Visited
Masjid
Agung
Palembang
(the
Great
Mosque
of
Palembang)
on
16/Mar/2020,
when
I
could
not
read/speak
Indonesian
at
all.π
The
mosque
is
the
largest
mosque
in
Palembang,
with
area
15,400
square
meter.
Before
Sultan
Mahmud
Badaruddin
I
Jayo
Wikramo
rebuilt
this
mosque
in
the
18th
century,
it
was
founded
by
Sultan
Ki
Gede
Ing
Suro
in
the
17th
century.
It
is
said
that
the
mosque
forms
the
original
Malay
and
Arab
villages
for
a
long
time
in
Palembang.
I
visited
the
mosque
in
early
morning,
the
scene
of
the
mosque
at
dawn
was
too
impressive
to
be
real.
I
didnβt
enter
the
mosque
because
I
was
not
sure
whether
I
would
be
allowed
or
not,
if
thereβs
any
opportunity
to
revisit
Palembang,
I
will
go
inside
to
explore
more.
