A Canadian Tourist Review: Wat Chalong is a really cool temple complex in Phuket. We didn't plan to come here, but we got a discount because our driver would charge us 1000 baht to go to Big Buddha or 1200 baht to visit Big Buddha AND Wat Chalong in a 3 hour span. It was definitely worth the extra 200 baht. There are four shrines to enter. One has stairs leading up to a narrow but decent view of the complex. One shrine is very small with monk statues inside. One shrine is used to light incense and candles. The fourth one was closed for the day. There is also a view of the water about 200 meters away from the shrines. Lots of birds and large lizards hang out here! Highly recommend! Also, free entry everywhere!

Very beautiful buildings, nice grounds. Kids were done for the day before making it to here, but I enjoyed climbing to the top to see the relic and also admire the view. I can't compare to other temples, as this was our one day out and about (and it was cut short by cranky kids), but it's worth at least 30 minutes to look around.

Beautiful and peaceful. All the three of them. No payment needed. It’s doesn’t take more than 30-45 min for visit all of them, including the picture time. If you are a woman you must be properly covered up with a long sleeve shirt and long skirt or long trousers; for men it’s was ok with a t-shirt and knees trousers. Near the exit stairs you probably see a family of monkeys

One of the most beautiful temples on the island. Easily accessible by your own transport, Taxi or bus. Very easy to find & is definitely worth checking out. I always revisit this stunning temple any time I am back in phuket. The architecture is truly amazing. Be sure to wear modest clothing and be respectful whilst visiting this temple and others, enjoy 😊🙏

The area is home to several stunning and majestic temples, each with its unique architectural style and cultural significance. The convenience of ample parking options and free parking is an added bonus. Visitors are expected to dress appropriately, covering their legs and shoulders, out of respect for the religious customs and traditions. It's recommended to explore the different temples, including those that allow visitors to go inside, for a complete experience.

Buddhist temple with excellent architecture. There is no entry ticket. Both sleeping and sitting statues of Buddha are present inside hall. The temple itself is eye catching with 3 floors. Outside the temple there is a place for bursting crackers as a ritual. Another temple is there on the opposite. Some small restaurants are there and as usual with high prices. After visiting the temples, just to relax, one can walk outside to the river side. View is excellent and local people offer food to fishes and piegions.

This is one of the island's most exquisite temples, conveniently reachable by private transport, taxi, or bus. It's effortlessly locatable and unquestionably deserving of a visit. I make it a point to return to this remarkable temple whenever I'm in Phuket. The architectural beauty is truly awe-inspiring. Please remember to dress modestly and maintain respect when exploring this temple and others. Enjoy your visit! 😊

It was pretty. Multiple buildings and levels to peruse. If you've seen one temple, you've seen them all. You can make offerings here. Shake the sticks and have your fortune read. The first stick that comes out is your fortune. Each stick has a corresponding number. There is a slotted cabinet off to the side that has the fortunes. Blessings to you all.

A beautiful temple in the true Thai tradition. Beautifully maintained and spacious with garden. Other than all that swimming and canoeing and island hopping, it's nice to also get to learn about the Thai culture and its national religion.

It was an honor to visit the grounds and have access to various buildings and the main Temple! Our group offered a donation and we took candles; flowers and incense to the Temple to make an offering! While inside the main Temple we observed prayers and chanting..I felt grateful to be in the space! It is important for visitors to be respectful of the NC a temple by: women covering shoulders and legs…no tank tops/shorts! Be prepared to remove shoes! I think it is worth the time to visit this ancient Temple!

The temple is the most beautiful temple in Phuket. The temple territory houses several temple buildings, a garden, firecraking pot, clothes shops, and food stands. All the temples require discretion in appearance (especially for women) - covered shoulders, longer shorts/skirts. In case you need to cover more, there are few shops outside the temple as well.

If you're in Phuket, it's worthwhile to visit this temple. There are many various kinds of temples, and they all have a good energy. You are allowed to wander through every structure and take pictures of the numerous holy sites. Put on flip-flops because you must take your shoes off to enter any building. We climbed the three storeys of the enormous main temple to view the exquisite statues of the golden-colored Lord Buddha in various positions. The entire temple complex and surrounding hills can be seen from the roof top, which is a wonderful sight. It is a breathtaking sight to see the sun reflecting off the exquisite golden carvings on the temple's outside wall. While entering the temples, you must also take off your shoes. Definitely worth the trip.

This temple had a surreal feeling of calm, it was very beautiful. I purchased a blessing and it wasn't very clear what i was supposed to be doing with it. I just followed the rest of the people and hoped I wasn't disrespecting anyone or the Thai culture. A group of mourners came through while I was there, a funeral for a young lady. it was really sad, but so lovely. Be sure and visit the small stands on the opposite side of the carpark for a snack or fresh coconut juice. These people are so interesting to chat to and were very kind.

This was the place I was most eager to visit as it houses a bone of the Buddha. Being one of the biggest, if not the biggest, cultural hotspot of Phuket, the temple and temple grounds always have a lot of visitors. The temple grounds are huge and houses  many meditation centers and other temples dedicated to famous Buddhist monks (apart from the main temple). The main temple contains several sculptures of Buddha, donated by devotees, on the ground floor. The architecture inside shows Chinese influences and the paintings show several details and stories of Buddha's life. The first floor also has a few sculptures. It is on the second floor where the bone fragment of the Buddha is housed in a glass case. The Thai Buddhists like to refer to it as a "relic" and not a bone. From this top floor, the Big Buddha statue can be seen on a mountaintop. There is another main temple which has the idols of 3 main monks of Buddhism. There, people can pray and also read their future through fortune sticks. However, make sure you have a person who can translate from Thai for you, as the fortunes are written in Thai. There is a huge pot on the grounds where devotees can pay to have firecrackers lit inside that pot. Bursting firecrackers symbolizes respect for the Buddist monks. The temple designs show the influence of Hindu culture on Buddhism. This place can be enjoyed better when there is a guide to explain everything to you. PS - Women should not wear clothes that reveal their knees or shoulders. Everyone has to take off their footwear before entering each temple here. So, dress accordingly.

If you are hungry you can grab food , and the washroom is also near by which is also very hygiene. From this Temple it will take 20 to 25min by Scooty ride for Karon Beach which is very suitable for family. Very beautiful sunset, neat and clean beach .

Very beautiful and grand temples all tucked into one area. Parking was abundant and it was all free so that was really nice. Make sure you're wearing clothes that cover your legs and shoulders too out of respect for the traditions and religiousness. There are 3-4 temples in which you can go inside some so make sure you do that.

I don't consider myself a religious or spiritual person but I can certainly appreciate other people's culture and beliefs. The buildings that make up this complex are beautifully ornate and well cared for. It is humbling to sit inside these temples and take a few moments of quiet reflection. Just be aware of the firecrackers.

A big Temple (more like a complex) in Thailand that seems like a weekend event for locals. Festive and religious. Very pretty! LOTs of beautiful statues and scenic overlooks thought this big complex. The highlight is a huge Buddha atop a hill. You can see it from all over town. (Translated by Google) Personal opinion Many people said that coming to this temple to pay respect to Luang Pho Cham. Holy master In the Viharn Chaturamuk But I think it's even more interesting is the small temple that slows towards the back and right next to the reconstructed museum area. At this temple, the gable is a picture of Lord Vishnu with Garuda Yudnak in low relief. It is very beautiful. In which the vihara enshrines a beautiful Buddha image and should be quite old. . "Luang Pho Chao Temple", an architectural style reminiscent of the Buddha image, Isan art, Thailand. . And another point is the large chedi that stands tall and can be seen far from outside even as we drive through. Yod is an art-style pagoda in Isan, Thailand. Inside is enshrined Luang Pho Chao, a temple model with white stone. And the relics on the top floor . It is considered a temple that almost all tourist guides recommend visiting. You can search on google map, pin it and navigate. There is ample parking. Accommodate both a small car, a private car and a large car like a tourist bus. Which in normal conditions with many tourists This place is crowded with tourists, especially Chinese people. . Give it a 5-star temple 😊😊 (Original)
