Beautiful exterior, beautiful interior, beautiful people. I was visiting Salem yesterday and wanted to get a workout in for the day and opened my phone to discover this gym. Upon arrival, I was a little lackluster to see how "small" the gym as compared to other ones I have been to. Oh, how wrong was I to judge a book by its cover. The doors at the entrance into the building are freaking automatic. Some may say, "Who cares?" Well, I do! Because having those doors not only shows the level of quality of the gym but do you know how freaking inconvenient it is to hold the door open for people when enter or exiting a gym? Anyways, I was surprised to see how nice the person was behind the front desk. I never caught her name, but the customer service I received was 100x better than the people I have dealt with at 24 Hour Fitness, L.A. Fitness, and Portland State University. The questions I had about the gym were answered kindly and I was even offered to be given a tour around the facility as well! The gym is huge. If you look at the photos I posted of the entrance, it's a lot bigger than it looks in real life. Now, I'm not going to be a fanboy and completely bias. The interior of the gym may be spacious and wide, the number of equipment and machines the gym had was disappointing considering the price that you pay for a membership is $62 a month. The weight room contains only two power racks that are also used for bench pressing as well. There are two more power racks, but they are in the personal trainer room and can only be used if there is no session in progress. The machines are fairly new, they use the same kind of machines that Planet Fitness uses. There is a decent amount of treadmills and stationary bikes in their own separate rooms, but not much more cardio machines when compared to commercial gyms like Planet Fitness and L.A. Fitness. The last part I want to mention is the community. The community is AMAZING. The employees and the members I have spoken to were are too friendly. I don't know if it's because people in Salem are super nice or if it's the vibe coming from the gym itself, but I was blown away. The niceness is on par with Planet Fitness and Hyatt Hotel gyms, and hundreds of miles beyond better than 24 Hour Fitness, L.A. Fitness, and Portland State University. Overall, I was very pleased with my visit and workout at Courthouse Fitness and I would highly recommend all my friends and family to try it out.

Wonderful experience. Nice, clean facilities. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would recommend. And they are waiving the sign up fee this month (July, 2023) so, I would go if you want to workout or hit the spa(jacuzzi),sauna or pool. They offer classes also in various fitness activities.

I've been hesitant to write a review as I've been a member for over a year and a half. Extensive amount of parking space available even during busy hours. At night it's well lit & my personal favorite because it helps me feel safe when I walk to my car alone After the remodel, I regularly see staff cleaning the facility. There's always an abundance of small towels to wipe down machines along with numerous spray bottles. Weight area- I enjoy the set up. It can be kinda inconvenient when they have a class going on in the turf area next door. I only say this because there's no other area to sit and stretch during construction. I read a review that said something along the lines of the class only being 4 people &they take up the whole room...which is kind of true. Multiple times I've had trainers notify me there will be a class going on shortly, kicking me out 15 minutes til the hour. I'm not trying to minimize their group effort at all. By all means get your groove on. But like, can't I just use the little corner to stretch. It'll only take 7 minutes and then I'm out! Construction- The biggest inconvenience/upset is how long it's taking for the locker rooms to be up & running during their remodel. Their "temporary changing room" is substandard. With the price I'm paying I'd like to be able to utilize the locker room & showers. The main reason I renewed my membership with Courthouse is how convenient the location is for me. So if I want to use the sauna or another amenity that is unavailable during construction my next closest choice is dealing with traffic on the West Salem bridge towards their Edgewater location, Keizer, BattleCreek or South River Road. See my dilemma? I already have a hard time mustering up the courage to step foot in the gym, now I gotta go the extra miles to another spot. Premium membership- maybe I'm not getting my full bang for my buck & need to talk to staff to console me on current classes/activities. I also don't feel comfortable asking whoever is at the front desk as I'll explain later. My biggest let down is their rule that only your guest can visit 5 times out of the calendar year. To my understanding I can have as many different guests...they can only come 5 times. As stated earlier, I'm timid to enter the gym so having a friend/family come along with eases how anxious I can get. For that reason, I don't believe my premium membership is worth it if they are limiting the amount of visits my guest can enter. My guest(s) are the primary reason I upgraded to a premium membership. My biggest con of this facility is how unwelcoming some staff can be. Keyword: SOME. I've been greeted by the elderly staff who wave or smile as they walk by when closing time is near. They are the sweetest. Younger staff often give their welcome and goodbyes. However twice already by different caucasian workers I had a not so pleasant encounter at the front desk while I am trying to check in my guest. One might've been a trainer, so I'll get started with him. When I entered there was 4 employees behind the front desk. 3/4 were occupied with other members on the computer. Once I scanned my barcode I stood there waiting to make eye contact with someone to check in my guest. The one employee that was not busy, casually drinking his water, avoiding eye contact for a hot minute finally looked my way& said "What do you guys need" incredibly bothered. There I am standing with my indigenous guest flabbergasted, I respond that I needed to check in my guest. Perhaps the trainer needs to be trained on customer service. A similar issue occurred while trying to check in a different ethnic guest. The white woman received the name of my hispanic guest and automatically said “You only have 2 visits left” My sister stated she had only been here one other time. Someone else stepped in &said it must've been a double click from the first day. The first worker didn’t apologize for misreading the computer in front of her, continued to aggressively advertise that after her 5th visit she NEEDS to become a member in order to come in.

For being one of the pricier gyms in the area, the service and equipment falls fairly short In this Courthouse location. Several malfunctioning equipment, old and egged basketballs and service to match.

Something is always broken. Steam room and hot tub now. Said its a “Supply Chain Issue”. Had guests on two different occasions. First night the young lady was super helpful and friendly. Second time a younger male not so much. When leaving and older guy stopped my guest in a cold manner and said he needed to sign a form. My guest explained that he already did and upon further investigation the staff member discovered he was wrong. Slightly embarrassing and he should have collected the correct information before he came at them like that. Needs to be better training of staff apparently, especially on guest policies so that when questions arise they don’t respond with “uggghhhhh”

I visit this gym at least 6 times a week at various times of the day and absolutely LOVE every time I go in there. The environment is inviting. The staff members are always attentive. The managers are down-to-earth, personable people that often walkthe gym areas and make meaningful conversation and relations with the members. Fun is always an opportunity with the groupx classes, the various spaces for exercise (even during the remodel) and the communities that surround them. If you are an independent trainee, people are friendly and accommodating to treat each other with common respect here. Anyone that doesn’t feel welcome here is due to any negative energy or character behavior that makes them feel inferior. This is THE PERFECT GYM!! And it’ll be even better with the new upcoming remodeled areas 🔥 Come to first Friday of the month mornings for Gluten-Free Protein Muffins and Coffee!!

[Response: Okay, Drew, I didn't know I could still use the spin bikes even when a class is in session. Good to know! 5 stars for me then.] It is not a bad place. I think it's $65/month for access to all locations and every location has a pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi with locker rooms. $5/month for a personal locker. $30/month to use the kid's place for 2 hours max per day. The Keizer and West location have outdoor pools where the kids swim in a lot. They have Kickboxing, Yoga, Jui Jitsu, Spin classes, and personal trainers. I give this place 4 stars mainly because I think the Cycling Bikes there should be some outside of the spin classes because when I'm off work classes are always in session during the times I want to use the cycling bikes. There is also a $5/month fee to use my credit card instead of my banking account which isn't too big of a deal to me, since I read reviews of them not wanting to cancel accounts. These Courthouse Club Fitness places seem okay so far and I'm able to keep to myself without anyone bothering me, which is really what I like in a gym is to be left alone to relax then leave. LOL.

I went in once for $10, and then the managers asked me to buy a membership, I don’t need it, I rarely go. I have never seen worse service. I give one star
