I wanted to really like this place 1:3 things we purchased was authentic: atole, which is a traditional cornmeal drink was excellent. The food not so much. The super carnitas burrito had cubed meat, not carnitas, heavy on the sour cream and tomato sauce flavored rice that was not pleasant. The shrimp cocktail can best be described as ketchup flavored diced onion concoction that could not be improved on, so we fished the shrimp out to rinse them out, but they could not be salvaged. Other than that the side of fries was great, but we were going for Mexican food. I’m not sure I’m brave enough to spend $ trying them out, but perhaps some of their other menu items are better… then again a burrito is pretty basic and I would never try it again at this place.

Should only be 5 stars for this place! Best homemade corn tortillas…gorditas were what my dreams are made of! Sooooo good! They even obliged my request for an egg breakfast Gordita!!

This little joint is way too good. I've been searching Salem for a good little place and I found it today. My picture is of their Gorditas, and they're superb. 3 for $9 and I could barely finish them due to the great portions they serve. They're so perfectly crisp and filled with meat of your choice, lettuce, sour cream, and cojita. Little pockets of flavor I'll be getting regularly. Try this place out, if you're unsure, try the Gorditas with a meat of your choice, you won't be disappointed. I got my 3 with different meat in each (I'm sure vegetable-only is an option). The horchata is also light and thirst quenching. Also, they're extremely friendly and accommodating, and their side sauces are outstanding.

Best gorditas and salsa is amazing

I hadn't been here before, but I am so glad I know they are here! Juniors Taquiera was wonderful! Normally, I prefer to havethe green tomatillo salsa or avocado salsa, but my friend and co-worker recommend I try Juniors red sauce. I loved it! All of their tacos are much larger than the typical served on vendor trucks. Juniors uses 5-6 inch tortillas instead of the small 3 inch ones, but that's just more for your money. Their horchata hit the spot, for a nice refreshing, vibrant taste. Lastly, I wish I had ordered a serving of corn tortillas, only to put a second one around each taco, but this is just a preference, and certainly does not diminish my experience, at all! Terrific work, Juniors Taquiera!

I am only dissatisfied because I have food alergies and had a discussion with the staff before ordering. I was assured that what I ordered would be ok. While it was yummy, it most definitely caused a reaction.

Love this place! Get the gorditas almost everytime! So good, great lunch spot. Everything we've tried has been phenomenal. Do your self a favor and give them a shot, you won't be disappointed. They are only open for lunch everyday but Friday. Friday they stay open later. The red hot sauce is some of the best hot sauce I have tried. Use to buy a little cup to take home for our family taco night. Overall the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Great lil hole in the wall!

I've only had burritos from here, and I've gotten a different meat each time- each had been great. Juicy, good flavor. Their hot sauces are great, they're a sweet, dark red one that's really unique.

My girlfriend showed me this place, my two favorite things at this restaurant is their salsa, and the fact that they sell tripa. I usually eat their burritos which are well sized. If you want a Mexican restaurant to eat at, eat here.

Juniors taqueria has the best food love this place. I especially love their gorditas and their red salsa is the best.

Our first time eating there and everything was great from start to finish. A warm greeting from the staff, classic Mexican dishes on the menu. Everything made from scratch down to the horchata, tortillas and salsas. We went at 2 on a Tues so I like we got lucky. Theirs is some of the best I've had in 30 years. You gotta try Mama's homemade salsa. It's where it's at. We'll probably see you again next Tues. Thanks again.

My family and I love eating at Jr's! So far, everything we have eaten has been great! I'm pretty sure they make their own corn tortillas, and they are delicious! Thick enough, you don't need 2 tortillas for 1 taco. And bigger than the normal street tacos that we get elsewhere. I highly recommend Jr's!

The atmosphere and service was phenomenal. I enjoyed the cultural music and vibe of the place. Unfortunately, I was hungry afterwards. For a $12 plate, I guess I prefer to be full. I think the food was authentic Mexican food. My mom and little sister live in Mexico. The food here tastes like the food out there whenever I go out to visit.

The BEST homemade tasting Mexican food in Salem. I grew up eating my mom’s (and abuelita’s) authentic homemade Mexican food and Junior’s Taqueria is the closest thing to what I grew up on. Their burritos are so perfect. Everyone who works there is so nice & friendly too. I also wanted to add that I’m vegan and my husband & daughter are vegetarian and Juniors Taqueria has vegan/vegetarian options. They don’t use lard and they let us put together orders that aren’t on their posted menu and are happy to do it for us.

Honestly, it's so good it's my number one place to go for pazole or menudo. I love that they will add homeny without a problem the service was fast and the food was absolutely 💯 delicious 😋

I've been here several times. Good cheap Mexican food. The first time I went there, a young guy was working. I'm assuming family or something. But I wanted something different and asked what his favorite was. He suggested the torta Napolitana pr maybe it was milinasa (probably spelled that wrong) but it was a torta with deep fried steak, ham, and a white cheese with the normal veggies. Dude... delicious! I tried it at aibertos later and no where near as good! If I'm craving cheap Mexican food and they are open, this is where I'm going!

I usually have good experiences here but today I ordered food to go and when I got home my sopes barely had any beans and didn’t have any cheese regardless of them being ordered as such as I don’t eat meat. They also raised prices and it’s not worth for how plain they were. Truly disappointed

This has to be one of the best places for a burrito in town. Carne asada burrito everytime. Service is great too.

Great fish tacos and they have that delicious orange sauce here and homemade tortillas so win win. I'll be back, if I can make it before they close. Only open 5 hours a day? That really sucks. So technically my rating would be 4.5 because of that.
