You
get
what
you
pay
for:
US$40
per
night
at
time
of
stay.
and
arguably
the
best
you'll
get
in
Tukuyu.
Comfortable
bed,
hot
shower
and
passable
food
that
didn't
make
anyone
in
our
party
sick.
Apparently,
service
in
the
restaurant
has
improved
since
a
year
ago,
when
one
would
wait
up
to
an
hour
and
a
half
for
food
to
arrive
after
ordering.
Service
in
the
restaurant
could
do
with
a
smile
(if
there
was
a
competition
for
indifference,
they'd
win
hand
down)
and
a
little
bit
of
service
training.
Only
two
Swahili
TV
channels.
Location
centrally
in
town,
so
can
be
noisy
outside,
but
this
usually
dies
down
by
10pm.
Rooms
need
some
attention
(dirty
handmarks
on
the
walls
and
finishing
touches).
At
the
time
of
stay,
there
were
frequent
interruptions
of
electricity
service,
especially
at
evening
peak
times,
and
although
the
hotel's
generator
would
be
started
up
promptly,
it
seemed
to
struggle
to
cope.
