This place was absolutely incredible. We stayed one night. We have a 29ft RV and we found about 3 good spots to park off to the side and not in anyones way up front. We parked in the rock climbing lot area but there are two areas to park. Be careful it is rocky and rough terrain. We went during the week and it wasn’t too busy. You need a Washington State Discovery Pass to park here.

Just amazing!! If your traveling anywhere close to this area you must stop and check it out day or night!! There is a waterfall a river rock climbing hiking trails and scenic vistas for miles and miles and at night minimal light pollution and hardly any man made noise

This was an amazing stop!! If you are short on time or have mobility issues it's still worth pulling off and driving the road down to the boat launch and back. The scenery is fantastic. If you like to hike and boulder, even better! We stopped off at "the feathers" and climbed and scrambled for about an hour before completing the drive. The dirt was very loose, but if you take it slow and cling to the cliff you'll do fine. We were enthralled! At the end of the park, by the boat launch, is a paved trail.

It’s hard to put this place into words! One of the most breathtaking spots in Washington for sure. We eloped here right under the waterfall and have the coordinates tattooed, so it’s a very very special location to us. You can rock climb the feathers (tall rock formations) go for a hike through the “canyon” or head down a few minutes to the boat launch right to the Columbia River!

Killer spot to camp, climb and swim. Breathtaking views and plenty of space to pitch a tent. We chose this spot because it was a quick drive over to the Gorge amphitheater for a show (around 15 min without traffic) Down the road is a boat ramp and water access to dip in which you’ll want in the summer. Not too much shade. There are two bathrooms but bring TP. Also bring more water than you expect to drink

A hidden gem. Dispersed camping, very pretty. Only a few minutes off the freeway.

Gorgeous scenery. Quick stop on our way to The Gorge. There is a pretty intense drop off the sides, so be careful if you have little ones with you.

I didn’t have time and energy to walk down the valley but the parking spot view is amazing. The photo can not show you how majestic scenery.

This hike was in the Frenchman Coulee in the Quincy Lakes Wildlife Area. An awesome hike and a great workout! If you like sagebrush, it has a lot. If you fancy basalt rock, its got you covered. And its got stunning views of the Columbia River gorge. Its also a bit known for rock climbing! The hiking trails run the gambit from easy, fairly flat to climbing near vertical rock staircases. You walk through all the trail surface types" bare, hard basalt, basalt ballast and shale, gravels, hard pack dirt, and a fair amount of soft, loose sand as you head towards the waterfall at the northeast of the coulee. My map is incomplete, but I think the route we took was all of 6 miles.

This is a great place to get paperweights. The rocks are heavy and usually have several flat sides. If you ask the climbers nicely they will pull off some fresh chunks with chalk on them for you. Neat!

I don't rock climb, but I drive hours to come here to chill and watch the sun go down. Probably one of the most peaceful, secluded, beautiful, and memorable places I've ever been to. If you don't stay to watch the sunset then you're not doing it right.

I absolutely love Frenchman Cooley. And was glad to have seen that they installed. Some discover pass in parking permit stations. I always buy the annual discover pass so I can camp out here and then. Glad that they have some other fees coming through so that they can continue to improve the trails and put money into the restrooms and maintaining this beautiful area.
