This temple is one of the prehistoric temple in Ubud area..The temple is located at Bedahulu Village, which is one of the big and famous kingdom in Bali long time a go. this temple is just about 10/15 minutes fro Ubud center. You need to wear sarong to go inside of the temple. Entrance fee is idr50.000 per person. They will provide you the sarong and help you to wear it. Come to the temple area, you will see first pool area, which is the place for purification and holly water. Second area is the cave with a very nice carving at the entrance. Its elephant face but in Balinese style. you can come inside of the cave, you will find a meditation place from long time a go. and a statue of Ganesha, Lingga and Yoni. after this area, there is one more temple on the east area, a normal temple as in general temple. Then you will walk down till the river side. In this area you can take some nice picture of the area, and also the big trees.. ao.. come and visit, dont miss it.. regard fro Ubud Bali

A wonderful temple complex. Both Hindu and Buddhist temples are on this site. Do not buy a sarong at the entrance stalls, as they have them free for visitors when you go in. Be aware you pay an entry fee 50,000 per foreign visitor adult and turn if you have a tour they'll ask for upwards of 100,000 for the tour. Set the price before you begin. The tour is definitely worth it as they tell you all about the different areas in the temples.

This is a really nice temple grounds. The temples themselves aren’t necessarily the most impressive, however the grounds are beautiful and have been well maintained. So much greenery is present, and the place is beautiful. It was also very quiet here, very few visitors were there while we were which added to how lovely the place was. You receive a free rental sarong when you pay entry if you need to cover up, though the sellers outside the area will try to make you buy one from them. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Skip it unless you have nothing else to do. Unfortunately, this was the least maintained of all the temples/places we have been in Bali. Even the leaves are not swept. We did not find it intriguing but who knows, you might find it interesting. The place has too many peddlers. Avoid all of them and go straight to the ticket counter. You will need to cover up if you are wearing a short dress. The sarong to do so is provided free of cost. The peddlers will try to sell you this. Ignore them.

Historic Temple and very expansive grounds. Set on the side of a mountain, and includes tropical valley with ponds and waterfall inside this amazing site. Bring or rent a Sarong to cover bare shoulders and knees. See the small Cave used for meditating. Relax in thia tropical Oasis.

If you take ticket entry, Service shall be provided, not just take people money and take granteed of it, then better just wrote Donation, and let people who willing to give their money only, the rest let people keep coming and welcome them, think about long term future of this place, if you want Tourist keep coming in, you better change the way you welcome them.

Nothing special to see here especially taking the comparatively high entrance fee into consideration. The most exciting thing is the elephant cave which you finish in a few minutes. Negative is that everyone is actively trying to scam you. Be aware when you drive on the parking place that you do not need to park in front of the stores (the shop owners will literally come running to you and tell you to park in front of their shop). You can drive further to the entrance and park there. The shop owners do this to sell (scam) you into buying a rag to cover your legs as it is mandatory to wear one inside the temple. But they don't tell you, and when confronted lie, that the temple provides them for free. The biggest problem with this however is that the guys responsible for the parking are in on the scam as they also tell you to buy one.. Can really not recommend visiting here

An ancient cave temple of unknown date. The Buddhist temple on the grounds was destroyed by an earthquake. Grounds are gorgeous with a beautiful carved gate to the cave

A big public temple according to our guide. The cave is pretty small and there’s a very small waterfall within the temple grounds. There was a small Chinese temple inside but the guide said that it was destroyed by nature. You can see some of the ruins of the Chinese temple inside this big public temple. We also saw some locals preparing for a celebration of sorts. Overall, an interesting visit to know more about the Balinese culture.

Nice temple with an outstanding forest type area with streams. The temple is very nice and many rituals are being performed. Beware of unofficial people trying to be your guide.

Seeing as we were in Bali, we thought we’d give the temple a go and push ourselves into some “local” culture - this place is suited for tourists as you will have people coming up trying to sell you Sarong’s (make sure you buy one locally first as I can imagine them being a bit pricey here) The temple grounds are quite big, if guides offer to show you around you can accept, just be prepared to pay them for their time and knowledge - you can just go around by yourself taking it all in, make sure you go into the cave to see the three statues inside. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained.

There is a nice experience to visit, it is not crowded and no need to queue. **Do not need to buy sarong at stall, once you get ticket checking there is a free rental sarong at ticket checking and the entrance already included. Fortunately I had a local driver to tell me about that. There is two temple ( Hindu and Buddha ) temple the entrance cost, 50k Rupiah. And there is a lot of guide tour down there once u enter and it may cost 100k per session they will bring u all around the temple and tell you the stories of the temple. I dint take the session, I just reject it. Every temple almost the same. And there is a restaurant and gelato at exit there. Reasonable price but I already full, so i dint take it 😂

Old temple heritage , perhaps they are a complex of hermitage of Budist monk. Located near a river gorge. Very close to Ubud.

Fairly extensive temple with both a Hindu and Buddhist side, both are very lovely, I especially liked the Buddhist side with the waterfall, bridge and stream, and a short walking trail to the river, unfortunately the site could use a bit of a clean as there was quite a bit of garbage in the pool underneath the waterfall, but well worth a visit

This was a Hindu & Buddhist temple dating back to the 9th century. Its discovery dates back 100 years ago. It can be visited to understand the cultural and political history of Bali. There is an entrance fee. You need to cover your legs with a sarong to enter the temple. When you come to the parking lot, they will insistently want to sell it to you. Get rid of the vendors coming at you and continue to the entrance of the temple. It will be given to you there for free.

If you want to know the history of this place, please search for a guide first! All of the people there were very nice to me as I was traveling here alone. Would love to visit again next time!

Had a look around this morning. Nice, green, historical.. touts, no doubt. I didn’t get caught up in the ones posing as guides either - it’s easy to do solo. 50,000 IDR entry

Doing a special review for the unique handmade leather bag shop that we discovered at the entrance of the elephant cave. Here is endearing uncle who is selling his handmade bags that he crafts with his friend. He says it is handmade with pride is his eyes! Great craftsmanship - we aren't experts but the stitches and quality of material are sturdy. There was cowhide & snakeskin. I was delighted at the range! Satchels, backpacks, sling bags, crossbody bags, laptop bags. Designs of the bags are also mostly only one-piece, sometimes with 2-3 colour options for each design. We did not come across similar bags in Ubud central, so am assuming this is pretty special. Uncle said ours was his first sale in a week. Do drop by and support his place if you are visiting!

Ehhh. It's alright, not that the temple itself isn't beautiful, but there's so many great sights to enjoy around Ubud and despite the proximity of this temple (or perhaps because of it...) this was the least enjoyable. As others have said, don't feel too bad about skipping. It is a bit small, but that's ok, it's still beautiful just means it's a shorter experience. 50k to enter, includes sarong to borrow (mandatory). The "guides" who approach you inside are rather pushy and although I'm sure some have great information to share... I don't like being taken advantage of (e.g. let me give you a tour, with no pre-negotiated price, and "you can decide how much to pay me afterwards" at which point they will tell you it's not nearly enough). Just doesn't sit right with me, especially in holy places.

There is not much to see therefore the entrance fee is quite high. We regret coming here as it was nothing special. Locals try to rip you as usual. Selling their service that not even true

  • 2/5 M. 1 year ago on Google
Locals prey on tourists here. Sarong sellers will ambush you as soon as car door open. Your driver is likely complicit as ours was, not mentioning that sarong is free at temple entrance. They will use urgency scam to get you to buy sarong at 10x normal price. Sarong is free to borrow and included in ticket price for most temples including this one. Anyone that follows you is expecting tip. Most if not all surviving Balinese historical structure is used to extract as much money from tourist as possible. It definitely leaves you with a sour feeling and a target on your back.

Peaceful temple. 30K entrance for locals. ( i think this includes borrowing sarongs) They did not accept cashless. A bit dissapointing since this is a tourist site. Very easy to reach. A symbol of religious harmony between hindu and budha. Bringing your own sarong is nice as well. Local small shop owners will try to sell sarongs to you, sometimes a bit forcing. Keep calm

Not a bad experience, not much to see but still an interesting experience. The tour guides will want to give you a tour and they will expect you to pay them.

It's a must when in Ubud. I recommend to look for Mang Nik and ask her for a guided tour to the waterfall through the forest, great experience and she is super nice and kind.

👍👍 My favourite temple in Bali. It has such a powerful energy and historically is one of the most important temples. Try and visit when there is a ceremony on. If it’s an Odelan - this lasts 1 month. Every time I visit the people are so happy And so friendly .
