Lots of food! It's mostly a 2 lane street walk. So you can walk down one lane with stalls flanking both sides and do a loop back to visit stores in the parallel lane. Set aside about 2 hrs to complete the route (including eating time). There are some clothing and toy stores as well. But the main draw is clearly the food. When in doubt on what to eat, just join the queue :) Two of the must haves: 1. Rice dumplings on ice (this is a proper store in a building to the side of the walking street, entering from the main entrance, it's about a 3min walk on the left) 2. Pepper meat bun (first stall in the middle at the entrance) The avocados are HUGE! Never seen such giant ones before. Can consider buying them whole to bring home. Didn't see any toilets around so you may want to go before you go. Lots of bins around for trash.

A Night Market Gem in Taiwan: Raohe Night Market Raohe Night Market is a vibrant and bustling night market located in Taipei, Taiwan, and it is an absolute must-visit for any traveler seeking an authentic Taiwanese street food experience. I went here because this is the most recommended night market in Taipei for the foods, plus google told me this place got a lot of Michelin star stalls. Turned out that all the foods & drink that I tried non & Michelin was a big zonk for taste 🥲

This is a must visit night market in Taipei. Come here and be wow-ed with how awesome night market in Taipei can be. The variety of food here is huge and the street is easy to walk, basically just 2 direction, from front-to-back and back-to-front. Pictures should speak for the market (stalls are randomly chosen and taken). The only downside is that prices have gone up over the years, so pick your favourites wisely with limited appetite and money set aside to be spent on night market 😬

I needed to choose whether to go to Shilin Night Market or Raoheoje Night Market, but people recommended this place a lot. The scale of the night market was large and all the food I tried was delicious. The scenery nearby is also great. Fired dumplings are on sale at the entrance of the night market, but the queue line is long. But it's delicious. It was the Taiwanese night market itself that I thought of.

I recently had the opportunity to visit a night market in Taiwan for the first time, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The variety of food available was simply amazing, and as a first-timer, I felt compelled to try everything, even the food that may not appeal to a foreigner. But even with my adventurous spirit, I was still blown away by the mushroom stands at the night market. The mushroom dishes were some of the best I've ever tasted, and I would highly recommend them to anyone visiting the market. Overall, I would highly recommend this night market to anyone visiting Taiwan. It's an experience that simply cannot be missed, and I guarantee that you'll be blown away by the quality and variety of food available. Whether you're a seasoned traveler or a first-timer like me, this night market is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Better market than shilin! Food stalls are competitive and overall of good quality. Huge variety of things to try, get the pepper buns, chicken sausage, sweet potato balls. Lots of interesting shops, and a nice linear layout so that you won't get lost.

A definite must-visit Night Market! Our favorite Market out of the million Night markets in Taipei. Never-ending row of Deliciousness + Shopping for Gifts as well. Toasted Pepper buns was #1 on our list & the Braised Beef & intestines were spot on!

The best first-visit night market in Taipei. Rows of delicious food stalls with a variety of shops along the side. Can get crowded during peak time (around 7-8pm) so get there close to opening to beat the lines at the most popular stalls. Also try to visit on weekdays for even less crowds. Most sellers can speak/understand enough English to order with no trouble.

What a great food and what a great ambience! The variety of stalls is huge and so is the type of food. You name it and it’s there. The atmosphere is electric at night and it’s open till late hours.

I like this night market much more than the others. This is the one night market that you can still feel the night market environment. Food stalls, seller making promotions, simple tables.. so much. I wound go back again and again. This night market has many of the Michelin bib gourmand recommended stalls. Easier access with public transport. If you were to choose only 1 night market to go to in Taipei, I would recommend this one. Google before you come for your food hunt, there are many similar stalls, make sure you go to the right one.

Despite the large crowd during the last days of 2023, I surprisingly enjoyed our visit here. There's a tremendous amount of food to choose from to the point you won't be sure which to eat and I think that's a good sign of diversity in a night market. I personally liked the crispy pork the most and thought the famous pork bun in the entrance was okay. Overall, would probably be back again when we get back to Taipei and the crowd is not as many.

This night market is really cool! a lot of typical Taiwan street food is sold and it tastes very good, the food is cheap too. there is a fruit dish that is covered in caramel sauce and is very tasty. there is meat loaf food in front of the market, this food is very famous so many people will queue up. prepare cash.

A great night market to visit with friends and family. The locations is very strategic, right beside the MRT situation with a huge temple in front. So many good food, although some are more expensive compared to other night market. Near rainbow bridge, which has a cozy atmosphere to hangout with your friends and/or dates.

A wonderful night market with lotsa food options. The pepper bun is famous and you can see the long queue for it. The polo bun is incredible: everything a polo bun should be--crispy and flaky on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Also tried the famous herbal soup pork/lamb--warm and hearty on a winter night

Nice experience with local street culture, lot of kind different foods. Night market starts around 6pm and ending at late night. Yes, the hygiene isn’t too good, sometimes the smell was terrible as well. I highly recommend to visit this place and trying some local foods and enjoy all of that options.

Busy night market with locals and tourists. There are quite a lot of stalls but soon find most sell the same food. Prices for the stalls seems quite reasonable and affordable. One down side was the lack of places to stand and eat without getting in the way of people. The night market also smells at some parts and can be quite unbearable so keep that in mind if you have a sensitive nose. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Taipei.

A place that you must visit if you’re in Taipei! All the local hustle and bustle & typical sights and sounds of a night market. We specifically went there for the food - and it was fabulous. I highly suggest skipping dinner and heading over to try all the different foods on offer. There are also local shops and amusement gaming venues however I would have to say that these are not the highlights of the night market.

The place was full of tourists when I was there but it's manageable. This place is just one stretch but there are so many shops here. I was able to buy my Birkenstock which was on sale at that time. The are varieties of street food to choose from and they are very cheap. One must sample as many food as your stomach can take 😋😋🥰👍

i don’t know how they do it, but this place manages to be full of tourists and travellers alike, all without making the place feel touristy at all! come for the food, stay for the vibes ✨ this night market is so good i came back again before i left Taipei! so many options that’s not just limited to Taiwanese delicacies, but some that even reaches Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Thai, etc! best to come with a friend or more because you’re gonna wanna share portions if you want to try more stuff — the portions are serious business! highly recommended 🧡

Not as crowded as the other night markets, maybe because we came on a rainy day, which was good imo. It has a array of food options ranging from bbq beef to desserts and claw machines / games. Be prepared to have cash on you as not all stores accept digital mode of payments

There are many special food in the night market also some interesting games. The price of this might market is reasonable and nice. Also lots of the stand have multiple language sign which is great for international traveler

Step into this lively night market, a real gem where the atmosphere is buzzing with energy and endless possibilities. The food is not just delicious; it's a feast for the senses, and the best part? It won't burn a hole in your pocket. Picture this: you can hop from one stand to another, trying multiple different mouthwatering snacks, all freshly made right in front of you on the streets. But, fair warning, finding a cozy spot to sit isn't easy. Most folks, like me, end up happily munching on these delights while weaving through the lively crowds, making every bite an adventure in itself.

Try the u-bike it’s cheap and you can get everywhere around very fast and cheap. Stations are everywhere and the best part, one is direct in front of the night market.

Awesome market, tons of local delicacies. Absolutely recommended. PS 楊家排骨酥湯 was yummy. Loved it. And the 北京羊肉串 stand is a must try. Tasty skewers with quality juicy and tender meats. One of the best I’ve tried in Taipei. Also the 下港 臭豆腐 was great.

I’m completing my research now before I go to this night market which opens at 16:00. More details about my adventure later... Well, I toured the market for 2 hours beginning at 17:00 and this was good because the drizzle kept many away for the time being. It also looked like a dozen or so vendor spaces were empty so either these were truly not rented out or they stayed away as well. The most I had to wait for any food was 5 minutes; bonus for the favourite foods visitors come here for! I tried mango ice cream in a baked sweet bun, octopus with cheese, stinky tofu, baked onion bun, and beer. This market is much smaller in scale than Shilin Night Market. My opinion is that the food here is much tastier!

Amazing. People everywhere, constant different and exciting food stalls. You can eat on the go but you can also seat in many of them, for eating pork soup, rice bowls... It started raining heavily but all the seating spots are covered so it was a perfect excuse to have warm noodle soup. There is also a really cool temple on one of the entrances. A must go spot.

Better CP value than Ningxia - prices are more affordable even though inflation has also hit Taipei. There are also a few empty stalls. There's a really good beef stall in one lane manned by a dour faced man. Ignore his service - the beef stew is really soft and delicious. There's one Michelin recommended stall of pork rib herbal soup with very long queues.

Exciting night market destination for foodies. A lot of interesting food items to choose from. Carts line the mid section of the street while tourists go too and fro to choose and buy. However, there were just a few stalls open when we came due to bad weather. Different from the crowd when we came here 3 nights ago. But there's a need for toilet facilities for the convenience of everyone. Nevertheless, very enjoyable experience for foodies and for those seeking culinary adventures in Taipei. Must try is the bun baked in clay ovens. Be early to queue because at any given time line is long. Well, except last night because it was raining.

One of the more interesting night markets in the city, with lots of good eats, including several Michelin gourmand stalls. The black pepper beef buns are the most popular, with long queues that go pretty quickly. The buns cost $60 each and are delish. You should also try stinky tofu, shaved peanut ice cream, sesame oil chicken and oyster vermicelli

3 minute walk from my hotel. Been in Taipei for 4 days and went there for 3 nights. Food is exceedingly good and cheap with a wide variety of choices which wouldn’t make me sick of eating the same things again. Crispy pork, broil beef, smelly tofu, fired chicken cutlet, ice green bean drink are good. Seems like all the stalls I went to are very good. Haven’t tried anything that disappointed me. I could go there every night if I stayed there longer

Amazing night market. Not too big and overwhelming. Choices of food are great and though you do see repeated food stores selling same type of food but still consider a good spread Like the vibrant and energetic vibes. Takes about 1-2 hours to walk through and order We were still quite filled in our tummy so we only managed to try 4 dishes. Still a good way to end the day or have dinner here. There are also game store for the kids or even adults to have fun.

Very famous night market in Taiwan. Had a new discovery this time round that there is a river on the side with a view. I cross the bridge and had a sat down for the view and snack on the food I bought from the night market. You can even see the 101 building from here.

Really good night market with a variety of food, snacks, gifts, and claw machines games to try. My number 1 food item which we came across and went back to is the pineapple bun that was freshly baked there with some butter. 😋 We also tried our luck at the claw machines and won some treats for ourselves. The sticky tofu was quite good and strong 👍 The stewed tripe, brisket, and intestines was quite delicious. You pick how much you want and they will weigh it then cut them into pieces for you. We didn't like the picked veggies so we asked them not to put it on the next day we went.

Raohe Street Night Market is one of my favorite night makers at Taipei. There are many foods and drinks, and their prices are very inexpensive. There are so many choices, you don't have to worry about hungry, because you can find your taste of foods in here. The foods are so yummy and very presentable of Taiwan Night Market. Visiting this place is a must!!! It's very hot during summer time as it is open area, and with tons of people. It's better to go Taiwan'e night market at winter or spring if you hate being very hot and wet.

Night market with great food Raohe night market has a great atmosphere with food stalls with a huge range of delicious street food - sausages, cuttlefish, torched beef cubes, pepper beef buns, stinky tofu, oyster omelets ,bubble tea and so much more. There are small eateries along the streets as well. The pepper beef buns is the first stall and are worth the wait in the queue. These were what we especially wanted to taste. Raohe night market was awesome! So many things to look at and eat! Awesome as a foreigner to be able to try so many street foods in one place. Plenty of room to sit down and the food was all well presented and protected from flies etc, which is my number one pet peeves about Asia.

  • 5/5 Ng D. 2 years ago on Google
Every market even though looks the same but actually different. Very busy at usually. Food is cheap but delicious. Grabing a brown sugar milk tea is a must everytime you hit a market. You can find various stores that sell knocked off products. The walking lane here is quite bigger than other markets also, maybe it was still early when we got here. The temple at the front was a pretty nice place to visit even if you were not a Buddhist, very tranquil and peaceful despite the noisy market outside.

The famous night market in Taipei Taiwan! It starts at arround 5:00p.m and close late at night! Here you can find many kinds native and authentic street foods of Taiwan! If you dare to try, example is the stinky tofu, it has a strongly smell. More over there are many delicious foods in this place that won't let you down! By the way, there are shops that sells branded shoes, clothes and accessories etc. It is worth going when you are in Taipei!

This night market has some of the best stinky tofu that you can find in Taiwan. The very last stall opposite of the MRT entrance has a stinky tofu stand that has served tofu with SUPER crispy skin. It was 50 yuan for 4 squares. I highly recommend it if you've had meh stink tofu elsewhere and want to give it a shot

Soooo many good stalls, lots of stores, and a ton of fun! We had the pork buns (good), Mongo fried chicken (good), tempura shrimp and fish (yummy), and sweet potato balls (our favorite!). Just around the corner from the metro, so it’s very convenient for a fun night out.

Great night market with mostly food here! The pepper bun is really worth the hype!!! Made fresh and piping hot, I really love it!!! Also, found my favourite peanut shaved ice cream (which I thought would only be at 九份or 十份) but I found it here so im happy!!! The Korean mozzarella cheese hot dog is so basic but is BOMB too!!! Also, the souffle pancake stall is fantastic! Waiting time is only 6 min, and the serving is huge and generous, and it comes with so many flavours! We tried the milk tea with pearls flavour! Haven't tried bubble tea yet, but we shall see! :)

Try everything from fresh fruit to fried treats. Small shops for thrift items and clothing goods. Cheap prices so you can try a lot of different items. Lively atmosphere in the evening.

Easily the best night market in Taipei. Lots of stores selling authentic, affordable and really yummy local food. You know it’s good when majority of the patrons here are locals.

The night market is situated near green line Songshan MRT station. If you're coming from the blue line, It is also accessible from HouShanPi MRT station. There is a temple at the east end of the night market. Raohe night market offers deliciously cuisine at affordable price. It is usually crowded at weekends.

I like this place and hate the crowded street. But this is fun to visit. Just be careful with pickpockets even though I have never seen one here. There are a lot of famous vendors here. Like the one at entrance, somewhere in the middle with red noodles, fermented tofu, and others. I have always come here when I am in Taipei and it can satisfy my appetite. You shall try as well.

Crowded. Full of delicious food but because i came here alone, I didn’t buy a lot. Recommended to visit with your friends or family. So you can buy a lot of food and share with them.

This night market isn't just another night market in Taiwan; it's designated as a "tourism night market". I guess what sets it apart are the 2 arches on either end of the stretch. Each night market has something that stands out. For this one, it's hands down the well known Fuzhou pepper pie. It's always long line and it's so popular that there are satellite locations all over Taipei. The meat pies are baked inside a primitive tandoor oven where the pies are stuck on the walls of the oven to bake. You won't want to miss this! Another unique one that's a bit one of a kind here is the Blanched Cuttlefish in Basil Sauce, one of my father's favorites here. Of course most of the garden variety night market foods can be found here. Honorable mentions: Sausage inside Glutinous Rice Sausage (大腸包小腸), Taiwanese Spring Rolls (潤餅), Stinky Tofu (臭豆腐)... By the way, it maybe a culture shock that public trash cans are hard to find in Taiwan (but the streets are clean!). This night market included. So aside from the trash bins that belong to individual vendors (they won't accept trash), there simply isn't one available for general garbage disposal, except in front of the information booth at either end of the night market strip. I had to hold on to the consumed food packages and utensils in the mean times. Go figure. The night market strip itself has seen significant changes from what I remembered. New constructions, including a luxury high rise are now transforming the face of this night market. Not sure for better or worse. Only time will tell.

A clean night market with a diverse range of food to choose. Recommend trying the smelly tofu. It was quite crowded as I visited here during weekends. For take home snacks, there is a store selling ready to eat mullet roe too which is quite delicious.

This is one of the better night markets in Taipei. Despite the fact that I went during the weekend, the flow within the night market is smooth as it has 2 lanes instead of 1 and people do not crash into each other. There are also plenty of varieties here and it is not difficult to identify the famous foods within it. Just follow the crowd.

Lively food and shopping market. Definitely more food focused in terms of the stalls. It's all reasonably priced and doesn't feel too touristy. You don't see a ton of people taking photos and blocking the flow of traffic. Some places have long lines but they all move quickly

This night food market was an amazing experience! There were so many different food options to choose from, and everything looked and smelled delicious. I tried the fried chicken and it was some of the tastiest I've ever had. Despite being so delicious, the food was very affordable and I was able to sample a variety of dishes without breaking the bank. I highly recommend checking out this food market if you're looking for a fun and delicious experience!

If you’re a foreigner, you’d be interested to go here as more than half of the food items may be something you’re not familiar with. Everything was reasonably priced, if not affordable. Aside from the food, what makes the area more festive is the addition of stalls where you can play games and win prizes. There are also booths selling electronic accessories, clothes, and more. Like in other night markets in Taiwan, it’s highly suggested to eat less of every item so you can try more ☺️

One long stretch of street selling all sorts of street food. Pepper pork bun was delicious. Roast pork was pretty good with beer. Lots of typical Taiwan street snacks which are yummy.

Perfect place to explore taiwanese street food. So much fun trying out different snacks here. I think this is arguably the biggest night market variety in Taipei

A pretty good night market to visit. Many stores are available and it is quite crowded during the weekends. Tried the famous herbal pork ribs soup. It tastes quite similar to the herbal 肉骨茶 in MY/SG. The pepper meat bun near the entrance is a must try. It is quite peppery, so do prepare for it. Something interesting to try when visiting this night market.

  • 5/5 Matthias K. 8 months ago on Google
Always a must when going to Taipei. Great selection of food, easy to walk, usually not that crazy busy and the most important part: the pork pepper buns at the entrance! Those buns alone are worth going there! Also the rest is very good!

One of the popular Night Markets in Taipei. There are a lot of stores selling all kinds of stuffs like clothing, footwear, hats, hardware, souvenirs... There is also a wide variety of food available, Seafood, grilled meats, fried potato balls... Beverages and desserts like bubble teas, fruit juices, slurpies, flavored shave ice... You may also view the Rainbow bridge from the river banks. A must place to see and experience on any trip to Taipei.

  • 5/5 G a. 5 months ago on Google
One of the bigger night markets in Taipei, like the other ones here you can find a wide variety of Taiwanese cuisine. It gets quite busy in the evening but that's part of the charm of the night markets. Beside food there are few vendors that offer souvenirs, some electronics and so on. But the main attraction is the food, not expensive and very delicious. A must do while in Taipei.

One of the biggest night markets in Taipei with a massive array of food available. Most places are open until around 11pm. We visited on a weekday. Definitely a foodie haven and not to be missed.

  • 4/5 Sven P. 3 months ago on Google New
Its a really nice experience, so much stimulus for the senses. The food that's available is delicious. I of course tried the Michelin-recommended Black pepper bun and it was great! The line is long, but don't let that dissuade you as it moves fast! It is served fresh from the stone oven, so you need to give it about 10 min to cool down, which is no problem since there is so much to see at the market while you let the bun cool down.

Very crowded back in December 2023. There were many stalls with enjoyable foods / snacks which are mostly worth the price. The sellers are nice!
