Good experiences with nice views. Little trail to the top who adventurous to get a much higher view. The place was very neat and well kept. However there isn't any restroom areas which are working. The ones that there are just not even working and in a very gross state. But other than that a nice place for pictures and a stroll through nature.

The place was recently renovated. The benches were repaired and painted. The trails were trimmed and very well kept. The entire area was clean and neat. However, the place is not usually like this so on another visit it may be different. There are bathroom facilities but they are not well maintained. The view of Las Cuevas Bay and the surrounding is fantastic. The trails have a decent incline and is great exercise. It opens up to wonderful lookout points. The area is unsafe and visits should be done in large groups.

It's a historical site I never knew about. Great scenery even on a rainy day. Lovely view of the beach and the sound of the waves crashing makes it a must-have experience. Perfect for a relaxing day outdoors and the stairs is ideal for a nice workout.

Beautiful views and two cannons to see. The caretaker seems to be an exceptional person given how extremely clean the place is kept.

Discovered this Fort about 14 years ago. It is beautiful. The view is nice and a little walk down some steps/rocks will lead you to a wonderful area. The water there is always blue/green. Great for pictures.

Fort Abercromby its lookout points and the history that comes along with it is all fascinating. The wonders of long ago. The place is well kept clean. Different things to do there the different look out points, cliff fishing, hiking, picnic at the top of lookout #2 the views were breath taking. A direct view of Las Cuevas beach the fishing village and much more. The public washrooms are completely dilapidated and out of order someone should look into fixing it amd then it can be a sustainable place of interest for many different recreational things. I enjoyed it

A lesser know hidden gem along the north coast. Clean, safe and serene. A good place to sit and relax with your thoughts or loved ones. I highly recommend a visit.

The view from here is gorgeous. Nice short walk up to the look out point or you can just relax by the canons. Place needs some maintenance work however.

Really a phenomenal spot! I do think you need to be careful with descending and ascending the stairs as they’re very steep

  • 5/5 Jason 1 year ago on Google • 15 reviews
A very nice view, don’t go up the stairs unless you want the exercise

The Fort itself is not all that great. The trees at the lookout should be trimmed if visitors want to have a better view of the Ocean.

From a historical point of view, there is not much to see here except two old cannons. But look to the right of the cannons down the slope a little and you can see some concrete on the cliff top. This is the top of steps down to a delightful hidden cove. There is a walk along the cliff top (uphill), but the views are generally spoilt by foliage that I doubt would have been there while the first was active.

Originally intended to go Las Cuevas, we ended up going Fort Abercromby on a whim. The fort and lookout itself was a little underwhelming but the area is beautiful, and there are lots of trails that the adventurous can have many hikes through.

(Translated by Google) Fort Abercromby, there are only two poor guns left against a low wall. The site could be nicer if it was maintained. A path just before the cannons leaves on your right to climb on top of the cliff, but also no maintenance. the rest of a bench is buried in the vegetation. No panorama. The two stars come from the small path that can be taken after the guns to go down into a creek. Surprise a beautiful ray. Bonne balade

A hidden gem that you must see if your a nature lover and of course an excellent spot for amazing photos but remember keep it a gem by not littering!

  • 3/5 Alyx J. 5 years ago on Google
Historical relic of the past, but in dire need of proper renovation, has alot of potential with some great views of las cuevas bay and ocean backdrops.

  • 4/5 Wesley K. 5 years ago on Google
It was nice to discover this place. While it is not maintained, it is still a very nice place to come see and soend a couple hours. A nice walk down some steep stairs to a nice rock over an inlet. So you need to be fairly fit to make it down to the rock. Beautiful scenery. Tried fishing. Think there may be potential at right times.

It's definitely one of those gems we have here in Trinidad. Passed the old cannons, to the sea edge. Followed that up with the staircase leading to the lookouts and, of course, a really refreshing beach bath. Definitely somewhere I need to revisit, and soon

  • 4/5 Keri A. 4 years ago on Google
Fort Abercromby is insanely beautiful; one of the lesser known Forts but it has a lot to offer. You can spearfish there and it even has a lookout. On the downside TPRC needs to do some tidying and maintenance work. I urge visitors to pick up any garbage they may see as well. We must do what we can to preserve this historic site.

Amazing view on a sunny day. Lots of photo opportunities, both landscape and portraits of friends and loved ones. However there are no facilities whatsoever save a railing to the "lookout" which is overgrown. With proper maintenance the area could attract a lot more tourist and local traffic.
