We looking forward to try the almond croissant but unfortunately it already sold out. So we try strawberry danish and meat pie, which pretty decent but still not what we expect from the lot of good reviews written. Personally, prefer the pastry to be more flaky and the filling both sweet or savour more balanced. Place is indeed pretty picturesque if you like to take a photo but not that much place for dine in. I recommend to come in the morning if you want to try all their selection and want to dine in.

If you like warm, flakey, buttery croissants, you are definitely in the right place. Don't get too late or you'll get nothing. Early weekend breakfast is the best time.

The store smell is awesome. It’s a small but very cute croissant store with a very chill vibe. I usually get my take out croissant here, but their seating areas are pretty cosy tho’.

My fave pastry place! They have various options of pastry, super tasty with affordable price. The place is cozy and instagramable, it’s a nice place for hangout in the afternoon or after office time. Unfortunately the coffee isn’t so good. And sometimes most of the bestseller items are sold out, but they usually restock it again at noon. If you want to try their various or bestseller items i suggest to come around 9-11am. But i still love this place, everything beside the coffee is nice, the pastries, the place, the staff even the parking man is friendly n has a good manner!

Reallyyy super delicious. The croissant is not too expensive. The original croissant priced for 16k only. But beware of the queue because it can be an hour long of wait or more. Place is cute too with the red themed decoration.

I think they have one of the best croissants I've ever tasted - at least in Malang. Their croissant has a beautiful layer and very rich in butter. Besides that, I also recommend their kouign amann and pain au chocolate.

The place is perfect for people who are looking for soothing and ambience. Cool weather and breezy wind combined with slow songs make this the right spot for hanging out alone or with friends. The staff are nice and friendly. The furniture are cute, even the utensils are aesthetically pleasing.

Many years ago, it’s unimaginable finding a proper french patisserie in Malang. This place takes their pastries seriously. Ordered three different pastries and cake, they all hit the right spot. The ambiance is another thing. Early open hours is also a plus. Came here during Eid holiday and it flooded with the locals.

A good place to go! the place is very easy to be found, they sell a lot of types of croissants, and all the types that I bought are very delicious. They also sell other foodies besides pastries and cakes. The place is so good, so pretty, and gives oldish vibes. the parking area is available. good services, kind and friendly staff. recommended!

I celebrated my birthday alone here; eating, drinking, reading and watching the water fell as it rained. An undoubtedly place to spend a good time for any occasion actually esp chilling. The Caramel Latte surprisingly tastes good. Please don't hesitate to ask for a glass of ice cube so its sweetness can be adjusted by the melted ice cube but again, all is good. Certainly coming back here is already on my agenda. :)

im so late at reviewing retawu deli bc i went there like 3 months ago but im gonna do it anyway lol. i discover this place via google, and went there for breakfast. lots of fresh kind of croissants and other pastries, i ordered the strawberry danish and the cheese croissant (i forgot the real name) and coffee, it was all so GOOD, the acidity of the coffee is kinda alot for me but that's just preference. the atmosphere were so cozy for a sunny morning. perfect way to start the day. best croissant ive ever had for now!

Croissants and all were amazing. The cappuccino was strong enough with a taste of milky arabicas coffee. This time I ordered pain au chocolat and vanilla flan. Both were seriously mouthwatering. Ambience was a bit crowded because of long weekend afternoons. But still enjoyable.

No doubt, so far this is the best croissants! The place is pretty but quite crowded Yet it's a must try if you visit Malang!

They have the best pastry in town. My favorite is grandma croissant with extra butter (def champion). Price is moderate. 18k - 50k. Place is nice (since it's a dutch house) and has wide parking lot. Easy access both for bike or car.

  • 4/5 Rendy K. 3 years ago on Google
For croissant itself, retawu deli has pretty much options. Just remember they have different time for baking the croissant in a day, so make sure you come at the right time. Taste ? Pretty good actually, i've tried extra butter and cheese. Pastry has good crunchiness and good layering. The downside ? Queueing time. I had wait approx 40 minutes to be served, and their dine in capacity is not much.

Best croissant My favorite : Almond Croissant You have to wake up early, their stock is very limited. And sometimes others buy in bulk. Indoor spaces is quite small. Outdoor spaces is quite big, but it’s very hot in this tropical weather.

This is a famous deli, lot of people came here from other cities. I must say that it's croissants are delicious. But the downside is their prices, it's quite expensive in my opinion. It's about 17.000 rupiah a piece (August 7th, 2021).

Attracted to try Retawu Deli since the first time I saw the exterior on Instagram. Turns out it's not only the exterior that captivates me, but the interior design and ambience too. All menus are interesting for me ; from croissant to tartlet, even the open kitchen menus. But since I came here alone, my capacity was only one menu so I chose its specialty : croissant. I ordered Au Fromage (4 cheese) for 33k and Hot Cappuccino (28k). Have no words to describe how I love the croissant! It's crunchy, savoury, and soft, literally perfect to accompany my morning. The staffs were nice and helpful too. Retawu Deli also provides nice packaging for take away.

It's cozy and they have quite good selections of homemade croissant.. Coffee is not their strongest point here, so don't expect wonderful coffee.. They sell other drinks too, like soy milk and juices.. But definitely recommend the croissants.. And come early in the morning to get better selections.. :) The price ranged 15-50k rupiah per item.. And the place is quite open space, so it has good air circulation..

I tried the soup, it was sweet, i thought mushroom soup should be savoury. How wrong i was. The presentation was cute though. Overall, the dishes had great presentations, however all of them tasted sweet, which are not for me. The desserts: for the choco mousse cake - i am not sure about what i should be tasting, even when you know what is inside from the description, i got confused about the taste. -eclair: quite great, better that choco i think -tiramisu: ordinary, the texture was a bit dense, like when it was left in the fridge for a few days.

The food, the place, & the people, are outstandingly perfect. Kudos to the cooks & the waiters, they’re doing the job with all all their hearts. So far, it’s my no. 1 place in Malang

Nice croissants. I prefer the sweet variants. Good atmosphere, a lot of people come in for their breakfast early in the morning. People said their croissant usually sold out by afternoon. They serve the croissant warm, freshly toasted on the oven. They also offer free water, and warmed face towel. There's outdoor seating area, and small comfortbale dine in area inside. Quite wide parking area, and easy access from the main road.

I am french and I have tried the pain au chocolat and the kouign Amann. The pain au chocolat is pretty good and it tastes like a pain au chocolat from a good bakery in France. It feels handmade and the chocolate too. The kouign Amann is tasty but doesn’t taste like the traditional one. And I think it shouldn’t be called like this. In France, we only use 100% butter in our pastries but I feel that there is also oil (cheaper). The employee said the owner is Indonesian and doesn’t have any French connection. I think he did a good job tho. I would also have preferred a more professional environnment, it seems it is like student mood. When they see foreigners they seem awkward.

I was curious because so many people praised the delicious pastry in this place. So I visited at 10 am but the queue was already long. I bought Pain au Chocolat, strawberry Danish and Grandma Favourite. Not too many choices because many have run out and are still baking. But my choice, it turns out all are delicious. The chocolate in the pastry is also delicious, the original bitter taste of the original chocolate. For pastry fans, this place is worth a visit.
