Way back year 1997 The Old Swiss Inn was one of my preferred restaurants because of its delectable goulash soup and the ambiance. Just recently I dine with a friend to this place and had goulash soup which I find it satisfying however a bit salty and Geschnetzeltes as OUR main course.. when we were in the middle of our meals, unfortunately we felt something was wrong as our eyes became hefty and felt like to throw-up, our faces became reddish so my friend got the attention of the manager on duty named Edna? informed her what's going on and asked if they are using MSG, she (the manager) asked the chef and the answer was YES😭 😭😭 I personally don't mind paying extra as long as the food I am consuming is safe. So now what's the difference eating fastfood then?? So disappointed!! Please bring back The Old Swiss Inn Restaurant as it used to be.

The Old Swiss Inn has a nice atmosphere and an attentive staff. We stayed at the Somerset Hotel next door and enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the inn each morning. It is convenient, nicely decorated and clean. The menu is basic but they have a nice selection and the food is tasty. We ordered dinner on a late evening and were equally satisfied. We enjoyed the Reuben and club sandwiches. We had two minor frustrations, neither was serious. We asked to buy ice to take back to our hotel room. They told us they could not sell it to us, which we found strange. (Luckily, there is a convenience store in the complex.) We ordered food to be delivered to our room and the delivery person was sent without change. Aside these minor issues, we were very satisfied.

Seven decades of consistency, seven decades of bringing the best of European cuisine. Located on the hallways of Somerset Olympia, Old Swiss Inn comes to life with its old-fashioned decors, vintage knick-knacks and dishes that were served for several decades now. Since the 1940’s, Old Swiss Inn has been prized for this authentic Swiss and European cuisine. They have developed a loyal clientele over the past 70 years, ranging from politicians, celebrities, expatriates, and other patrons wanting a taste of Swiss cuisine anytime of the day. Old Swiss Inn is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, seven days a week. Personally, we have been taking Old Swiss Inn for granted many time. It’s just a few steps away from our office and we usually come here on our late night beer sessions, but never for the foods. Never again. This time, we already knew what we have been missing for the past years. Check out the foods we’ve tried so far: Goulash (P330) – a hearty soup spiced with lashings of beef and vegetables. Full of warming flavors, this traditional soup makes a rich and satisfying bowl. It was simmered perfectly, locked in the spices that made this one went in straight to insulating our souls. Gnagi (P860) – baked cured pork knuckles, served with sauerkraut and boiled potatoes. The knuckles were astoundingly good! It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The dish was close to our hearts as we love our very own Crispy Pata, which was almost the same as this one the sauerkraut was a good addition to this plate to compliment to the very succulent taste of the meat. Fresh Corned Beef (P680) – two huge slabs of beef brisket on a bed of sauteed cabbage and boiled potatoes. This is just so damn good. Period. Sausage Platter (P1550) – a huge platter of veal, Hungarian, schublig, and pork sausages, also served with sauerkraut and boiled potatoes, with onion gravy and peppercorn sauces on the side. We’re torn which one’s better ‘coz all four were great but we have to give the trophy to their veal sausage. The veal sausage’s bland and plain look was very deceiving. As much as we love the sausages, the two sauces that came with deserve the spotlight too. The peppercorn sauce was our all-high fave. It was strong and chunky, a tasty addition to each slice of our sausages. This year, Old Swiss Inn launched the Raclette Grill, a fun and interactive way to enjoy cheese, meat and veggies, just like how the Swiss dig it. They currently offer 4 sets for this grill – the Classic Raclette, Mother Earth, La Parisienne, and Wagyu Skewers. We’ve tried the last two sets. La Parisienne (P1190) – Raclette cheese, seared beef tenderloin, fresh mushrooms, potatoes and assorted vegetables. Wagyu Skewers (P1490) – Raclette cheese, Wagyu beef and cherry tomatoes skewers, fresh mushrooms and assorted vegetables. Chocolate Fondue (P650) – a visit to Old Swiss Inn wouldn’t be complete without having their chocolate fondue. This heaven on earth specialty features Toblerone Chocolate and pure cream. We had milk chocolate but there were two other options – Dark Chocolate and White Chocolate. A platter of marshmallows, cake bites, and slices of fruits were also included in this set. Long forks were also provided for ease of dipping. One dip and one bite showed us the Swiss’ passion for chocolates, every bite was delightful and captivated our hearts over and over. It was a nice ending to an enjoyable lunch. We had an unforgettable, interactive dining experience. This was one of the few restaurants that we did say upon arriving home: “What a perfect lunch!”. We’ll definitely be back for the foods, with a huge grin secretly thanking god how accessible it is for us. Value for money: Worth it! This was definitely one for the books. #DateForTwo at Old Swiss Inn

This place is practically an institution in Manila as it has been around for ages. I've been coming here for decades and it never ceases to disappoint. The interiors are a bit dated but that doesn't detract from the quality of the food. The service is impeccable; servers are attentive and polite. Being a Swiss restaurant, the food has German, Italian and French influences. I usually order the Zurich Geschnetzeltes (kinda like a pork stroganoff), the Gnagi (pork knuckles) and of course the chocolate fondue for dessert. Yummy!

Delicious food!!! Poor customer service - we were just a few diners in the restaurant and yet we have to keep waving, waiting, and calling them to help us. We needed alot of support since there were 7 of us and we ordered 2 sets of raclette and 3 fondue. Restaurant is clean and quiet, perfect for family gatherings:)

We went here for the cheese and was not disappointed. Fondue and raclette were on point, flavor profiles sharp and distinct, a must for cheese lovers everywhere. Loved everything we ordered, some turned out better than expected (like the shrimp pasta and Reuben). Service was definitely 5 stars, with everyone attentive and accommodating. Special mention to the super patient server Dan. Place may be a tad tough to find if you are not used to the Makati area, but parking is available within the building.

We ordered our fave Reuben sandwiches DIY Kit online (due to Omicron) and they do not disappoint. It came in strong sealed kraft boxes. The order was taken by a mild mannered enthusiastic staff; and it was done smoothly as a COD item. The ingredients - rye bread, corned beef slices, emmenthal slices, sauerkraut, russian dressing and paprika powder were all neatly and separately packed. After putting the stuff together and taking our first bite, it brough us back to Old Swiss Inn. Quality and Quantity were definitely a warm assurance that we loved from their menu remained consistent. What a nice break without having go out and get infected for a 70yo like me. Still a fan, from its Paco resto to its Olympia place.

WHY GO? There’s no better place for Authentic Swiss and European cuisine like the Old Swiss Inn Restaurant. Why? Because 70 years of marketability and credibility are the only proof of concept that you need. Did we mention they were also this year’s winner of People’s Choice Awards for “Favorite European Restaurant” for 2018? You go to this kind of places for the food, for the consistency of taste and the stories that were told between its wooden walls. The Fat Girls Day Out crew will sure to be regulars for more years to come.:

Dined in with them for lunch yesterday (January 1, 2023). Terrible customer service. Ordered a raclette and they served all the other ingredients but left behind the potatoes, which we have to remind twice. Took them more than 10 minutes to give us baby potatoes, which are too few for the amount of ingredients and cheeses. My friend was a Swiss who was with me. He said the quality of the meat and cheese are not that bad tho, so I will give the restaurant 2 stars. Please improve on your customer service. Even the bill out took longer than as it should.

From bad day to a perfect day, it's amazing how food can transform and turnaround your day. I was half awake half asleep when we visited the place because we spent the whole day at Enchanted Kingdom from opening to closing the day before. I was hoping that the food here will somehow wake me up... and it did. We ordered Peppersteak Swiss Inn, King Salmon and schnitzel for our little one. The steak looked just like a thick cut of meat but when I sliced it, it was a visual treat. Brown and charred on the outside yet pink and juicy on the inside. Not to mention, it was so tender and flavorful considering how thick the meat was. The king salmon was also good but we felt the big portion of the dish was the potato. Salmon size could be improved. As for the service, we enjoyed it. Waiting time was short and crew were all friendly.

This is an amazing place with a really cozy ambiance that serves the best goulash in the metro! I have been coming back here for the better part of almost 2 decades now and everything has remained the same. The interior is more well lit now, and there have been subtle changes to the items on the menu, but my favorite goulash is still here. I compare the experience of this place as coming home and eating your mother's comfort food. It's quite pricey - the goulash alone costs around 300 for a serving - but if you have a dime to spare, this is definitely a place to visit.

Quaint swiss resto at the heart of Makati. Ive been working nearby for almost a decade and today that I finally tried it. Loved the food as well, ranking my orders from best to good: Creamy stuffed salmon - wonderfully seasoned, from the properly cooked potatoes and greens and of course a 1 inch slice of salmon that is soft and moist on the inside. Raclette - they used good quality cheese and loved the taste of pickles Caesar salad - pretty good dressing Goulash - comforting tomato soup. Taste almost like a favorite pinoy ulam but in a good way Zurich - very good hash Will be back

What a great delicious adventure! We ate raclette and fondue bourguignonne. We had some nice wine and ended the meal with a toblerone fondue. Everything was tasty , the meat was of great quality and nice sauces with it. Highly recommended.

I had a wonderful experience at the Old Swiss Inn Restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff were attentive and accommodating. I particularly enjoyed the Reuben and club sandwiches, which were delicious and satisfying. The menu had a nice selection of food to choose from, and everything we tried was tasty. Although we encountered some minor issues, such as not being able to buy ice and the delivery person not having change, they were easily overlooked given the overall great experience we had. I would definitely recommend visiting the Old Swiss Inn Restaurant if you're looking for good food and a nice atmosphere.

I must say this is the best steak I've ever eaten. 1 hr travel is worth it. I am planning to get back here together with my parents 😍 they deserve to taste the best steak too.

The first time I ate here in many years. Feels like the only thing that has changed on the menu was the pricing. The Raclette was P605, which I felt wasn't worth it. It was just an underwhelming experience.

Ate there recently and it wasn't as good as I remembered. Their potato roesti is still good. The ambiance/decor is getting dated. Service needs improvement. So it didn't encourage me to stay for their famous chocolate fondue.

Ordered the beef bourguignon and it was quite an experience. The beef was very good and tasted amazing after being dipped into a boiling pot of oil. Also had 2 kinds of pasta and sausages with sauerkraut. Everything tasted good. I guess my only beef (lol) would be the price. It's not the most affordable place but it's find because the food is lovely, the place isn't crowded, and the wait staff were very attentive. 😊

Still one of the city's staples. Old Swiss Inn will never go out of style even though it used to suggest to me that it's where the "oldies" hung out... but now that I am an oldie too, it's coded into my now usual haunts. Ordered the shrimp roesti and frozen strawberry yogurt. It's a can't-let-you-down combo. Had the bottle of reisling they had but turned out too sweet for me.
