Hello! I personally really like the place! It's just amazing. It's probably my favorite hostel in Manila. For a cheap price of 750 (around 15 US dollars) (or less) per night, it's a wonderful and comfortable place to stay in. The hostel has a variety of rooms, among which the most popular, are the shared dorm rooms (female-only and mixed) with Japanese-style capsule bunk beds. The dorm rooms are also a lot cheaper compared to the other rooms (i.e., private rooms which cost around 1500 pesos (around 30 US dollars) per night). I stayed in both the female-only dorm and private rooms. And here are what I like and dislike during my stay in the hostel. LIKES (1) Privacy I like that the hostel respects the guests' privacy. I highly value privacy and the hostel didn't fail to offer that. The dorm rooms, although you will be with a couple of people (there are 12 bunk beds in the female-only dorm room and there are four separate mixed rooms), are worth your money. Each bunk bed has its mini wall fan, exhaust fan, light, outlets, and a pillow. The blinds serve as the cover for privacy. I recommend, however, that you bring your blanket because the bunk bed's blanket is quite thin and you might feel very cold since the room is air-conditioned. The hostel rents comforters, however. If you want utmost privacy, staying in the dorm rooms might not be a good option as there can be inevitable noises every once in a while (i.e., some guests talk loudly to each other or over the phone, annoying phone alarms in the morning, loud footsteps, etc.). You can instead stay in the private rooms - which, on the other hand, are not that big and spacious but, at least you have the room all for yourself. Each room has air-conditioning, a TV, and a full-length mirror. The blanket is much better in here tho. It is much thicker compared to the ones in the dorm rooms. (2) Free Wi-Fi Yep! There is free Wi-Fi everywhere! (3) Clean bathrooms I like that the staff keeps the bathrooms clean all the time. Also, they do not run out of hand soaps and tissues. And the bidets are working just fine. However, the shower rooms are quite old and are not that well-maintained - some of the shower faucet's knobs are missing, some showers are damaged, but are still working anyways, and the water heaters sometimes do not work. (4) Free breakfast There's free breakfast every morning from 7 to 10. However, do not expect much because they only serve coffee, juice, some "pandesal", whole wheat bread with strawberry jams, peanut butter, and cheese spread. (5) Friendly staff The staff is kind and easy to talk to. They always greet and smile at the guests. It kind of brings some good vibes. (6) Security The hostel rooms have lockers and electronic safety boxes. The lockers are free to use. Although you either have to bring your lock and key or ask the staff if they have spare ones. (Usually, they have.) The electronic safety boxes, on the other hand, can be rented for 50 pesos (around 1 US dollar) a day. (7) The place is near to malls and some travel destinations What's great about the place is that there are a lot of stores and bars around. Robinson's Mall is just across the street. Also, travel destinations like Rizal Park, Manila Zoo, and Manila Ocean Park are just a ride or two away. DISLIKES (1) I would not recommend the hostel to people who are quite sensitive to noise. The hostel is just beside the Tambayan Gastrobar and usually, from around 7 or 8 until 11 PM, there is live music playing. Or, stay in a private room. The live music is not audible there. (2) The area in which the hostel is located is quite crowded. It is prone to traffic, garbage is everywhere, and there are quite a lot of beggars around. (3) The area could be quite dangerous during the nighttime. Please do not wander around alone at night. Be mindful of your things and beware of thieves. Overall, although the location of the hostel is so so, it is still one of the nicest and most recommendable places to stay in Manila. I hope these help you with your next travel. Good luck!

Ive stayed for a week in their single room. It is cheap and small. But for the price, cant complain. Its a little bit dirty though. I noticed some small cockroaches popping out from time to time. I was not so bothered much altough I have to kill it. Noticed also that there is a "family" or couple of mouses running around at the ceiling. Hence I gave a 3 stars only.

I really liked this hotel. Its affordable and beds are comfy. This is the place for you if you really just want to rest. However, since its a shared dormitory, you have to be quiet so you wont disturb others. The facilities are great. AC in the room is good but you also have your own cute little fan with you. The sheets were so fragrant. I just loved being tucked in a comfy and warm sheets. Another great thing with this hotel is the fact that its just right in front if Robinsons mall. Its also near Mcdonalds! Everything is within reach. Very strategic.

Amazing place. Its not really a capsule but your bed has its own rolling blind to keep you private. The shared toiled is very clean location is very good. Malate area is a colorful place to visit. You got a mall in less than a minute or grab a starbucks.

Tambayan Capsule Hostel is one of the budget friendly accommodations in the heart of Manila. Just located adjacent to Robinsons Mall Manila, it is also just a few meters away from Roxas Boulevard and Manila Baywalk. The hostel is quite simple though the toiletries in their common bathrooms are sometimes lacking and some of their toilets and bathrooms don’t have locks. You really get your money’s worth. WiFi is fast, too. If you’re expecting for a breakfast, might as well consider looking for a restaurant in Robinsons Manila. They only offer coffee for breakfast.

The bed was so comfortable w/ comforter and 1 pillow available. You do have to buy some of the items like basic toiletries but good thing I have a spare one. The location is very wise because it's close to the famous landmarks here in Manila like the Ocean Park, Manila Bay, Robinson's place, Hotels etc. The streets nearby are a very busy one. Its close to many fastfood chains and spa. Grab made it easier for me to navigate through the streets. The staff are very kind and professional. They assisted me in my baggage. The bathroom is also clean. I'm so happy that they have hot showers available. The Vasquez room that I got has a tv and safe box. It has a huge mirror facing my bed. The sad thing tho is that my ceiling was dripping so i switched my sleeping position. That is why I have to put 4 stars. However, this place is so practical for backpackers and travellers. It's so affordable. Will still come back to this hostel. ❤❤❤❤

I am permanent resident in our province (Northern Samar) but i had a residence here in Manila. After 2 years of pandemic, it is my first time to visit Manila. And you know what, i didn’t stay in my Manila residence instead i booked Tambayan Capsule via booking during my stay in Manila. It si my firs time to stay in Capsule Hostel in the Philippines, though i used to stay capsule hotel in abroad. For me, i want to experience and try hows capsule in the Philippines compare to Japan, Korea, China, Australia and among others. Tambayan Capsule Hostel is very remarkable and absolutely local and foreigner will like it too for three reasons to wit; 1. The PRICE IS SO CHEAP, vey affordable and even the class D level citizen can afford it to pay, just like me heheheh 2. The LOCATION IS QUITE IMPRESSIVE located iin the center of Manila, surrounding by different malls and well known universities and hospitals plus the fact that nearby business establishments surrounds the tambayan capsule hostel 3. The HOSTEL ITSELF IS AMAZING, the wifi internet connection is superb fast, the rooms are just like home and the employees are very competitive, linguistic and service oriented, specially MR. RAZTY YUAN, wow, your the man. Your performance is absolutely wonderful and standout. Snappy salute to you Mr. Yuan. You nailed it. I already told to my self that every time i will visit manila, I’m gonna stay here. Bravo and Keep it up

The ambiance is great, not crowded, historical things displayed around the property, the linen is very good, towel is fluffy not a cheap one. Across the street is a big Robinsons mall, food chain stores, convenience stores and laundry shops close by. Most of all, great value for your stay, cheaper but clean compared to others..

My home for the 2 weeks when I stayed in Manila for some important matters. They have good safety protocols to keep their guests safe during the pandemic. The staff are so accommodating with all my queries, concerns, and requests. I felt safe and at home during my stay. The place is clean and it is literally walking distance from the Robinson's Place Ermita and several important landmarks nearby. Overall, this is a good place to stay. Thank you Tambayan.

Superb capsule hotel in a colonial house which feels like a small 5 stars. Wooden stairs etc. Great lobby. Great location next to huge mall. Central. Great bar at first floor where locals come. This guy Ronnie at the reception was a pain in the ass. Rooms n toilets super clean.

Bed was spacious but it's hard to climb down if you're in the upper bunk. Only stayed for a few hours. I was in the mixed dormitory. People keep getting in and out and was banging the door when it closes. The bathroom has hot water and has a hair dryer as well. Overall, it was worth the money I paid for. Next time I will get the singles room.

Great hostel with nice friendly staff. I paid 500php (update - previous trip was 2016, in 2018 the price for a capsule is 700php) for a capsule while I was there. The room was air-conditioned and each capsule had a fan, mirror, light, locker and international plug socket. The bathrooms were clean with hot showers (you are provided with a towel. There is a roof top area to sit in and a small open common room down stairs where you can also buy food. A 'light breakfast' is provided which is just toast/bread and a hot drink.

Value for money, chic place with strategic location to tourist places of interests (Rizal Park & National Museums) and easy to find food. A lot of Halal restaurant within walking distance. Bring ear plug, because in the night it was noisy due to nearby pubs. However not enough common room to sit because in the bar downstair, you'll feel the need to order something if you want to sit. Great WiFi connection!

The location of this place is great. There are many Korean restaurants nearby. Robinson Mall is right in front, so it is very convenient. You can walk to most places. There is a subway station within a 10-minute walk. There are several golf courses that you can take a taxi to. I stayed here. I left it and took a taxi to play golf. There are many Korean restaurants nearby, so Korean people are really nice.

The "Tambayan" experience is great. Staff will not treat you as "barkada." They will regard you as part of their family. Thank you much!

Everything was nice except for the “parking space” and “rude owner”. Yes, i appreciated the facility and design. However, We had an issue about the parking. We parked at the VIP space as advised by their staff. This owner has arrived to the vicinity then she saw that our car was in hers. She yelled at her staff in front of everyone and this poor guy keep on explaining he did it because he want us to accommodate since they dont have any space. We also tried to explain, she just said , it none of our business. Shes just giving a lesson to her employee, Anyway, nice hotel but theres a lot to improve. Practice humility.

Staying in a dorm-type room is not the most comfortable. The lockers are not big enough for travelling bags. No chairs/table in the room. The bags and things of my roommates are scattered on the floor. Generally clean though and AC works fine. I appreciate the self-service light breakfast. Staff are friendly and attends to needs immediately.

👍 Excellent Food The food is very promising, from outside, it looked like an ordinary place as they do not really invest in renovation or repair.
