Listing the food we had last night by how we liked it and surely we will recommend 1. Seafood Kare Kare 2. Stuffed Bulaklak ng Kalabasa 3. Tofu Sisig 4. Squidobo 5. Salted Egg Shrimps with Crablets, and the last two dish that we had which our least fave and probably won’t recommend are the Pancit Canton and the Sinigang na Salmon sa Bayabas. I am a “sinigang na sabaw” type of person, and I am disappointed with their sinigang. Walang ka asim asim yong sinigang nila, and lastly their Pancit canton, parang walang lasa na boring na ewan. I really can’t explain. I don’t like it at all. And of all the dish that we had, yong pancit canton lang ang maliit ang serving. But, the good thing about the resto are: they have a good space for car park, the ambiance of the resto is soo good. Yong after a long day at work e pupunta ka for dinner? The ambiance is so relaxing. And lastly, they have a menu for vegetarian peeps. So if you’re looking for vegetarian restaurant, you might want to check the uploaded menu! You may thank me later! 😜

Parking is full when we arrived at 11am so we parked on the side street. The staff were helpful and dedicated to their job. Their Bagnet Kare-kare is among my favorites and so with their beef sinigang in watermelon. All the food we ordered including the chicharon Bulaklak tasted good and fresh. If you're looking for a native restaurant, then you can give this a try.

Go-to Filipino restaurant in QC. Been going here for more than 10 years, through its changing location, interior, menu, and staff, but it still checks all the boxes and will always be my default non-quick service when in Teachers Village.

Food is okay. Not that delicious. The sad thing about this is the servers are not that welcoming. You come inside, the guys just stare at you. You don't have water in your glass and you still have to call them. Why not bring a pitcher of water? You're going out the restaurant and the waiters see you and they just ignore you. Better eat at other restaurants with better menus and really good food. Sad. 😔

Kare-kareng bagnet! You must try this if you drop by this restaurant. Parking will be tough though as you might need to park on the side streets.

Good concept for the area, not so good execution taste wise. Its a pity if it actually was supposed to be good, but (sometimes) the cooks don't deliver the original taste the food was intended to be. I can't really say how true that is but the thing is, from what i tasted, the food in general is a little dry and salty. And they priced it with quality in mind, thats why for me, its not worth it coz they didnt meet the quality given the price they charge. Theres other similar restos that deliver the intended taste and quality worth the price.

I came to this place because my daughter raved about a year or so ago, when I was based abroad. Walking through Malingap is a more than a sideshow of the ever changing, highly competitive foodie street Maginhawa. Pipino Vegan used to be on top of the highly touted sister restaurant nearby and has only opened its doors a few months ago and change. They have a modest yet stylish interior, very cozy. Staff are friendly and attentive. I had the vegan kare-kare and it was tasty and really close to the full meat version, without the disappointment of a meatless finish. Like a lot of Pinoy food. it tilted toward the sweet side, i hope they reconsider evoking the peanuty tase of the stew instead of peanut buttery persuasion. The "bagoong" rice is on point and the mushroom bagoong ties the dish well. I cant wait to try my to go Vegan Pansit Sotanghon. This place makes me more excited to go on a plant based diet and will surely come back to try the other dishes. More power to plant power, and this brave establishment sailing along the sea of heavily meat laden Filipino food culture. Much love.

They are finally open again! After a long wait Pino is open. So we went and got their bagnet kare kare, chicharong bulaklak, pumpkin soup and caulirice. Everything is really good. They have remodeled and is more modern looking but it still has that welcoming vibe. However, it was disappointing that they don't have craft beers. I hope they bring it back.

This vegetarian restaurant has gone through a series of remodeling, restructuring and repairs. I have been eating here even before they have come to what they are right now. Now, they are occupying almost the whole building. In the middle of the pandemic, they refurbished the place which is now Pipino (formerly Pino) which caters to the strictly vegetarian. And the Pino, just on the side which is a mix of different delicacies, meat included, of course. And they are planning to transform this to a restobar. And as if to prepare for the worst, the whole block is now open air with roof. There is proper ventilation and the place is like your old traditional restaurant. Well, i tried eating the vegetarian kare-kare...Umm, tastes good even without meat. And nice with unpolished rice with some red mixed into it. The trick here is to blend the bagoong, so you won't feel lacking. I took the Ginger Lemongrass Cooler, and yes...really good to the throat. Not sweet and very refreshing. Kudos to the owners, who never gives up in setting up this kind of alternative restaurant to help us eaters and remind us to keep our diets healthy and balanced.

Great place, helpful and kind people working here. Food quality is a far cry from online reviews on famous blogs. Kare kare bagnet was just okay, apart from the meat being so tough and dry, not juicy at all. Bagoong was fortunately well cooked and seasoned just right. The laing is 1 out of 5 stars, they didn't cook the coconut oil enough for it to give that caramelized taste. Salted egg chicken skin, lacked taste. Needed some pepper and salt. It did't taste salty at all. The sisig is okay. But sisig hooray or king sisig does better. Overall, they need to cook better. People who cook can tell if things are off or excessive. Garlic rice was mainly plain rice topped with garlic, make some effort improving it considering the price difference.

Good Filipino food. We ordered pork sisig, crwamy vegetables and nilagang salmon. Rice needs some improvement as it feels mushy.

The food, especially the bagnet kare-kare, is well presented, though the pork can be a hit or miss because there is a hint of oldness when I tasted a piece of it. The 3 cups of rice are plenty. The salad dish and salted egg shrimp & crablet are delicious. I will reiterate that the pork needs quality control so that it smells and looks fresh.

I regret ordering the adobong tadyang as I was not expecting to get something that tastes like Korean beef stew. Like, who expects to taste the flavor of Korean galbi stew when they see adobo on the menu? I don't even recall tasting any sort of vinegar or sour taste in that sauce. Their steamed pompano and salted egg crablets and shrimp were good. Laing was not too spicy, which is good for me, but probably not for a trueblue Bicolano. Their desserts were a winner, particularly the pecan pie and ube calamansi cheesecake but the slices are understandably smaller now thanks to inflation. This was the first time again in 10 years that I went back to eat here, service is always topnotch, but stick to ordering their bestsellers like bagnet kare-kare.

  • 4/5 alfred n. 5 years ago on Google
Its my 1st time here! Tried their famous Bagnet kare-kare and its delicious. The bagnet is a deep fried pork belly with a crunch. I like the way they serve it, by a separate peanut sauce in a bowl.

The best tasting vegan resto I've tried so far. I'm happy with the food choices I've ordered. The Mac & Cheese is perfect for me since I'm not allowed to take cow's milk. First time to tasted food with Almond milk and it really complement the other ingredients. Their Veggie Triangles is my favorite, it's crunchy and yummy! Pipino shake is refreshingly good too! Worst vegan pizza ever. Worst Takeout pizza ever. sobrang tigas nung crust ng pizza that took 40 mins to prepare. A pizza should just be cooked around 15-20 mins by either electric oven. unless they only used microwave. And the pizza wasn't even been cut. sobrang tigas nung crust you won't be able to chew it. And the toppings is like you sprinkle all kinds of Vegtable there is just to make it they say VeGAN. And the pricing of each food is very badly priced. so bad that only people with MONEY can eat there. and you know what the pizza was priced? 325 pesos for a badly cooked pizza that has a crust that is like a rock

Excellent vegan restaurant. I've had dreams about tofu sisig + mango shake + pili ranch salad. I might just have to go there right now.. oh man and the double chocolate chip cookie or the peanut butter chocolate cupcakes... mmmmmm check out their instagram for pictures of the food because the menu doesn't do a good job of advertising what these dishes look like. MOST HELPFUL STAFF ever, but I can see where the management is training them to be more sales focused but it can come off as kind of pushy which isn't their fault. The business would do a better job of advertising in menu with pictures of the food, or giving out free samples on occasion.

it was a rainy Tuesday night...my friend was shocked we were even able to park...it's usually so full of people but today it was cozy and not too full of people...actually it was empty when we first entered..and slowly diners were teickling in.....not too noisy which is so perfect for conversation with a friend...firat ordered the columbian and the lychee margarita, they were ok.....had very good meal of kare kare lengua...good for us two...we had hito salad first, after the Pino lumpia from the veggie resto upstairs.....adviced the attending persons/not really the clueless waitress, that greens need to be drained properly ... they were sadly soaking as if ...if you were the greens, you were drenched in the rain...but all in all dinner twas fine...if you order sans rival for dessert--beware--it's good for 4 people--so huge!! waitress very attentive and honest...thank you pipino

Tofu Ticino is good with tofu sweetened with pineapple and beets and served with vinegar, veggies and cauliflower rice. Buffalo Cauliflower Wings is excellent - florets in a slightly spicy sauce

The dishes were absolutely delicious. It's a healthier alternative and I guarantee you wouldn't exactly miss the meat. Nice presentation with the plating. Staff is attentive (refilling your water if your glass is empty) and service is fast. Overall a great place to try Vegan food. and yeah.. ditch the awful rap/dance music with the weak speakers and loud volume in such a small space. It might not be irritating to the staff but unfortunately its a conversation killer for the customers.

Pipino is now open again for dine in, but I opted to eat in the car since I had my pet with me. Hopefully more restaurants allow pets to stay with their owners while dining in. I ordered their embotido with pineapple fried rice and it was delicious! It was suggested by the one who assisted in taking my order and I think it was perfect. It was easy/convenient to eat (no mess from sauces and not difficult to eat with takeout cutlery), and it was very flavorful! The meal was savory and sweet, and the textures were a delight to experience-- soft sticky rice, crunchy vegetables, crispy on the outside embotido... Will definitely order it again.

You can find this in the area popular for foodies in QC. Their Monggo Malunggay with having Nori seaweed as vegan chicharon is just genius! Food Taste (5 out of 5) - always a fresh take on the often bland plant based dishes out there. Value for Money (5 out of 5) Their price ranges from 200 to no more than 450. Ambience (4 out of 5) Simple of cozy. Location (5 out of 5) right next to a main road with ample parking and a stone throw away from other good mainstream restos for your non vegetarian friends. I guarantee you will come back!

Good foods at reasonable price. The servings were kinda big, good for sharing. We tried pochero, tofu sisig and chopsuey. The chopsuey comes with their famous cauliflower rice was good. The pochero was also tasty but the banana was still hard. The tofu sisig was served with some kind of crunchy leaves, the crunchy leaves tasted soo good but the tofu sisig was too sour for me. Their lemongrass cucumber and ginger juice is a must try. The serving time was quite slow considering the place was not too crowded when we were there. If you’re a health buff, and love veggies, this one’s a must try!!!

Had this Big Breakfast meal on a weekday; I expected more sausage, but hey, it was plentiful. The potato wedges were fried perfectly, and it was really good. I’m not familiar with the sausages but the one on the left cut open tasted good; the rest were dry. The bacon was thick and sumptuous but we only had one strip each (this was good for two, probably the eggs could tell). Tomatoes were grilled; probably odd but it gave a good balance. The pan was soft and creamy, too. And we capped this off with a banana nutella waffle for dessert. Menu was a bit pricey and you could probably have some of the food with the same quality in a lower price elsewhere. Service was fast and overall, the experience was okay.

I always go for the Vegie Kare-Kare here. The Tablea cheesecake is fantastic but their coffee is overpriced. The acoustics are bad so it can get really noisy. Wait time can also reach up to 40 minutes of the kitchen is busy. I recommend this but beware of the issues I pointed out. :)

Very bittersweet. This is one of my favorite restaurants before. But the quality if really going down. I loved the very sinful seafood gambas aligue pasta (215 pesos). But the last time i ate there, their sauce was so disappointing. They tried making it milkier or saucier but it was just too watery for me and the taste was off. Hopefully they go back to the old recipe. I liked their calamares negra (275), you can eat it without the sauce. Sauce was also disappointing, it was the same as the one in the aligue pasta. Limited parking. Expected from a maginhawa restaurant.

Highly recommended here: Bagnet Kare Kare Sisig Tacos Another thing good about this place is you can also order from PIPINO restaurant if you are into healthy vegetarian dishes. So, a group of health-conscious and those not so conscious could actually go and enjoy a dining experience together.

Pino is back open post pandemic peak with a newly renovated dining room. Excellent menu, very relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff. I'll keep coming back again and again

Bagnet kare-kare was to die for plus I enjoyed their house iced tea. Toffee, their water was extra nice.

Enjoyed the Kalderetang Lengua, perfect timpla for sauce and consistency of lengua. Loved the other dishes too: Kare2x Bagnet, Tortang Talong and Cauli Rice, Chicken Sarsi, and Bagoong Rice.

I've been coming here for a decade. My favorite vegan place, but their non-vegan Filipino food is always a sure-please for any dinner out.

Pipino is my vegan sister's favorite restaurant in QC. I finally got to eat here again after 2years and their food is still as delicious and comforting as before. Upon entrance, their interior design feels natural and elegant in an earthy way. We ordered vegan kare kare, mac n cheese, tofu sisig, bistek, and chocolate cake. And it filled our hungry souls with just a few bites! Mine was the kare kare and I have to say the sarsa is on point if not even better than the original. For meat lovers, you might miss the beef but the vegetables and savory sauce make up for most of it. For cheese lovers, the mac n cheese has chickpea flour as cheese and it's worth a try. Not my favorite but it's an interesting take. The tofu sisig is a thumbs up for me because it's got spice! Each dish is gourmet realness. Their serving time is 10-20mins. The meal prices are a bit more costly than I'd like. It's not very student budget friendly. Their bathroom is very cute with a cool design. They have bidet so that's a plus. Their staff were polite and accomodating. By the way, you can also order non-vegan meals here. You whole family is welcome no matter the dietary preferences they have. Car parking is at their facade. Overall, it's a progressive restaurant and we would come back again for sure.

Pino & Pipino restaurant was renovated to fit the health standards, the front side are all wide windows. There are lots of plant-based dishes to choose from, they are deliciously cooked and presented in appetizing way. My favorites are Callos, veggie kare-kare, spring rolls, veggie triangles, Vegetarian embutido & pinapple fried rice.

That’s the breakfast smoothie on the right - similar to gosalads and close price point. I think it’s 170? The veggie sisig and veggie buffalo wings in veggie butter. The sisig was okay with taste although I expected it to “sizzle” when it was served but was not. The buffalo option tasted like they used sweet chilli sauce where I expected it to be closest to a hot sauce and vegan butter mix only. The place is small and can accommodate 20 people I guess. I came in at 6PM and it was well lit, has no odor and great service. I will go back to try the more Filipino cuisine options like kare kare because they have vegan Bagoong too. For all 3, I think I spent 650 or 700. I paid cash but I think they have card options. It’s not shown in the photo but I used a “glass straw” ♥️♥️♥️♥️ so happy they are conscious about the environment. By the way, they now occupy the place where breakfast and pi used to be. They might have acquired the place. So now, I have more options for vegan food: greens at Tomas morato, pipino At Malingap/Diliman, salad stop and go salad at trinoma and SM north and finally, 8tables at congressional Avenue near San Lorenzo school. Parking is limited and their toilet is newly renovated too.

The food was great! It wasn't my first time to visit but I liked my orders this time as well. The place is so pleasant too and even their staff are nice. 😊 Just didn't like that my wine was served before my meal, so by the time my meal came, it wasn't chilled anymore. Even our appetizer came after our main course, as well. 😅 But all in all, still good.

The salad and buffalo cauliflower was delicious! Service could improve (some waiters not wearing mask even during service).

So glad to know Pino Restaurant is back! 😍 This was my happy place when I used to live in the area. 😊 They renovated the whole resto and replaced the doodle wall art, opting for a more classic Filipino resto look with nature vibe. They also included Pipino (their vegetarian resto that used to be upstairs) on their menu, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds! 😁 We ordered for appetizer: Chichaflowers - fancy chicharong bulaklak! My dad's favorite :D (eat in moderation!) Wicked Walnut (Pipino) - enjoyed the candied walnuts and balsamic dressing! Main course: Kare-kareng Bagnet (their best seller and my favorite! Haha!) Stuffed Chicken Breast - must try! With bacon + cheese inside! Yummy! And for drinks: Pino Iced tea - house blend black tea with some hint of lemongrass :) Looking forward to our next visit! -------- Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Value for money 5/5 Pros: Great food, well-distanced dining tables (they also checked our vax cards before entering the resto), courteous staff Cons: Might be pricey for some; Parking space is limited but they will find you a spot and also allow double parking 🥰❤😍

Creative dishes abound, and while some like the Laing were a bit on the blander side, the Bagnet was well cooked - soft juicy and tender and flavorful - and I really loved the Cauliflower Puffs.

Worth the price. Fine ambiance. I like the varieties of the dishes in their menu. There are plant based and meat options. Their coffee is also great. Nice place to have breakfast or Lucnh. servers are attentive and friendly. With limited parking space.

A little bit fancier than the other Filo restaurant around the block. I'd say this resto is for the more mature/classy diners who want a bit of sophistication and peace in their dining experience. We are a big family so we reserved the 'closed in room' as we don't want to disturb others. The staff were kind enough to accommodate us on all our requests. Foodwise, those are what you'd expect from the dish but was beautifully presented in unusually platters.

Thank you so much to your staff especially Ren for the wonderful service! You helped make my mom’s birthday and our Mothers Day celebration a memorable event for our family. Great food, fantastic service! We appreciate how well you communicated with us during the reservation and planning. You graciously accommodated our requests and needs especially with two babies/toddlers. The food suited our varied preferences. We’re glad we chose Pino for our gathering!

Seafood kare kare is too sweet. Place is outdated. I noticed lady server (cashier) doesn't properly serve dishes. Not worth going here to eat. From the outside, restaurant looks inviting compared to other Maginhawa restaurants. Better off eating somewhere else in a better location.

Last we dined in this resto was before the start of pandemic. Wrong move that we skipped ordering Tadyang (which used to be a favorite of mine) but instead tried the beef brisket. It was not that good. Glad though that their Kare-kare is still good as we were disappointed with the beef.
