooms are kept very clean. The breakfast is good enough. The room service Thai food is great. Overall very satisfied with the stay. Just one thing , the resort currently is packed , so its hard to find spa appointments even 2 day ahead so keep that in mind if you are keen.

Staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. 5 pools on site but we only visited 2. Mostly adults, couples, at this place, plenty of slopes and steps, but there are buggies to fetch you to your room. Pools have pool bars which might get very busy, depending on which pool you are at. Food at breakfast and dinner were delicious. Would definitely visit again!

Great service by the hotel staff! A big shoutout to the cheerful staff that serve us coffee and breakfast everyday. Was able to check in at 12pm. Requested to check out late and paid 1200baht to extend till 6pm. There’s a bike rental right below the lobby of the hotel. The lady is nice and legit but do take note that if you did not return the bike with full fuel. You will have to pay 60baht per indicator line that’s missing.*do pump it at the petrol station, is halved the price.

Best resort! So stunning. Room very clean. Buffet breaks caters for all types of diets and cuisine. The 5 pools are beautiful and given we stayed in the monsoon season the banana pool which we mostly swam at was virtual empty. Only downfall is location, it is slightly out of town, about a 15 minute walk. There are a few good restaurants at the bottom of hill which we are at multiple times during our stay. Hopefully as Phuket returns to normal post COVID more cafes will open up again. Would definitely recommend staying here if you love a resort and looking to relax by the pool.

I had a great stay from the 28 of March to the 7th April 🌞 My stay was a mix of vacation and a course, so I experienced business and leisure facilities. The hotel is great, big and the service is absolutely fine. Luggage service, frequent lovely greetings and beautiful surroundings 🌴 I did miss some independence from the staff and quicker service despite the stars. I wouldn't mind going again - keep up the good work 💛

Very good hotel! In nature with a amazing view of Karon beach. Good water pressure, it's like a waterfall haha. The door slam can be heard when the guest next door exits or re-enters. It makes you jump even sometimes when you are resting. The location may not be suitable for people without a vehicle, as it's on a hill and about 300m from the main road. It's poorly isolated, it's disturbing during the day. At night it's quiet (in my opinion, it won't be a good experience if you don't have discreet neighbors, bring your earplug with you!). The curtains (front of bed) are not completely opaque and let in light on sides. Also bring a sleep mask. A mosquito net on the windows (also bathroom) to ventilate and enjoy the clean air at night would be good.

Pools were beautiful as advertised, with 3 out of 5 open despite guest numbers being low. The Coconut pool was our favourite. Staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was good, rooms were good enough.

Mandavara Resort has set a new benchmark in hospitality for me. From the moment we arrived, the service was nothing short of amazing, particularly the reception team and Judi, who, in my opinion, is a stellar candidate for General Manager. Having traveled the world, I can confidently say that the service here surpasses even five-star standards. While there's room for a bit of variety in the food menu, the quality was still commendable. The villa we rented, along with two superior rooms, were exceptional - spacious, well-appointed, and just perfect for my family. The warmth and care extended to us were genuinely overwhelming, making our stay memorable. Mandavara Resort isn't just a place to stay; it's an experience I wholeheartedly recommend!

Friendly staff, clean, acceptable buggy service, acceptable breakfast, could be a 4 star resort if it weren't for these things: 1. Poor design with the bathroom - there's a step at the bathroom entrance which we tripped over many times. Very poor design. 2. First time ever I've been to any resort around Asia which the resort would allow guests to smoke at the pool... so we're forced to breathe in second hand smoke while we swim. Maybe management thought, guests can smoke at the balcony and the balconies are so close to the pool anyway, either way there would be second hand smoke at the pool, so what's the fuss? 3. There's a garbage dumpsite nearby, so every now and then there's garbage smell wherever you are at the resort. Luckily we got a nice view room, if we had a room facing the restaurant or backside of the road, this would have been a 2 star rating resort.

A Genuine 4 star hotel. Lovely views and really clean! Most rooms over look the tropical trees/jungle so the view is stunning and area is well maintained. Several pools which are good size and not overcrowded. A fair few bugs but what do you expect when the hotel is located near a forest. Pros - clean rooms and staff are really attentive - great WiFi - breakfast is a must. Large selection and fresh produce - good size rooms whichever type you go for - beach bag, umbrella and slippers are provided for - can walk to Karon beach takes 20mins or you can use the shuttle buses. The bus didn't fit our schedule so we walked it or booked a taxi. - close to Karon beach and market where their is so much to do and try Cons - not suitable for people with mobility issues, hotel is on a very steep hillside, a lot of stairs. You can use their buggy service to get to and from your room for free but can be busy sometimes. The incline is steep so be aware you can be out of breath when walking up it. - only AC in rooms not in restaurant and lobby so you will get sweaty 🥵 - stray dogs at night time they can fight and go on for some time barking which wakes you up!

I stayed at this resort two weeks ago and I was disappointed by a number of aspects. They use motorbikes to drive throughout the resort walkways which is very noisy and a bother, one morning this woke me up before 7:00 am. There are 80+ stairs from the base of the resort to Zone 1 so this was a major annoyance despite being young and fit. It would not be appropriate for your everyday hotel to force guests to walk up 5 flights of stairs so why a resort gets away with this is baffling. Upkeep was shotty with dead foliage hanging off trees (branches were there the entire trip) as well as large piles of dirt exposed under villas. I have only been to three other resorts total and this is not at the top of the pack like others have said. Food was okay but definitely not 5-star. Karon beach is a 20 minute walk and there were only 4 shuttle drop off times each day which didn’t work at all. We ended up walking everywhere. On top of that, Karon beach was much to be desired with 6+ rows of beach chairs taking up majority of the beach. Many other small issues… cracked glass in the skylight, uneven flooring in bathroom which I constantly tripped on, no couples massage option at the spa, etc. I would not stay here again.

We booked a room that opens onto the pool. I would definitely recommend one like this or a room above overlooking the pool. It's an expansive site but you never feel crowded as it is so cleverly laid out. Each pool has a swim up bar and there is a happy 2 hours where drinks are half price in the afternoon! There are buggies that take you to your rooms at any time of the day or night so you never have to climb the steep slopes, and coming down to the restaurant or reception is easy. The service is first class, we asked for extra clothes hangers and they delivered them within minutes. The cleanliness of the site and the pools is amazing. Dining on the balcony of the Thai Restaurant as the sun went down was magical and the food very tasty. The service was outstanding. It's a short walk to Karon Beach. The hotel does offer a shuttle 4 times a day but it is easier to walk and then you are not time restricted. You also get to pass places where you can get your laundry done if needed, and book tours. The lady on dispatch who organises the taxis is brilliant and recommended some really good places to go. They'll make sure you get the experience you are looking for.

Awesome hotel with 5 pools. Service was great, staff was very friendly. Breakfast was also good especially the coffee corner and fresh fruits and juices every day. All pool areas are amazing. There is a motorbike rental and some good restaurants close to the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay

Nice secluded hotel with lots of greenery around. Rooms are very big and well designed. Has several pools but bar needs work. Food was good. Requires a lot of walking on a steep hill. Whilst we were checking out, the person helping us with the bags actually broke the bag’s handle but denied it and manager didn’t do anything about it. We asked them to keep the bags in the storage room because they contain valuable items however we came back to the hotel seeing them on the reception stairs unattended.

The resort was stunning and so large. A bit of a walk to get around and very hilly but we'll worth the experience. I had over ten mosquitos and two lizards in our room which put a damper on the evenings but the staff and pools were amazing.

The best hotel service I have ever experienced. We spent 7 days at Mandarava. When one of us felt sick, the hotel staffs, from the restaurant, reception and housekeeping team, were very attentive in providing some complementary food and checking in on us during the difficult time and made us feel like home. The resort itself is beautiful and surrounded by nature. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing place to stay, I would recommend this place. Will be coming back for sure.

Fabulous resort nothing is too much trouble for the staff, rooms are excellent especially the pool acess rooms. Up on a hill so getting around the resort includes a few stairs and hills. Free shuttle into Karon and back , also free shuttle back to room wonderful!! Gardens and scenery are amazing also boasts 5 swimming pools each with it's own swim up bar.

Overall the experience is good. Room service is great, they attended to our requests very quickly. However there is one incident during my last breakfast which I have never experience in any other hotel. We were waiting for fruits to be refilled while chatting happily at our table. Then a waitress started clearing all of our utensils as if she is chasing us away. It is so rude! Apparently the hotel needs to train their staffs properly!

Loved our stay at the mandarava. Facilities were outstanding, and staff couldn’t do more to make sure you had a lovely stay. The hotel is quite steep as it’s on a hill, but the hotel offers a service where they will pick you up from your room and take you to reception if needed. We didn’t have any areas the hotel could improve on. Food was outstanding of a nighttime, and breakfast had a great selection. Short journey to Patong (using grab taxis it doesn’t cost much at all to get there).

Beautiful resort. All staff were so friendly, everyone always said good morning and were smiling. We had the pool access room, very clean, spacious and were given water every day. All of the pools were clean and well maintained. The restaurant had beautiful food. It was a bit of a maze but the bell boys were always willing to give us a lift to our room. Amazing all over.

  • 5/5 DeAnna W. 2 years ago on Google
Could not have asked for a more beautiful resort to spend our time in at Phuket. All staff members were incredibly friendly, the food was incredible, and the pools are super relaxing! The rooms are great - very clean and roomy with amazing views! It's located just a short walk down the hill to Karon Beach, and only a short taxi ride from Patong Beach. You can easily get a taxi with help from the front desk to wherever you want to go! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend staying here for anyone else.

This was my third stay in Mandarava. As on previous occasions, everything was great. I love the lush greenery of the hotel surroundings and the sound of cicadas in the morning. The hotel rooms are located in individual villas on a hill, which makes the experience more private. Each villa has up to 2 apartments on the ground floor and two on the top floor, but some villas have only one apartment on each floor. The views from the top floor are beautiful and encompass the greenery which is surrounding the hotel as well as sea view, depending on what room you get. The decor of the rooms is beautiful. Everything is well designed and very well maintained. Staying here gave me a feeling of total relaxation. Everything was hassle free. Service is great. From the first minute, you feel very welcome in the hotel. The receptionist will assist you immediately at the check in, and during your stay every single staff you meet on your way will always greet you in a friendly way. The swimming pools are beautiful and you can choose from several different ones. Some villas have direct access to the pool as well. The breakfast is very good. Nice view from the restaurant. Good food selection for breakfast and decent choices for lunch and dinner. Sadly the second restaurant located higher up on the hill is still closed probably due to limited number of tourists but hopefully it will reopen soon as the views from there are beautiful. COVID related: The place is very clean. Masks are required in the restaurant area and every guest receives a plastic glove which needs to be worn when selecting the food from the buffet. Masks are also provided by the hotel in the restaurant during the breakfast. The fact that the hotel grounds are huge and you stay in individual villas means that most often you don't even see other guests, so you can stay away from other people if you like. Sunbeds by the main pool got quite busy during my stay but there were other pools which were less busy. So it is easy to keep distance. Things to note: Proximity to the beach: the hotel is around 15 mins walk away from the beach. While for me it was not a problem, for others it may be a decisive factor. It is not a beach resort. It is more of a jungle retreat resort with sea views. But the location is absolutely beautiful. There is a shuttle from the hotel to the beach but it only runs twice a day which is not enough. I love Karon beach because it is totally empty and very long (3km) so you can walk down and up the beach listening to the sea waves. It is very calm and quiet area. But it is not a party area. If you are looking for party beach with many clubs, bars and restaurants, this area is not for you. Insects: the hotel is surrounded by a lot of vegetation so insects are natural part of it. From bees via hornets to beetles and mosquitos - you need to be comfortable with this. Wifi: the wifi and mobile signal in my room was not great but I didn't care. But if it's a must for you, it's important to ask for a villa with good signal. The hotel is on the hill - so there is quite a lot of walking to be done up and down the hill. The hotel provides transport within the grounds and if you don't want to walk you can always ring them and ask for assistance. They will also take your luggage from the reception to the room and back at check-in/check-out. It is a very secluded place - not many restaurants and bards in the immediate vicinity, so it's much better for couples retreat or if you want to have a very relaxing holiday surrounded by a lot of greenery. It's not very suitable for people who are looking to be in the middle of the action in Phuket. Things to improve: Fruit shakes were not as nice as in other hotels and restaurants I tried. Pillows could be a little bit more comfortable. As you see, not much to complain about. I love this place and will definitely return!

Great experience staying in this property. The cottages are spread all over the hill. Beautiful landscapes, streams flowing in between, flowering plants and trees . I loved my room as you can walk up to the pool through the back door. The food was great at the restaurant.

Very nice resort. Set on a steep hill with jungle / tree surroundings.. So a very nice setting. Not really suitable for anyone with walking difficulties as everywhere in the resort is up and down steps or hills. All the staff were very nice. I took a tumble down some steps myself and hurt my leg. I reported the main steps aside the pool should have handrails.. hopefully this gets taken onboard.

This hotel is great. The service and cleanliness was great. the place is very well maintained. The breakfast was ok but you have pay for it and it was about 480 baht per person which is a little ridiculous considering there are other hotels in Thailand that give excellent breakfast for free. The pools are very nice and in-pool bars are great.

  • 5/5 Roy Shefi (. 1 year ago on Google
Very nice resort with pools, food and welcoming staff. There is some walking to do from the room to breakfast / lobby / gym so if you have difficulty walking you would tell them in advance. The resort has truly amazing views and everything is well maintained. A short 10 minute walk get you to Karon beach with local restaurants on the way and laundry facilities. Hotel car service is top notch and for some destinations even competitive with bolt/ grab. Perfect honeymoon hotel.

This is a lovely resort. Really pretty with lots of foliage around. Very clean, great breakfast and the staff are really great. Too many to mention really but everyone at breakfast is very friendly and helpful (especially with our one year old!). The pools are lovely, unfortunately pool access villa didn't get that much sun due to its location but you can't have it all! The kids playroom and games rooms are a nice bonus. The kids playroom clearly hasn't been used that much lately but when I mentioned to someone that a few bits could do with a clean, it was done very promptly and I was informed the next day when I passed by front desk which was nice. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We stayed at a different hotel that was not the right feel and ended up changing to the Mandarava and extended our stay 2 more times because it was that good! The rooms were minimalist and super clean. We had the swim up pool option which we used daily. The service was excellent, food was very good too. Good company, not a huge family resort. The hotel is up on a hill so taxi was preferred to walking but it was do-able. Thank you so much for our stay it was lovely.

The hotel is nice, food also excellent. But the lobby service staffs very inconsiderate. We stayed in here 3 nights, and for the checking out day we would like to asked late checkout, because our flight in the 21:20. Even we said we would like to pay for the late checkout, they still replied the room they already give to new customers, can't make it to us. Finally, she suggestrd we use their public rest to shower and make up. I feel really upset for it.

Wonderful resort, best thing about it for me was the ride that takes you everywhere from your room to wherever you need to get to breakfast, spa, gym, pools etc. The food, rooms (I had access to a private pool leading to a larger pool area which was gorgeous) the hospitality here is unparalleled, loved every single moment of this stay.

We stayed for 5 nights. We loved it here. The rooms were nice, clean, and up-to-date. All the facilities where great, pools, kids room, and the table tennis table was a winner for my partner. We had spa treatments which were lovely and very reasonably priced. Best food of the resorts we stayed in. Loved the 2 hour happy hour at the pool bars. Mostly we loved the staff they were all very welcoming, genuine and friendly. They all went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Highly recommend.

One of the best resorts I've ever stayed at. We booked the Andaman Villa and I was not disappointed, from the cuisine to the exceptional customer service. Two thumbs up! I would recommend it to anyone who asks.

A very luxury resort , very clean , well maintained with friendly and absolutely helpful staff!. Nice breakfasts and in a walking distance to Karon Beach. As a tourist getting around by taxi is costly. They ask for 400 baht minimum for a very short ride. Not cheap anymore. You can cut the costs in half by Using the Bolt application. It’s like Uber . Way cheaper. Have a great holiday
