Important review - everything was great, the host, the room, the view is the best. Highly highly recommended. But, be sure you either have a car to reach here. If not, take public bus since its closer to the place. If you take a taxi, make sure you take it right to the place and not to the town. The hike so bad that you might want to kill yourself. Going to the town and coming back is kind of a pain.

Highly recommend. Great rooms and service. The host is very hospitable. Good food that you can enjoy while watching the view of the city or the castle. You might want to take the Dunavat bus to go there if you don’t have a car. It’s a bit tiring to climb walking but still worth it.

In short: if you can find a room, stay here. 🌺You will enjoy the panoramic terrace with a magnificent view on the old town and castle of Gjirokaster. The terrace is immersed in vegetation, from flowers to grapes. 🛌The room is in a ancient traditional house, perfectly clean and very pleasant. Our bathroom was outside the room. 💶The price is stunning for the place, and for 2 euros you can have a delicious breakfast on the terrace. 🍒You can also buy the home-made gliko. 🚙NOTE OF CAUTION IF YOU ARE TRAVELING BY CAR: DO NOT FOLLOW THE GOOGLE MAPS PATH, BUT STICK TO THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT THE OWNERS WILL PROVIDE YOU. We did not pay attention to what they had written and we almost got stuck on a track that was indicated as a street on Google maps, but were in fact stairs!! It was not pleasant at all but it is due to the peculiar place and has nothing to do with the bed and breakfast itself. Once you manage to get your car in front of the house, the owner will find you the right place to park. (NOTE OF CAUTION #2: DRIVING A CAR IN GJIROKASTER REQUIRES VERY GOOD DRIVING SKILLS IN GENERAL.)

Great place with characteristic and super clean rooms. Situated on the upper part of the historical center, this gives the chance to have an amazing view of the City(and Castle) and enjoy a tasty meal in the outdoor veranda. The family who runs the place makes sure that you feel home and this was particulary appriciated from me and my wife, so i will definitively come back when visiting Gjirokaster again.

View is super good over the city. The hosts are very sweet and kind. The room was very clean and nice including a fan. Toilet and shower was located outside of our room but was private for us. Location is tricky to find by car. The host helped me to park the car close to the door of the place. It is located very much on top of the hill, so it will take some workout to get up there from the old town. Breakfast was very delicious including eggs and sweet pancake.

Very cute and cozy home stay. We loved this home stay. It is very nice and newly renovated. The location is quite up the mountain and gives you perfect views over the valley for breakfast. The hosts are great and super friendly. It is perfectly located if you want to visit the castle and go for food.

Very nice and clean rooms, excellent view, and very kind and welcoming people. The only issue is that is pretty hard and steep to make it there by car

Nice, quiet place - overlooking the city and the citadel. Spacy, clean rooms. The place can be a bit hard to find. Follow the track to Gjirokaster hotel, and keep the road up and right. Google maps does not really work here, due to a lot of construction, a many tracks unsuitable for car. A really scoop.

Beautiful place! The view and the standard of the room is high level. The disadvantage is acoustics because we can hear when people in the other room are talking. And the host don't speak English at all.

Highly recommend! We had a wonderful stay. The accomodations were great and the food was excellent. There were several vegetarian and vegan options. Above all, the customer service was amazing! The family went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and at home.

Stone Rooms 1850 was probably the most memorable stay during our 12 day Albanian trip, and we stayed in some nice places during that trip! The views from the hotel and our triple room were just gooorgeous! It's such a traditional historical Ottoman house with so many authentic details, and at the same time so beautifully modernized. Felt great staying in a historical place with all the modern comforts. The garden of the hotel is also so beautiful and nicely taken care of. The breakfast was delicious, too, worth paying the small price for it. Be warned, however, that the drive to the hotel CAN be a bit challenging, as the roads are very steep and narrow. I was so glad my husband is an experienced driver. Please DO follow the instructions provided by the owner and don't just rely on your GPS - it might want to take you via some roads where, I imagine, only donkeys can pass. We put the coordinates the owner gave us step by step on Google Maps before we started driving, and it went fine, but even then, at the end, navigation confusingly decided to take us left instead of right, so we had to turn back in a tight spot. Anyway, thought the drive up can be a bit challenging, the hotel is so so worth it! Oh, and it's great to be very close to one of the best rated restaurants in Gjirokaster, Taverna Tradicionale, it was an added bonus for us.

Great value for money, nicely decorated rooms, excellent view from the garden, and delicious breakfast! We were really happy with our stay. Our room didn't have an outward facing window or AC but this was reflected in the price and we were very happy with our room. I believe there are other rooms with a view etc available.

Family owned guesthouse on top of Gjirokaster. This includes an amazing view over the whole city and a stay in a renovated, cozy house built in the 1850's. The owners are very friendly and kind. If coming by car, be very mindful that Gjirokaster has narrow, steep, and busy streets. Moreover, the GPS might send you to a dead-end road with stairs at the end (owner will send you a route description).

The location is absolutely great! On top of the hill, next to the castle of Gjirokaster. However, the ride up there is very scary (for me) driving the car uphill and through these small streets. Walking through them was more delightful. The rooms are cozy and big. You have a bathroom to yourself but it's not in the room. The owners of the house are super nice and sweet. And everything is super clean and smells incredible! Bring your walking shoes to stay in Gjirokaster!

My favourite guest house in Gjirokaster. Great view and welcomed people. They yold us about gjirokaster and some interesting story. You can ask if they can make some traditional food for breakfast ( whith a little extra cost )Room was cleaned with nice view of Castle. 10-15minutes by foot and you are at the entrance of castle Getting with a car it’s been a little difficult because Google Maps show a different road ( new road isn’t yet in maps) so you need to call the guest house for exact directions. Remember this is guest house not a hotel , so there is not a parking spot but you can park at street without problems

A little hard to find at first, but what a delight. Eda’s parents were lovely, our room was well appointed and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast on the patio each morning.
