JW Marriott Masai Mara is a luxurious safari lodge located in the heart of the Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya. The lodge is set on a hilltop overlooking the Mara River and offers stunning views of the surrounding savannah. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. One of the things that makes JW Marriott Masai Mara so special is its staff. The manager, Fairman, is incredibly welcoming and helpful. He goes above and beyond to make sure that guests have a memorable stay. The executive chefs, Rajeev and Bhuvan, prepare delicious and creative cuisine. The food is definitely a highlight of the experience. I would also like to commend Eunice at the restaurant, Thelma for taking care of everything, and Barret and Joseph at the bar for their friendly and attentive service. They all made sure that we were always well taken care of. Our game driver, Janett, was simply amazing. Her wildlife knowledge and animal spotting skills were second to none. She was able to find all the big five (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo) for us, as well as many other amazing animals. She also made sure that we had a lot of fun on our game drives. Thanks to Kennedy and Moses at the Canon studio for providing complimentary Camera and Lens during my stay. Overall, we had an incredible experience at JW Marriott Masai Mara. The lodge is beautiful, the staff is exceptional, the food is delicious, and the game drives were unforgettable. We would highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable safari experience in the Masai Mara. Special mention: Fairman, the manager, for his exceptional hospitality and attention to detail. Executive chefs Rajeev and Bhuvan for their delicious and creative cuisine. Eunice at the restaurant, Thelma for taking care of everything, and Barret and Joseph at the bar for their friendly and attentive service. Janett, our game driver, for her wildlife knowledge and animal spotting skills. We would highly recommend JW Marriott Masai Mara to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable safari experience in the Masai Mara.

Our stay at the JW Marriott Masai Mara was a once in a lifetime trip. I’ll never forget it. The property is exquisite. It is somehow nestled in the wilderness in the middle of the Mara yet feels truly luxurious. For example, the dining/lounge/bar area are located under a GIANT fig tree. A river separates the area from a pond where SEVEN hippos reside. We witnessed hippos emerging from the pond during several of our meals from across the river. The accommodations were nothing short of spectacular. My suite provided all the comforts of a luxury hotel while being literally in the middle of the Masai Mara. We went to sleep every night listening to peaceful wildlife around us. The dining options were amazing. Rajiv, the executive chef, is an angel. Each menu is curated by Rajiv. The food was excellent. Each breakfast included a basket of freshly baked pastries and a menu of whatever breakfast food and beverage you desired. I ordered a bacon benedict almost every day and *chef’s kiss.* The lunch menu was always our favorite. For example, lunch one day was a beetroot gazpacho, baked snapper, and pistachio fudge. The dinners were amazing and themed (i.e., Kenyan night, Indian night, Chinese night, etc.). However, what set the dining apart from any experience we’ve ever had is the personal attention to detail the executive chef had towards EVERY guest. Rajiv was aware of a MINOR food allergy my fiancé has and personally came and visited us prior to every meal to discuss what alternative options would be acceptable. On one night, I saw Rajiv personally tend to five guests with food allergies, making a personalized menu for each guest. Finally, on our last morning, Rajiv, knowing we had a long trip ahead of us, brought out a to-go container of pastries made personally for my fiancé “to sustain us on our journey.” My fiancé about cried. The safari experiences and game drives were incredible. Our guide, Moha, was exceptional. He was extremely knowledgeable and so fun. We consider him a friend after our five days together. We’re still chatting on WhatsApp! Moha was completely accommodating to how and when we wanted to do our game drives. Moha made our experience at the JW Marriott Masai Mara that much better. We saw the Big Five and several hunts. Again, we’ll never forget this experience. Services at the JW Marriott Masai Mara were outstanding. One of the coolest services provided is that the property has a partnership with Canon and allows guests to use high-end SLR cameras and telephoto lenses at no cost. The photos I brought back with me are something I’ll cherish forever. Shoutout to Ken and Moses for helping us learn how to use the cameras and even personally edit some of the photos! I cannot remember in my life a time where we were on a first name basis with so many staff. Thelma, one of the managers, arranged for staff to surprise my fiancé with an intricate set up of flowers and coffee beans shaped like a heart congratulating us on our engagement. Joseph, one of the head bartenders, was always so welcoming to us, and would never let our glass be dry. The staff was not only attentive but also genuinely passionate about sharing their love for the Mara. Their warmth truly made this a trip unlike any we have ever experienced. The JW Marriott Masai Mara is a destination that I feel privileged to have stayed at. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone seeking an adventure. Our time here was unforgettable and I hope to one day return to this paradise in the Mara.

An absolute gem in the Masai Mara. Quite possibly the best hotel experience I've ever had due mainly to the staff. Top notch up and down. Nickolas our guide was an absolute treasure trove of knowledge and has become a life long friend. Thelma made sure our stay went above and beyond our expectations. Our waiter Stilian was a joy and his smile brightened each meal we had. Joseph and the bar staff were class.

Wow! What an amazing experience! Since we deplaned at the Masai Mara, our guide Salim took care of us throughout our stay! He was permanently assigned to us and he was just amazing and had so much knowledge about the Mara. He drove us around the park and made sure to stop whenever we saw any animals for photos. He always found the perfect spot to park to see the animals. He was very friendly and supportive of other drivers and more importantly respecting the land and nature. Everyone in the hotel was friendly and professional. Benjamin was the one supporting all of our meals and it was a treat to talk to him throughout every meal. He was so calm, professional and most importantly kind. He was there delivering coffees at 5:30am or whenever we wanted any food and packing our bush lunch. What an amazing soul. Dan, the security from the Masai villagers was so kind and fun to talk to. Everyone from the Masai were so kind. Elias, Kennedy, Wilson, Thelma, Moses, thank you! Anything you needed and wanted, the team was happy to oblige: Custom game drives, coffee in the mornings, room service, setting up the jacuzzi, last minute tour to the village, anything. The food was amazing. One of the biggest takeways is that even though its a pricey trip, once you are inside, mostly everything is included in your rate so you dont have to worry about anything. Anyways, this is the best Marriott property in the world.

I had the best time thanks to the amazing staff at this beautiful lodge. We got very lucky with our guide, Salim, who knew the entire Masai Mara like the back of his hand. His timing and driving skills allowed us to see the big 5 and many of them several times. He was very knowledgeable on all of the animals and always had the tea on what was happening around the park. I highly recommend visiting the Maasai village as well, it was a very amazing experience and we enjoyed it very much and learned a lot about the amazing Maasai people. Back at the lodge, Benjamin was very attentive and very friendly and took amazing care of us. He taught us a lot of words in Swahili and shared some stories about his Maasai culture with us. Agnes kept our room beautiful the entire time and we always came back to a very clean and organized room, she even folded and hung up our clothes we left out. All of the Maasai warriors kept us very safe and we enjoyed walking with them. Dixon and Dan offered us amazing conversations on our walks. The breakfast in the bush was one of my highlights and again Benjamin made it a truly unforgettable experience for us. I would have loved to stay longer and I am already dreaming of coming back 🇰🇪

An experience of a lifetime! First of all, kudos to all the hard working and lovely staff. Special thanks to our guide Mohammed. Stillian, Noah. You guys are gems ! Housekeeping staff member was absolutely fantastic! An absolutely gorgeous resort, excellent food and the game drives were magical. Highly recommend staying here at least once. The only negative was the lack of A/C. The rooms get very warm in the day and should be looked into getting rectified. To the entire staff at JW Marriott Masai Mara, THANK YOU. You are the reason why this lodge is and will remain successful! Asante !

My husband and I stayed for five nights in early July and can’t say enough about our amazing stay at JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge. The properly itself is absolutely stunning - at once total luxury and also part of the beautiful land. We loved the emphasis placed on sharing the Masai culture throughout our visit, allowing us to learn about and experience its beauty and history. Each meal was thoughtfully and deliciously prepared, and we loved eating under the giant fig tree, sometimes watching the hippos across the river as we ate and others, looking up at the vast expanse of the stars. The rooms were immaculate, both in their design and the extra touches like an outdoor shower and epsom salts for the hot tub. Experiences like a bonfire, drinks and canapés at sunset, and eating breakfast out in the safari were so special. For us, what truly made the experience memorable was the people. Our needs were always anticipated, often before we knew they existed ourselves. Everyone went above and behind to make sure we were taken care of in the best way possible. Nickson was the unifying thread throughout our stay. He was our server for every meal and also much more - he was personable, professional, quick to notice seemingly everything and he made us feel at home. No ask was too much and he gave us a profoundly special experience. David shared his vast knowledge of all manner of wildlife during our game drives. Joseph was a master storyteller, overseer and experience maker. Elias lifted us with his enthusiasm and made us laugh during every conversation. Eunice has the warmest heart that she shared with us during each encounter. Every single staff member went out of their way to make us feel welcome. As we left, we felt like we were leaving family behind. We are so grateful for our experience. Thank you to all. Asante sana. Ashe oleng.

A once in a lifetime experience and stay to couple with our bucket list Safari. Luxury like you wouldn't imagine, in the most gorgeous of settings. The property and facilities are second to none, and the staff are the true shining stars. Fairman (the lodge manager) and his team really made the difference and completely indulged us. Francis and Joseph took care of all our meals and drinks. Their stories and animal impressions enriched every meal! Chef Rajiv and Bhuvan personalized all our mealtimes, dishing up different cuisines and tastes to our liking. Mercy from housekeeping made sure we were comfortable during our stay and always kept the in room pantry fully stocked. Thelma was always on hand before, during and after our stay to make sure we got the most from our trip. Sophy and Boru were the perfect guides, both so knowledgeable, patient and experts at finding elusive animals. Moses, the in house photographer, is an awesome editor and has top of the range canon mirrorless cameras and zoom lenses which are for complimentary use to all guests during their game drives. The JW Marriot vehicles are the best around, with power outlets, fridges and comfy seats with unobstructed views whilst sitting. The majority of vehicles from other resorts/tour operators are enclosed with windows or cramped minibuses with pop open canopies. The luxury "tents" at the lodge are like no other accommodation we have stayed in. They're private and situated along the Talek River, so you routinely get to see and hear animals right from the tent or balcony. The beds were very comfy, the bathroom kitted out with Rituals amenities, and each tent has a private jacuzzi overlooking the Talek River. The dining area is also another lovely spot, overlooking a Hippo watering hole (we routinely saw and heard Hippos during our meals). The JW Marriott Masai Mara has the perfect blend of dedicated staff personalizing everything about your stay, coupled with 5* accommodation and facilities in a unique and privileged setting. All of the reviews mentioning so many staff names is testament to the diligence of the staff and the memories they have helped make with guests. Staying here truly is a once in a lifetime experience and will 110% make your safari adventure complete.
