Stopped in for breakfast while on a Dudes trip to Burlington to see Stavros Halkias comedy show. This place is awesome ..... Great food great atmosphere and great people. Sat down and started talking with the owners like we've been going there for years. My buddy Levi took down the chuck Norris breakfast sandwich like it was his job in under 5 minutes .... Would have been quicker if it wasn't hot and fresh off the griddle ...... They might re-name it the Levo Lane. I wish this place was closer to home because I would definitely be a regular. If you're in the area or even close make sure you stop in and enjoy.

Visiting Burlington from just outside of Philadelphia. My boyfriend and I visited Handy’s this morning and we had a great experience. The minute we walked in we were immediately greeted by the waitress and the cook. We decided to split the Big Daddy’s Breakfast dish and the cook kindly cut all the included items in half which was thoughtful. The food was so good and it was a ton for only about $10 bucks. Handy’s is a cool place that you can tell has a neighborhood following. I also enjoyed hearing the owner discuss with other patrons all the things Handy’s was involved in during the pandemic (like donating time and food/meals to working nurses during the initial Covid shut down). When my boyfriend and I inevitably visit Burlington again in the future, we will be sure to come grab a meal at Handy’s again!

Delicious! Such a cute and small diner, very affordable options and quick service! The owner was cooking when we went and it’s so nice to be able to watch your food be prepared and have the cook himself ask how everything is! So good I had to take a bite first!

Most deliciousness breakfast sandwiches in the whole wild world. Grab a seat and enjoy while sipping a coffee, or walk/drive down to the water and absorb the tranquility of Lake Champlain. Magical enough you forget about the world for a bit.

Amazing!! The food is awesome. The seats may not be suitable for larger humans, but we sat near the entrance. Service was great, the Macho Man was by far one of the best reuben sandwiches I've ever had, and the coffee was so good. Definitely check it out if you're staying in Burlington or passing through.

Handy’s is the authentic diner experience, conveniently close to the train station. All seating is around a U-shaped counter. Earl, the 3rd generation owner, is a sweetheart and the soul of this establishment. He engages with all his customers. The Big Daddy Breakfast certainly lived up to its name…filling and hearty. Next time, I’ll ask for a stronger brew of coffee. Overall a homey spot for breakfast.

This place is great, your quintessential greasy spoon diner! It was busy when we arrived, but there were a few open seats still available at the counter. They only have counter seating, but there are about 13-15 seats. I ordered eggs and bacon which came with home fries and choice of toast, I chose rye. My sister tried the SST which she said was beyond amazing. My food was hot and very tasty too. Definitely a locals type place, but they didn't flinch an eye when us "strangers" showed up. Great service, great food, limited hours, but worth it!

Fun, wraparound diner seating. Good good, generous portions. Atmosphere like Cheer's. It felt like a great local place where people knew each other. Also two blocks from a nice park on the lake and a walking/bike path.

I wish I lived in Burlington so I could become a regular here! The staff was so nice and knew all their regulars by name. It was such a nice experience to have a great meal and get to chat with kind folks. The food was very good, portions were excellent, and the prices are very reasonable!

My family has been coming to this restaurant I think since it opened & I’ve always wanted to visit but living in Florida made it a challenge. We were in VT for a few weeks so we finally had the opportunity. The customer service / food was awesome and we had a great time reminiscing about stories of my Grandfather and his good friend Mr Bob Handy Very memorable visit for my family and I! Highly suggest stopping in here! Thank you!! Ben

Awesome breakfast. I went with the Super G. Legit. I consider myself a breakfast sammich guru, and this is definitely a top 3. I was tempted by the Black Belt, but I’m on a “diet”. If you’re in Burlington, stop in and grab a Sammy. You’ll be happy you did.

Atmosphere is awesome. Walk in and they greet you, food is made pretty much in front of you. Yes a little pricey but WELL WORTH IT. Best breakfast sandwiches around hands down. I'd drink an hours from where I live to eat there again and again.

Classic diner that has a down to earth feel. Prices are very fair and the owner is very friendly. Had the corned beef hash and eggs over easy. I would definitely recommend stopping by.

We were in Burlington to visit UVM from Nashville, and were looking for a great breakfast joint. After a little research we decided on Handy’s, and I couldn’t have been happier. It was delicious. They have lots of breakfast sandwiches to choose from, real French toast, homemade pancakes, and delicious bacon! Couldn’t have felt more welcome to be there too. Really enjoyed it, and look forward to being back!

Simple, delicious and affordable. Great breakfast spot. Good portions and some nice concoctions with french toast. Definitely recommend. If you stick to basics 2 eggs,2 pancake, 3 meats for just under 10$. Check out their specialty sandwich menu. It closes fairly early around 1pm.

I was only in town for one day and I wanted to make sure that I did breakfast right. I looked up and I switch to a few different places and Handy’s seem like the Way to go and boy it was. Every thing tasted amazing. I’m talking some of the best French toast I’ve ever had and probably will ever have. This is an easy recommendation from me to locals and visitors alike.

Cool diner with real food. Watched them crack the eggs for my veggie omelette. Friendly staff and guests. Reminded me of the diners in middle of nowhere Michigan where I grew up. Good experience.

Handy's Lunch a staple of Burlington since 1945. Earl Handy the third generation is as fine of a man as his Dad was before him. Earl's sisters and until a couple of years ago his Mother could be seen helping out. I went with my usual two Texas dogs with fries. Awesome as always.

Great food, great value and a great, longtime family owned Vermont institution to be cherished and valued. Make sure to let Earl know how much you like the food. It's well worth a visit. Big portions too.

Visiting from out of town and looking for a local quick bite. This place was perfect. Cozy space, delicious food, and amazingly friendly staff. Nothing face, just solid basic breakgadt and lunch fare. Reminds me of the small diners in Boston. Wish I lived closer because I'd be a regular here.

Great food, great people, great prices!!! Parking and seating is very very tight. If small, tight quarters make you uncomfortable I highly suggest ordering take out😉 if you love socializing and meeting new people, enjoying a meal with a new friend this is your place🙂

So glad my family happened upon this local diner while spening a few hours in Burlington waiting for a flight. We were greeted by Earl the minute we arrived and had attentive, friendly service the whole time. Food was delicious and filling. I highly recommend Handy's Lunch for great food and wonderful service.

While visiting Burlington, we found this cute, retro, memorable spot to enjoy some breakfast. Our meal was hardy, tasty and all for a great price. The owner was super friendly and really cared about his customers. Seemed like a well-loved, local spot with a staff that puts much of that love back into the community...so we were happy to support it! Definitely check it out.
