Located in a highly visible spot along Jupiter St. in Makati, Corner Tree Cafe is a humble restaurant serving healthy meals and specializing in vegan dishes. They serve food inspired by various cuisines such as Mediterranean, Indian, Japanese, and of course, Filipino, among others. The dishes are also visually appealing and colorful. While I don’t think everyone appreciates vegan food, Corner Tree delivered more than what I expected. I encourage you to try a dessert aside from the main courses. They also have speciality cakes that need to be ordered at least two days prior. Here’s my summary of ratings: Food/Taste: 8/10 Service: 9/10 Place: 7/10 Price: 8/10 The cafe is not that spacious; it has about seven tables, I think. However, its petiteness makes it a charming meetup place. The toilet is separate from the dining area. The parking can accommodate up to four vehicles. Corener Tree accepts cash and card payments.

This restaurant pioneered vegan food in Manila and is still going strong. We loved our Lasagna & North African Stew!!

Amazing vegan food. Lovely little place in the middle of Makati, where the whole menu is vegetarian and vegan. They take a plant based spin on Filipino classics and the result is great. I had the vegan arroz a la cubana and it was super tasty! The lady that served me was nice and kind too. Oh and apparently the owner is a big animal lover and they have a little donation box for PETA to support dogs and cats in need :)

I enjoyed going to an all veggie restaurant in a foreign (to me) country, it opens up so many more options. I had the veggie lumpia and the local veggie peanut sauce stew. I enjoyed the stew more than I liked the lumpia, but wish I tried the veggie/mushroom dumplings! Bonus they have filtered Kangen water, for free, which is pricey in the states!

One of the go-to vegetarian restaurants in Makati. I especially love their Rut Roasts and Buddha bowls. Although I'm not very fond of desserts and/or sweets, but I found their Banoffee Cake very good.

Excellent spinach feta croquettes! Fantastic flavor and the side red spicy paste added a welcome extra punch 🤛 . Also enjoyed both the lentil and carrot soups. To top it off, we really liked the Montreal wrap and veggie Thai curry. Masarap lahat! And they take Visa credit cards 💳 Next time I will try the North African stew. Major shout out to Ryan for his professional and kind service 👍

The food is okay to me, not too special! But I really like the vibe! It's calm and relaxing, feel like getting away from busy Makati! Toilet is outside, you have to ask staff to get the key to go! Will come back if I hang out with my vegetarian friends only!

An old standby in Jupiter for vegetarian food. Cozy ambiance, good wifi. A great place to hang out or just get your healthy fix. I ordered arroz a la cubana,it's a good substitute for the real thing. Coffee was of great quality

Tucked away in a corner along Jupiter is this charming café. Very low key and quite a delight if you are fond of quiet and relaxing places. I started thing off with a non-alcoholic Ginger Beer and ordered the Corner Tree Starter Plate for snacks. I pretty much had the whole place all to myself. Lots of vegan options for meals. Parking is a bit limited but easy during off peak hours.

Good Place when you are on a strict diet or vegan/vegetarian in general. They seem to know their stuff and staff knows how to deal with people with strict food restrictions. Very hidden in the makati area, it’s walkable from Poblacion area. It seemed like the food is fresh, I’m not a vegan so I don’t know how some of this supposed to tatse but it was a very tasteless for me. Healthy but the flavors are improbable I guess. The chocolate cookies are very good tho, dairy free. Gluten free and what ever and still tastes very good ! Cheers

From a non-vegan and meat based person, this place gets a 5 star from me. Their food is good, makes me want to be a vegan - mushroom dishes that taste like the real thing. The spot is neatly tucked in a corner somewhere along Jupiter St. It gives off a homey vibe and the staff were super friendly.

I came to this place because my daughter raved about a year or so ago, when I was based abroad. Walking through Malingap is a more than a sideshow of the ever changing, highly competitive foodie street Maginhawa. Pipino Vegan used to be on top of the highly touted sister restaurant nearby and has only opened its doors a few months ago and change. They have a modest yet stylish interior, very cozy. Staff are friendly and attentive. I had the vegan kare-kare and it was tasty and really close to the full meat version, without the disappointment of a meatless finish. Like a lot of Pinoy food. it tilted toward the sweet side, i hope they reconsider evoking the peanuty tase of the stew instead of peanut buttery persuasion. The "bagoong" rice is on point and the mushroom bagoong ties the dish well. I cant wait to try my to go Vegan Pansit Sotanghon. This place makes me more excited to go on a plant based diet and will surely come back to try the other dishes. More power to plant power, and this brave establishment sailing along the sea of heavily meat laden Filipino food culture. Much love.

At first glance, the restaurant seemed to have a nice atmosphere, but the moment I entered this restaurant, I smelled a strange odour, like mould. Shop assistants without masks are either looking at their mobile phones or talking loud constantly, and it's noisy. Unprofessional in service. Toilet is outside Meals taste were so so. I'll never go there again 👎

Looked very promising at first glance but the food was subpar at best and didn't live up to the expectations at all, unfortunately. Especially for the premium pricing (and added 10% service fee). Wouldn't recommend, which is a shame because there are not that many nice vegetarian places in Manila/Makati.

What a great place this is for some super tasty vegetarian and vegan food. It’s a lovely ambience and the guy serving us was really friendly and welcoming. Beers were really chilled and they had a good selection of other drinks too. We had some lovely crispy vegetarian spring rolls to start - hot and crispy. We also had the Veg Laing and Kare-Kareng Gulay and both were utterly delicious, with really lovely fluffy rice. There’s so many options on the menu to choose from, it really is an excellent choice for veggie food.

Tried Arroz a la cubana, tofu very salty. I poured vinegar hoping to lessen the saltiness. It was still very salty, I couldn’t bear to finish it. Ordered their famous salted caramel cake although I think I should not have ordered this having just eaten a salty entree. Cake was good but it was salty and very sweet. Maybe nice to pair with a cup of coffee or tea. Don’t think I would like to come back here again. Note: cash basis only.

The serving size and look of their broccoli pesto spaghettini is too small that one can probable count the pasta strings. It was a pale color orange with a very tiny piece of visible broccoli. They seem to have a following but for those who take-away, beware

Charming little place bedecked in fairy lights, set back off the road (and really under a tree on the corner). Friendly, attentive staff and healthy menu options. I left here wishing my stomach was bigger. First place on Luzon island where I felt comfortable ordering food and not wondering if it would have animals, animal sauce, or animal blood in it. Or be topped with fried animal skin. Service was great and food came out in a timely fashion. If you don’t eat meat come here and kill two birds with one stone- eat delicious food that’s in your diet, AND try traditional Pinoy food (the veg sinigang was off the hook, as was the adsilog and the lumpia. Yeah I ate a lot, sue me.)

  • 4/5 Niel D. 4 years ago on Google
Wide selection of veggie choices. Great ambience. Some of the food was great (starter plate) but some was underwhelming (ala cubana, laing) or not QAd, which is somewhat a shame given youd expect more for the price. Ice cream was even served warm and semi melted.

One of my favorite restaurants in Manila. Delicious and healthy food in a very comfortable setting - the dining room feels more like a living room than a traditional restaurant. When we don't have time to go there, we order, and there, unfortunately, Corner Tree Cafe loses its fifth star. The boxes come with very fragile plastic lids that break EVERY SINGLE TIME. Delicious, still, but you have to screen each plate for plastic pieces.

Pipino is now open again for dine in, but I opted to eat in the car since I had my pet with me. Hopefully more restaurants allow pets to stay with their owners while dining in. I ordered their embotido with pineapple fried rice and it was delicious! It was suggested by the one who assisted in taking my order and I think it was perfect. It was easy/convenient to eat (no mess from sauces and not difficult to eat with takeout cutlery), and it was very flavorful! The meal was savory and sweet, and the textures were a delight to experience-- soft sticky rice, crunchy vegetables, crispy on the outside embotido... Will definitely order it again.

You can find this in the area popular for foodies in QC. Their Monggo Malunggay with having Nori seaweed as vegan chicharon is just genius! Food Taste (5 out of 5) - always a fresh take on the often bland plant based dishes out there. Value for Money (5 out of 5) Their price ranges from 200 to no more than 450. Ambience (4 out of 5) Simple of cozy. Location (5 out of 5) right next to a main road with ample parking and a stone throw away from other good mainstream restos for your non vegetarian friends. I guarantee you will come back!

Good foods at reasonable price. The servings were kinda big, good for sharing. We tried pochero, tofu sisig and chopsuey. The chopsuey comes with their famous cauliflower rice was good. The pochero was also tasty but the banana was still hard. The tofu sisig was served with some kind of crunchy leaves, the crunchy leaves tasted soo good but the tofu sisig was too sour for me. Their lemongrass cucumber and ginger juice is a must try. The serving time was quite slow considering the place was not too crowded when we were there. If you’re a health buff, and love veggies, this one’s a must try!!!

The best tasting vegan resto I've tried so far. I'm happy with the food choices I've ordered. The Mac & Cheese is perfect for me since I'm not allowed to take cow's milk. First time to tasted food with Almond milk and it really complement the other ingredients. Their Veggie Triangles is my favorite, it's crunchy and yummy! Pipino shake is refreshingly good too! Worth to have another visit despite it's distance from my location. Hoping they'll expand a branch around Makati soon! :)

Worst vegan pizza ever. Worst Takeout pizza ever. sobrang tigas nung crust ng pizza that took 40 mins to prepare. A pizza should just be cooked around 15-20 mins by either electric oven. unless they only used microwave. And the pizza wasn't even been cut. sobrang tigas nung crust you won't be able to chew it. And the toppings is like you sprinkle all kinds of Vegtable there is just to make it they say VeGAN. And the pricing of each food is very badly priced. so bad that only people with MONEY can eat there. and you know what the pizza was priced? 325 pesos for a badly cooked pizza that has a crust that is like a rock

That’s the breakfast smoothie on the right - similar to gosalads and close price point. I think it’s 170? The veggie sisig and veggie buffalo wings in veggie butter. The sisig was okay with taste although I expected it to “sizzle” when it was served but was not. The buffalo option tasted like they used sweet chilli sauce where I expected it to be closest to a hot sauce and vegan butter mix only. The place is small and can accommodate 20 people I guess. I came in at 6PM and it was well lit, has no odor and great service. I will go back to try the more Filipino cuisine options like kare kare because they have vegan Bagoong too. For all 3, I think I spent 650 or 700. I paid cash but I think they have card options. It’s not shown in the photo but I used a “glass straw” ♥️♥️♥️♥️ so happy they are conscious about the environment. By the way, they now occupy the place where breakfast and pi used to be. They might have acquired the place. So now, I have more options for vegan food: greens at Tomas morato, pipino At Malingap/Diliman, salad stop and go salad at trinoma and SM north and finally, 8tables at congressional Avenue near San Lorenzo school. Parking is limited and their toilet is newly renovated too.

Excellent vegan restaurant. I've had dreams about tofu sisig + mango shake + pili ranch salad. I might just have to go there right now.. oh man and the double chocolate chip cookie or the peanut butter chocolate cupcakes... mmmmmm check out their instagram for pictures of the food because the menu doesn't do a good job of advertising what these dishes look like. MOST HELPFUL STAFF ever, but I can see where the management is training them to be more sales focused but it can come off as kind of pushy which isn't their fault. The business would do a better job of advertising in menu with pictures of the food, or giving out free samples on occasion.

Amazing and innovative food selection! The staff are efficient and genuinely friendly. Not only do they serve meals, but also it is possible to buy some of their ingredients. This restaurant is a family favorite.

Surprisingly good and tasty dishes. The staff are nice as they constantly interact with the customers but they tend to rush the patrons especially when it is close to their closing time of 830 pm. Love what I saw with their grocery goods comprised of some healthy snacks and ingredients plus kiddie toys on the side. Parking is good for at least 4 to 5 vehicles with a security officer stationed outside. A good veggie restaurant.

I eat here once every week. 4 vehicles can park at the front. Their dishes are good imitations of your typical meats like fish, pork and beef. The menu is wide. If you're a vegan, you could appreciate their food as they are palatable but not too artificial. If you're a meat eater and have health issues, you should shift to include this in your visited places. You can find an alternative for your meat cravings that is close to the real thing. I always go for their combos as these are what suits my appetite.

One of my favorite vegetarian restaurants in QC. Unlike any other vegetarian restos wherein healthy dishes equates to bland tasteless and flavorless dishes, this one is actually yummy and tasty!

The place felt like a home but still delivered a good restaurant experience. My sister took us here to try out the vegetarian fare and I actually liked it. Lots of what we ordered had soy or mushrooms in place of meat. Take out is also available here and we ordered some mushroom buns/siopao.

Being a vegetarian it was great finding this restaurant as find vegetarian options is hard in Manila restaurants. Went there 2 days consecutively for lunch. On both days since its a small place all tables were full. The first day we ordered the teriyaki bowl, tofu steak burger, hummus. All of which were amazing. However the service was really slowly so be prepared to wait. On the second day we ordered the bowl of chili, dimsums and adobong tofu. After 30 minutes of waiting the person informed us they didn't have the ingredients to make the dish and we needed to order something else so we ordered another curry. Both items were ok in taste, nothing great but the service was really slow. It took 45-50 mins for the food to arrive after order. Have mixed feelings about the place. If you are looking for a vegetarian or vegan place (they also have gluten free options) this place has a lot of options, some of which is really good, the food is all freshly prepared but the service is also very slow so be prepared to spend 1.5 hrs there if you are thinking if getting a proper meal with mains. Also for the mains the portions are small so you wont be able to share them

I feel like eating light tonight so we tried this vegetarian resto at Jupiter. Ordered all 3 soups in the menu to sample each and we enjoyed the hot soups with garlic sticks. Kofta (cauliflower and cabbage) in tasty tomato sauce topped toasted onion and nuts with coscous is very filling. My husband enjoyed his meatloaf meal and my daughter her arroz ala cubana. Meatless dinner tonight. And they serve Healthy Kangen water.

Delicious experience for lunch at Corner Tree. I loved the falafel sandwich - the pita was fluffy, the sandwich was full of fresh veggies, and the falafel was fresh and homemade. I especially liked the harissa spicy sauce and the mint yogurt sauce in the sandwich. I will definitely be returning to try more menu items. Limited parking options, so recommend arriving early if you are driving, or taking alternate transportation such as taxi or Grab.

Too expensive for the quality…The cakes and coffee were yummy. We also had some sandwiches which were kind of simple but tasty. But for a high priced sandwich like that i had expected some more decoration. The only bad parts were the shakes and lemonade which were not really fresh. My mango shake was either made from industrial mango pulpe pr from overriped mangp that was some das in the fridge ..

Vegan Restaurant, I guess they've been around for quiet a while. Their food is quiet tasty but the place can do a general cleaning. It is also hot inside as only one aircon is opened. I'm not sure if the other aircon is deffective or they're cutting cost. For a restaurant with dishes worth P200 - P390, customer do deserve a better ambience.

Been to corner tree many time over the years, abit sad that it looks like we were the only customers for the evening. The food is still good, but the service was lacking. Hope that their business will improve.

Cozy atmosphere. Great place for hanging out. I'm not a vegetarian but their vegetarian and vegan options are really delicious. Their banoffee pie is the best one I had.
