VICTORIA Technical Institute, Chennai, was established pre-independence and promotes traditional handicrafts of south India. Their 3 floors of handicrafts of bronze & brass carvings, linen materials, stone figures and rosewood carvings, are all crafted by artisans in the rural areas. On display in the 3rd floor , are beds, sofas & traditional swings that are hung from the ceiling. All exquisitely carved in wood & very expensive. Plus 50,000/- On display in the 2nd floor are wood, bronze & brass carvings of gods & goddess. Again very expensive. Ranging + Rs 5,000 & upto Rs 50,000/-. In the first floor on display are arts & artefacts made of wood & metal and linen tablecloths, towels, dresses & bed sheets, that are less expensive & most can afford to buy. Good thing, they are open on Sundays. So that the family can together visit & shop.

Wonderful shop for handi crafts. I have been shopping here since 1969. I love this store.

Some of my gud rosewood furniture n a lot of beautiful embroidered bed n table linen is from vti..... 35 yrs ago I only knew vti n nothing else.... I have spent many afternoons there browsing around n picking up the best embroidered stuff.... Even hankies n baby jhablas ...

Beautiful collection of handicrafts, brass items, papermesh dolls. Love this place for the collections and price range. I have bought so many handicraft items like brass peacock wall hangings, brass bowls for gifts which is well received. Also bought lot of golu dolls , wall hangings.. my favorite store in Chennai! I enjoy shopping here with their great customer service ever
