We
stayed
at
the
Wekata
Luxury
Hotel
for
4
nights
in
April.
As
a
family
of
four,
we
enjoyed
a
two-bedroom
family
apartment
on
Level
7.
There
were
a
few
quirks/imperfections
but
overall
this
did
not
impact
our
time
here,
and
would
stay
here
again
in
future.
The
Wekata
hotel
is
quite
new
and
was
a
great
space
for
us
to
start
our
Phuket
holiday.
On
arrival,
once
we
checked
in
late
in
the
evening,
we
were
shown
to
our
room.
The
hotel
room
had
a
couch,
mini
kitchen
and
fridge,
a
bedroom
for
our
two
children,
their
own
bathroom
containing
a
shower
and
toilet,
and
our
bedroom
had
a
king
sized
bed
and
ensuite
containing
a
shower,
full
bath
and
toilet.
Air
conditioners
were
in
all
three
rooms.
On
arrival
the
A/C
and
lights
did
not
work
in
our
children's
bedroom
however
the
staff
member
noticed
this
when
he
opened
the
room
and
quickly
requested
a
maintenance
person
who
came
up
and
fixed
it
promptly.
This
unfortunately
happened
on
the
second
night
too,
but
again
it
was
fixed
promptly
and
didn't
occur
again.
We
had
access
to
a
stove,
microwave
and
kettle
however
strangely
there
was
no
power
point
in
the
kitchen
near
the
microwave
or
kettle.
If
required,
you
would
need
to
move
these
items
to
a
different
room
to
use
a
powerpoint.
There
was
some
cooking
equipment,
glasses
and
cutlery,
tea
and
coffee.
One
bottle
of
drinking
water
was
provided
complimentary,
per
person,
per
day.
Our
rooms
were
made
up
daily
and
fresh
towels
were
provided
-
some
for
the
bathroom
and
others
for
the
pool/beach.
The
balcony
doors
to
our
children's
room
wete
unable
to
be
locked
which
was
not
a
big
problem
for
us,
but
not
ideal.
Our
balcony
view
overlooked
the
beautiful
pool,
similar
to
ours
in
the
neighbouring
hotel
(Grand
KataVip),
a
sister
hotel.
The
location
is
central
to
Kata/Karon
streets
lines
with
shops,
markets,
mini-marts,
massage/nail
spas
and
beach.
This
made
walking
around
and
exploring
very
quick
and
easy.
At
the
Wekata
we
enjoyed
their
two
beautiful
pools
-
one
on
the
ground
floor
and
the
other
on
Level
8,
the
rooftop.
The
water
temperature
was
perfect
and
there
were
ample
lounge
chairs
for
us
to
recline
on,
in-between
swimming.
They
also
had
some
pool
toys
such
as
floating
rings
and
balls.
The
two
pool
bars/cafes
were
open
at
various
times,
offering
food,
drinks
and
ice
creams.
The
Songkran
New
Year
water
festival
fell
on
our
first
day
in
Kata,
and
the
Wekata
held
a
foam
party
with
lots
of
fun,
music
and
food/drinks
available
for
purchase.
We
were
located
directly
opposite
a
night
market
which
held
karaoke
each
night
also.
This
could
be
heard
from
our
room
but
was
not
too
loud
and
ended
at
a
reasonable
hour.
The
hotel
also
offered
delicious
looking
themed
dinners
in
their
courtyard
which
we
unfortunately
did
not
get
to
enjoy
due
to
exploring
other
things
those
days
(Mexican,
BBQ
etc).
We
had
the
buffet
breakfast
once
while
we
stayed
here.
300
bht
for
adults
and
150
bht
for
children.
The
buffet
breakfast
was
enjoyable
but
we
had
been
spoilt
the
day
before
when
we
dined
at
another
luxury
hotel
for
breakfast,
which
we
enjoyed
more.
As
mentioned,
we
would
happily
stay
here
again
if
we
come
back
to
Phuket.
