The specialist was very professional in the way he dealt with my hearing problem which I have had for a while. The treatment took around 45 minutes and all the way through the specialist was very caring and made sure I was comfortable at all times. Would not hesitate in recommending this practice to friend and family. I was very pleased with my treatment.

I have been wearing NHS hearing aids for the last 20 years, however I found it increasingly difficult to "understand" conversations and despite adjustments this did not improve. Everyday life was a struggle. Hearing Matters was recommended to me by a friend, so I made an appointment and was seen by Brian Unsworth. After a series of tests (some new to me) Brian confirmed I did have a very severe and challenging type of hearing loss, but he felt he could make improvements to my hearing and was happy to set up a trial and let me decide if I could hear any better. So I decided to "give it a go", thank goodness I did, after some fine tuning, my hearing is much improved, and my confidence to speak to people, use the phone, listen to music and take part in conversations has been improved beyond my expectation. My hearing will never be perfect, but I am highly pleased with the improvement I have got. I found Brian's care exceptional, he listened, was patient and understood my problems and has used his knowledge and experience to greatly improve my life. Update - Nov 23 Been using Hearing Matters now for 3 years. Their service over the last 3 years has been first class. Excellent, caring Staff, helpful receptionists, all round good company to do business with.

Amazing!! Partially deaf due to a build up of wax in both ears caused by air pressure and cotton buds. Been to Hearing Matters today and within half an hour I could hear again. Would highly recommend this place. Great service.

After having issues with my ears & muffled hearing, a friend of mine told me about Hearing Matters, how they helped her with her hearing a couple of years ago - a process using a type of vacuum in the ear to clear the wax etc. I was quite desperate so I contacted HM straight away, and had an appointment arranged for the next day. I was greeted by Brian at the door, very pleasant, very considerate & knowledgeable, and I was made very much at ease. He sat me down and put a scope into my ear to show me what was inside, and I actually got a shock at what I saw - I could very much see exactly why my hearing was muffled! I was then taken to another room where he explained the procedure he was about to undertake, and it was quick and easy - and the best thing about it is it got quite loud! This was good as the blockage was removed - I could see exactly what was taken out, and I honestly felt like a new man afterwards, the difference in 'before & after' was astounding. I would highly recommend Hearing Matters, they have certainly helped me, and given the range of services they offer, I'm sure they can help pretty much anyone with any type of problem with their ears. I had an appointment with Lucy-Anne to remove ear wax via micro-suction. The whole process from booking to attending the appointment itself is made easy by the team who's service is second to none. Lucy-Anne explained why I was having trouble hearing and literally minutes later had cleared my ears out and had fixed the issue I'd been having. Cannot thank or recommend them highly enough!

Wonderful to have my hearing back! I’d been living with partial hearing loss since the start of lockdown. Life was becoming miserable and having put up with it for so long, a friend recommended I seek help by contacting the practice. Helen took my call, she was very understanding and arranged an appointment for me to see Clinical Audiologist Brian Unsworth. Following an examination, Brian identified the cause of my problem and gave me treatment in both ears. He was very gentle, explaining everything throughout the process and I’m delighted to say he successfully restored my hearing. I’d recommend the services of Hearing Matters and Brian Unsworth without hesitation. A very friendly and professional practice.

After struggling with ear wax for sometime I am extremely grateful for the treatment and successful removal.I am autistic young adult and found the experience a positive one . The treatment was not stressful and pain free thankfully, as I have sensory issues too. I was made to feel comfortable and at ease throughout my appointment . Highly recommended for anxious people

Excellent hearing aid specialists. Amazing technology and once the most suitable device has been selected, clients have a free trial of some 4 - 6 weeks before having to make a buying decision. Fine tuning visits are made during the trial period. The aids selected for me are far more effective than my old NHS ones. They are also fitted in the ear, so they don't get pulled off removing glasses or Covid masks - a big advantage. Different settings are managed by an App on my mobile phone. All in all, a first class service and good experience, so highly recommended. While the aids aren't cheap, I can go on working now and the cost is justified by the v advanced technology. I just wish I'd done this sooner!

Desperately needed earwax removal after failed attempts to solve the problem myself using one of the well known off the shelf ear wax removal drops brands. Phoned HM an was given a next day appointment. Can only reiterate the comments of the other five star reviews. Excellent professional and helpful service. Earwax removed very quickly and painlessly using micro suction. Would definitely recommend without hesitation. Just wished I’d contacted HM sooner and saved myself a lot of discomfort and poor hearing.
